Pits are very hyper, and have tons of energy. This spring pole provides a great work out for every muscle in the dogs body. I used to tie a length of garden hose to the cloths line and both my English bull terrier and Staffy would hang of it while the line was spinning...all dogs with a lock jaw can do that trick easy as hell.

I agree with the feet closer to the ground. Why? Because, if perchance his tooth gets caught in the rope, it will be easier for you to get him off....otherwise, it could be a real problem and your dog could re-direct at you while hanging in the air. Not a fun thing.

It's in a pitbull's genes to want to jump up and latch on to something like that. Remember, these dogs started out in the 1600 or 1700s in England, helping the famer to bring down the bull. The dog would jump up, grab the bull by the nose and hold on while the farmer did what he needed to do with the bull.

A great way to exercise a big dog. The only thing is, by having his feet off the ground and him hanging onto the toy for such a long period of time, it only encourages the myth that Pit Bulls have "locking jaws". I'd recommend lowering it so that his feet touch the ground. It's also safer if he's on the ground, there's less of a chance of him hurting himself.

the point of the spring pole is to work out the dog and build muscle. when they hang on it and shake their whole body..they are using pretty much every muscle in there body and getting a good workout doing it.
