  • It's a JAG!!!!

  • Ahhh I guess this was before the British got so uptight about health and safety.

  • Full Stall landing. Strong landing gear i hope. Interesting.

  • Rough landing.. Cool video though

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!

  • England has this tradition you see. They are an island off the coast of a continent where a certain race of germanic peoples reside. According to historical evidence and European traditions, namely that of the germanic peoples, the island is to be bombed via air raid every 30-50 years. The raid is over due and the English arent about to be caught off guard.

  • quite rough landing

  • Give a fuck about anything else.THATS GREAT FOOTAGE.

  • Hellava street sweeper I'd say....

  • Highway to the Danger Zone..... has anyone done that yet? If I'm the first to sing that then I am one cool motherfucker.

  • @troglodyte3344 You should be shot for singing such a bad song from a stupid movie.

  • @MrCriticOfAll Your mother should be raped and have her throat slit for even trying to troll me.

  • @troglodyte3344

That is a pretty sick thing to say about anybody from the safety of your bedroom. It is stuff like this that makes YT the gutter of the internet.

  • @TheSpiritof1969 If you don't like it then don't go on youtube. You must like gutters.

  • @troglodyte3344

Grow up you silly little child.

  • @TheSpiritof1969 make me.

  • @troglodyte3344

It past your bedtime kid. Go to sleep and no more thinking about raping your mother.

  • @TheSpiritof1969 no and make me

  • @troglodyte3344

Make you what kid? Spit your dummy out or fill your nappies?

  • @TheSpiritof1969 make me

  • @troglodyte3344

make me make me ..... LOL

Go to sleep kid or you won't be up for nursery school in the morning.?

  • @TheSpiritof1969 make me

  • @MrCriticOfAll And i hope your children are the victims of a psychopath. My mums in hospital at the moment you scum low life.Just fuck up and die fuck face. That was supposed to be a joke.

  • @MrCriticOfAll lol at all the comments you left on my profile. Grow a thicker skin. Its just words on you tube and they don't really mean anything. There is no karma that will get you so you don't need to apologise for anything. Honestly dude, don't stress about the little things. Theres more important things to get upset about than someone you dont know on you tube leaving a comment.

  • Highway as runway!

  • I'm British and I heard that -.-

  • I love how the British say jaguar. Ghaguare

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR how you supposed to say it? not like the americans "jagwarrrrrr"

  • @WhitakerSJA you don't have to get all offended. I was just pointing it out. I'm sure you make fun of American accents in England as well.

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR i wasn't offended at all. i was doing that very British thing called Sarcasm...do you have that in the US? (that was also sarcastic :P)

  • Shows how awesome the RAF is.

  • Preparing for World War Three.

Voiced by Brian from the Archers (Charles Collingwood)

  • I love all the flight simulator experts jawing at each other. "Well when I flew the F-16 ..."

  • Comment removed

  • In the USA every 2 miles of highway there is a straight flat section for another 2 miles. This is so planes can land there should another war breakout. Neat fact :)

  • @civiIian "Another" war...? ;-)

  • Hi-high body angle is not indicative of a flare-have you flown swept wing jets?? Perhaps not-I have in the RAAF-the clue to this is the firmness of the touchdown.

On short field landings you really "drive"the jet on Jaguars have rugged undercarriage to absorb the impact-so did the Swiss Airforce and US navy jets-again hardly any flare-high body angle is needed to get high alpha at low speed-regards

  • Wow, the Jaguar has some pretty strong landing gears.

Very strong for a fighter of this size. And very bouncy !

  • Drop'n off for a cold one at his local pub!

  • For all those asking why do this, the answer is simple. If the enemy destroys all your airfields, you have to be able to operate from somewhere. The whole thing is just practising for something they hope they will never happen.

  • i guess the pilot just trying to find a gas station for refuel.

  • did he get a speeding ticket hehe

  • Why did he pop the chute if he was gonna take off again..and why so damn close to the overpass..sheesh!

  • @SacredSocietyAP Demonstrating the STOL effect of the Jaguar. Has a fast landing speed and the motorway which wasn't quite completed may not have the standard length required for this. The possible sales value of this was enormous during the cold war. The parachute is released by the pilot after landing and a new one is put in by groundcrew before the mext takeoff. May not have needed it for return to base.

  • @mollyisagooddog ah ok..I was a Navy Parchute Rigger for 10 years...shows how much I know..haha

  • cop-sir do you have any idea how fast you were going back there?

    pilot-um, i dont know maybe 170-180ish

cop-sir please step out of the fighter jet

pilot-screw this i can fly, suck it pigs -takes off-

cop-damn I nearly had that one

  • Swiss AF does it most of the time.

  • I think he was doing at least a buck fifty.

  • That fucken crazy

  • cop:you in the jaguar . have anyting you can hurt me with ?

    pilot- O.o..

  • wow that was a rough one..

  • I don't get it. What is the big deal?

  • @crazy7997 'Skill'.

  • @crazy7997 'Boredom.'

  • @crazy7997

the" big deal" is that it is a tight manoeuver-you can see from the landing-no flare, hard onto the ground then hard on the brakes. The picture from the cockpit would be a difficult one-especailly at the high body angle.

  • @bushranger71

"the" big deal" is that it is a tight manoeuver-you can see from the landing-no flare, hard onto the ground then hard on the brakes"

Uhhh there was a shitload of flare in that landing... That is kind of why he hit the deck at a 25 degree aoa

  • @Wendigo127 High AOA doesn't mean he's flaring, flaring is the action of decreasing rate of descent upon touch down by increasing AOA from the stable approach AOA value. In this case there is a little increase in AOA before touchdown so it's a small flare.

  • @raphy1123

He had a long steady flare you can see at the beginning he is at a much lower AOA and is increasing the flare

  • @crazy7997 How many fast jets have you seen land on a motorway? I'd say that was a big deal

  • @crazy7997 In a war, airfields are targets. An enemy can't target every stretch of roadway in a country though.

  • I was there to watch this.... it was bloody noisy but impressive....

As for Jag... why didn't it sell... well the French were doing a roaring trade selling mirages... why take 50% of the profits....

  • @durk1967 That's the French for ya! :P

  • @aspiringdrummer17

    Royal Air Force actually.

  • @grumpyrozzer I wasn't talking about the aircraft in this video, I was talking about French business practises

  • @aspiringdrummer17

    Fair enough.

  • @durk1967 : Some pilots said they liked the plane, but it could have had a bit more horsepower ?

  • WW3 preparations

  • damn that a high AOA flare!!!!!!!! sweet

  • When was this

  • the hell with sweden or japan ! see the skill in this shit ?

  • Bad piloting. Hit hard.

    Take off no problem.

Stupid and meaningless but fun for the crowd.

Hey, I just described a church service!

  • @robertgift he did not hit hard ,, that is the normal configuration and flare for a carrier landing ,,whiich this plane is fully capable

  • Which other aircraft can do this in 2011?

  • @ALB437 Hornet F/A 18 in Finland is doing that

  • @Randomnick123 - One day you might use it for good! I think our AirForce (Switzerland) used to do it with the Hawker Hunter. I don't think it is the case with the Hornets - must be too risky for the tax-payers! I have a very interesting book about the Jaguar, published in 84 by "Haynes Publ.Group". I have not yet found out who is the producer of the front landing gear and if possible, what are the technical details to get such a flexibility, as they are able to land out of any type of runways.

  • @ALB437 The Harrier is completely capable to do this. :D

  • @mjennings061, thank you, finally some one pointed that out

  • Howcome every time I watch a military rilated video there is always at least ONE pisshead trying to claim his/her country is better.

Let me tell you that if you go and try to put over your cocky attitude then it doesn't do much for you country, does it now?

  • FUCK STREET SWEEPERS. this is how they should get the dust off of highways.

  • The music for this video should have been "Highway to the dangerzone"

    Thanks

  • That's one way to clean the road

  • @caderly123 it is true what I said though, since when has America cared for another country? Never, the only reason why your in Afghanistan is because you got a parcel from Al Quaeda! I know people are dying, but which is worse? A couple of bullets outside your home, or a giant crater where your house was? I do see a bit of British RPGs, but not many mortars or airstrikes, but I've also not heard of a Brit killing a US soldier.

  • @MajorWales The last time I checked, British troops are in Afghanistan, fighting along side of us. Are they there for a some moral reason, other than the obvious? Your government CHOSE to support us. Unless you want to live in Englandistan, you'll continue to fight terrorism. As I recall, there was an attack or two on your own soil. You are dead-set on pointing out, and focusing on the differences we have, as nations. Come'on. Gimmie a hug, will ya?

  • @MajorWales Your Welcome For WWI and WWII can you speak german?

  • @MajorWales Perhaps the events of a pre D Day excersize known as Operation Tiger are not known to you. A total of 638 US servicemen were killed in an E Boat attack - mainly because one of the 2 Royal Navy escort ships assigned to protect the force decided to head back into port for repairs without notifying the US forces they were supposed to be protecting. In war tragic events happen and friendly fire occurs, why not list the times when US support has been there to save and protect allies?

  • @nesokretep at leastvmy country has a history for over 300 years...

  • @Caderly123 no need to be offended, I'm just running off historical facts. The last war you won alone was the war of independence. And when you say that a war cannot be won without airstrikes and bombs and artillery, it's because your country was born with them. The US was made a single country a mere 200 years ago, with guns being made a lot around that period. Your country has lived around them, so you grow attached like an addiction. Hence the high usage of explosives

  • @MajorWales Really? I guess you've never heard of the the Mexican War, The Spanish American War, The Philippine Insurrection.....And Yes The War of 1812. A strategic victory if not a tactical one, and I can make a case that it was also a tactical victory. Oh, by the way, since we were British subjects before our Independence. Your history prior to 1776 is also OUR history! Your addiction appears to be one of pomposity.

  • The landing gear on this sucker looks pretty robust. I'm surprised it wasn't used aboard carriers, operationally.

  • @nesokretep at least we can look back at our SUCESSFUL SST... and the US military actually shoots more friendlies than hostile!! Just count up how many Brits have been killed by non-trained wannabe soldiers... And the worst part... They are american - the same people who cannot make up their minds as to how osama bin laden actually got killed

  • @nesokretep those American SST's aren't going anywhere fast, as they STILL HAVEN'T TAKEN OFF!!! trying to be proud of what you ATTEMPTED to do... besides, America doesnt show their men true war, all you ever do Is blow something up with something explosive. PEOPLE LIVE IN AFGHANISTAN! it's not your personal bombing range, people live their lives there, hence the guns and ONLY guns by the Brits, we CARE about the civilians, you, however, only care for yourselves

  • @MajorWales

I am offended by your statement sir. On behalf of the men and women of the US military I must call you out. Our soldiers are put in harms way every day, and they see "true war" more offten than you do in your worst nightmares. That comment is truly HURTFUL to the familys that have lost loved ones in "true war." I am also sure that our buddys the Brits use artilery, airsrikes and other things besides their rifles...you just cant win a war without them. Your comment shows ignorance.

  • @latenightcable I bet you will most likely look up on wikipedia what the differences between the Internet and world wide web!!

(before you ask, I for one know that we're better, as we have more power in our island than what you'll ever get in a person:land ratio, and that's what makes me proud.

America is "everything big", saying that if it isn't yours, it's shit. Concorde was the best aircraft in history, then America wanted it gone, so they went and put up different rules to attempt to sto

  • @MajorWales -- The U.S. had two separate SST's under development, each of which would have been better than Concorde. But they, just like Concorde, were not practical.

The British did have their firsts, though ...

The Jumbo Jet ... no ... wait.

    The A-bomb ... no ... wait.

The LASER ... no .. wait.

Rockets ... space exploration ... moon landings ... robots on Mars ... no .. wait.

Um ... let's see ... World Domination!! Yeah! They did do that first. How'd that go for you?

  • @latenightcable our army is doing better than yours, you just have a lot more people to shoot mire allies... Oh, and the Internet was a British idea, with Manchester university making the first computer. Planes were also made by Britain, as we were flying over the channel way before the so called wright brothers made their debut camera footage. So suck on that you stuck up American twat!

  • lol hard landing ...

  • i bet that highway had to be paved again. lol

  • holy shit that is a pretty aggressive approach

  • Cut backs mean no airbases now... only motorways for use :)

  • W pierwszych sekundach myślałem, że to Tomasz Knapik komentuje ;-)

  • The reason many nations have highways where it is possible for fighter jets to land on are in case they get invaded and need use of airstrips closer to their cities.

  • That was awesome! The coolest thing the Britts have ever and will ever do!

  • @jtp0711 You can thank the British for the Jet engine, if it wasn't for the British inventor 'Timothy Berners-Lee' who invented the internet... you wouldnt be reading these words right now!!! And of course we have by far the greatest Air Force, and Army on the Planet.... you can't argue with history and facts!!!! America hasn't won a single war since the war of independence two hundred and thirty years ago. Histories best cars the GT40 and AC Cobra are both British. GB are the Best Engineers!

  • @jackrussell19a You must be out of your gourd. Berners-Lee is credited with the world wide web, NOT the internet. Two different things. Militarily, Britain is nothing special, nor did they invent jets. You'd be speaking German right now if the U.S. hadn't provided planes, ships, and other war materials through Lend-Lease, and later military assistance. England was desperate for it. The AC Cobra has Ford engines to thank for even being remembered. GT40 was international, but mostly American.

  • @jackrussell19a By the way, you can thank YouTube - another American invention, for having a forum in which to proliferate your historical nonsense.

  • Guy 1. Hi boss im going to be late this morning

Guy 2. And whys that Roberts?

Guy 1. A jet fighter just cut me up on the motorway

Guy 2. Now your just a taking the piss, your fired! *Hangs Up*

Guy 1. Prick! Good old You Tube!!!

  • what do you mean speeding officer?! I don't see a sign saying how many knots an hour is legal! lol

  • thats why highways are long and stright so the airforce can use them... that started doing this in the 1950s

  • @Unguidedone I don't think the interstates were used for airstrips for air vehicles though, mainly to transport troops to the east coast if the Soviet Russians at the time (Cold War) would attack the U.S from the east coast.

  • Good morning officer, what's up? :)

  • You in the Jaguar, pull over.

  • The marginals aren´t big on this one. :)

  • Awesome!

  • Awesome!

  • Most of the highways in Switzerland are designed to accommodate fighter jets this way. Many jets (F-18) are hangared in nearby mountains!

  • I freakin LOVE the Jag with it's twin engines, highway landings and toll-gate dodging antics

  • I know this is insane but bullshit landing man jesus!

  • @SR71ABCD I think you'll find it was made to land like that on purpose to demonstrate how rugged it is and just how short a runway it needs...that wasn't the pilot being crap, it was him proving a point. There's also another video of a jag taking off from grass as well...next to an empty runway, again, just to prove a point of what it can do.

  • Jesus christ he chose to flare a little too late

  • @Dominoes282

    That's what I was thinking!

  • unbelive

  • So i guess if they can land out roads, we can now drive on runways

  • They would need a Harrier for the M25

  • Permission to land runway 30 30 something?!

    (Hot Shots)

  • bet he carnt do that today, all the bloody traffic and suisides lol

  • bad ass landing

  • This jaguar is on display at the city of Norwich aviation museum , Norwich airport

    England

  • Highway systems were originally designed not just for civilian traffic but to also function during any conventional or nuclear exchange during the Cold War. Cool vid. That would take some guts to pull that off.

  • I haven't seen the Jaguar fly as much as I see the tornado, I always thought the Jaguar was the coolest plane in the RAF, but it seems the harrier has a shorter take off but this plane has a longer flight fuel time and reach mach 1. Fuck the Harriers slow ass speed.

  • This is a relic of the Cold War when Jaguars from RAF Bruggen in Germany were expected to fly into Russia, drop nuclear warheads and land as far away as their fuel load would allow. These Cold War pilots are the unsung heroes of the Cold War!

  • here in the US for every 4 miles on highway we have a 1 mile straight section for a plane to land on

  • @KartKing4ever Congratulations!

  • yeh the Jags got some seriously strong gear on it, this was nothin ha

  • Pakistan air force landed a mirage on the motor way tomorrow!~!!

  • He almost lost it on Landing...

  • what a strong landing gear, it did not break

  • She was origonally built as a carrier aircraft so the Gear had to be strong :o)

  • @UKVoodooUK was it bollox. I worked on Jags and that is biggest load of rubbish i've hear d in a long time.

  • @djhumphreys74 dont matter if ya worked on them ya tit if you look into the origonal specifications for the aircraft it was specified it had to be able to run from grass runways and also carrier config for the French Air Force orders..I used to work on operational Tucanos at RAF Church Fenton dont mean I know everything about what it was origonally specified to be able to do..Idiot!

  • I'm curious to see if the skid marks are still there. haha

  • Nice, I know that few airforce practice to do this,

Singapore is one of them but never heard my airforce done this before.

  • In Sweden have we used roads in our airforce since ? the 50-60´s.

If you drive in your car in remote areas in Sweden you will find them here and there ;)

  • @voderick Supposedly South Korea, like Sweden builds their roads to be usable as airfields during war if it's called for.

  • @voderick yea i heard that in sweden they use roads, thats awesome

  • @voderick this jets aincient though... and by the look of the video this is the 60s

though its not proving it can land/take off from roads, just from a short strip :)

  • @voderick Remote? I grew up not far from such a base and it was ten mins from Norrköping. :)

  • @voderick In Poland too.

  • @antenov

    Jag sätter 1000kr på Viggen

    :)

  • @voderick in the US every 5 miles or so of our interstate highway system is supposed to have a 1 mile strait away, to use as runways in times of war. lol thats a lot of runways, some of our interstates are 2,000 miles long

  • @BurroBurrito1

Built in to US from Swedish blueprints=Yes :)

We also have submarines that US Navy not can find.

    To sum it ut:

    Sweden got it all.....

  • @voderick NOT true! For every measure there is a counter measure!

  • @voderick It can't be a Swedish design - it hasn't got it's lights on in the daytime pissing everyone off.

  • @voderick people make fighter races too?

  • The Harrier pilot is not impressed.

  • yeah, I remember this.

  • Yes I have seen the takeoff clip before but never seen the bumpy landing with chute!

I wish they could do this nowadays:(

  • This motorway is the M55 between Preston and Blackpool.

Jaguar from BAE Warton about 4 miles away from the M55.

    Fantastic video

  • @chrisward12345 And what's really ironic is that parts the of the M55 sub surface was made up of the reclaimed runway from the nearby RNAS Inskip!
