  • wow this video is ancient. Oh and unreal tournament runs perfectly right off the cd with a native client. But there are lots of linux exclusive mods and custom games WIN! xD

  • @Gerro15A you noticed that too? it's been made like 2 yrs ago so yea, it is :D

  • you forgot pacman and mario =D

    linux sucks!

  • @GuilhermeLoKaUm what about Alien Arena? or the increasing support and improvement of the Wine system? Meh.

  • You forgot the most important one; Minecraft.

  • @xXThesticlerXx Back then I didn't new there was it. It was released in may, so it wasn't that big at the time but yes, I'm pretty sure it's really big now ;)

  • @xXThesticlerXx Checking now.. it's not free btw.. not even open source..it's cross platform.

  • @MrShoy There's where your wrong, it is open source and there IS a free version but the free version is not open source.

  • @xXThesticlerXx not everyone is like Chuck Norris..I mean.. perfect.. sometimes we all get wrong about something.

  • Everyone know that Windows is certianly the most sucessful OS in term of game. Nobody on the earth can say the opposite. This is not my opinion, this is a FACT. 4000 + game versus 1500 MAC and 430 Linux

  • @SuperDave341 Only because since the beginning of Windows they putted so much efforts for developing games.

If Mac or Linux developers could put the same energy as Microsoft did for games, I was sure that there was a lot more games.

Microsoft used the easiest way to be popular: games.

    If we have games=more users=game companies=more $

Since essentially games for Linux are mostly free and open, they would earn less than what they would learn with Windows.

  • @MrShoy In a video game or pc game collector view, the linux is worthless since most of their game are not physicial. I forgot to mention it in the previous post. I know many physical linux game but it has far less than MAC OS, MAC OS X or the windows generation

  • @SuperDave341 just because they started recently to make it, and they are hobbists, and not paid programmers ;)

  • @SuperDave341 off subject son

  • @SuperDave341 okok..give 5 yrs of time to linux, and they will pop up with good games :P

  • @SuperDave341 I love how Linux is 'useless because it doesn't play games'. Linux is the most common used server in the world because it is more stable than Windows Server Edition 2008. Microsoft's own servers are Linux based, I've seen proof of it. Games aren't important enough to rate a whole operating system on.

  • @il0veher1991 I know it wasn't for me but: We all know that, about Microsoft using linux for server stability. And I also know that games aren't enough for rating a O.S, but for marketing, if you check Windows ads, most are based on playing games.Like Where Ballmer screams for the Windows with Reversi. Linux is more a professional system and I love it :D

  • @MrShoy I know. It's a great market technique, targeting gamers like that. I have a good computer so I use Linux all the time for Counter-Strike: Source and stuff.

  • Mrshoy, you should have said the right things not like linux isnt good for games but explained that you can alsmost tell that MS foces developers to only develop for windows.

  • @Shinger86,you know why right?

For Windows there is an important keyword: "profit", that's why there aren't lot of games for Linux

From what I see it's not hard making a 3d game for Linux (since there are Cube and Cube 2 and other games to look at) but simply they will not earn the same money they could make for Windows.

And well, games are made for platforms like Wii,PS3,xbox..

  • @MrShoy Linux isnt different then windows if you speak about a OS, in my eyes linux is even better. Its more like they dont think linux users would buy games what is kind of suck because there are alot of people who would by good games if they would be brought to linux including me.

  • @Shinger86: if people would start to make business from making games for Linux, that would mean Linux is a good competitor.

Most of the people doesn't consider Linux because it's not a commercial product, and would be more considered as a true OS by common people. And since Linux is free, it would have a growing line of windows people that converts to Linux :)

There are a lot of applications that are better on Linux, I agree for that :D

  • @MrShoy The only thing i can say is we just have to have some patience. If a linux desktop will win then im kind of sure it would be Ubuntu.

  • @Shinger86: and probably it will be, because it's the most pushed distro.

But I would also say Linux Mint would come up, as you see, learning curve from Windows to Linux Mint is at "low" impact :)

  • @Shinger86 The problem with mint is, its the distro that really depends on Ubuntu. So if canonical stops developing Ubuntu then the end would also be very soon for Mint. So in Commercial as non-commercial distro is Ubuntu from my perspectief better. And i think 10.04 will prove it so (except buttons on the left side but ill always help users to restore the buttons)

  • @Shinger86: you quoted yourself ;)

Let's keep in mind that if something will happen to Ubuntu(hey you said people would love it :P)

and Linux Mint will be over with it too. But there would be still around the "mint tool" that people can adopt for another distro and continue with that..

For now we are sure Ubuntu will continue to make it.. we will see in the future :D

  • thx for step mania man :D

  • ;) Have fun with it, I love it :D

  • i will 4 sure :D
