Sharing knowledge and mentoring....helping one another....performing random acts of kindness. Empowering. These virtues are rarely exhibited these days. People have become so disconnected and careless in the world today. Every one marches to the beat of a different drummer, but it is soooooo refreshing to see someone willing to share/teach their talents with others and not be a prudish (if that's even a word....lol). I listend to the beginning and just thought it was so stupid why do ppl always insist on deconstructing and analyzing great art to the point that it no longer becomes art but science? the secrets of how the art was made should stay with the person let ppl find there own path in the art they seek instead of mimicking everyone else, which people seem to do way to much. not saying ppl never mimicked in the past. but an artist shdnt have to deconstruct his art for ppl but let ppl enterpret it.

I think something Torley said in his "Torley Talks 2/8: Use your voice" video, hit the nail on the head. He said (talking about starting from childhood) "...as you grow, first you imitate, then you innovate".

I think that is what he's try to say in this video.. share, so that others can learn from your experiences and grow, innovate, expand upon your ideas which lead to new ideas and new creations.

oohh!! torley if it means anything... i can't see your scars. ;) at least not without pulling up the HD lol... leave them behind. :) i concur though that, as many 'normals' will say lol, that artists lead a 'special' life - 'starving, cut-throat, insane' sometimes.;) like living under a microscope, everyone thinks you're 'special' (though it doesn't help pay your bills ;0) or 'they just don't get you' (ohh to live a life so easily 'gotten', as they must lol ;0)... i think i'll stay right here.:)

So sorry you have suffered that way Torley. Bette Davis said something like 'anyone who is sensitive at all in this world has thought about suicide' - it's a tough world. I have depressions too, and find it hard sometimes to direct my feelings outward. There is great empowerment in putting our REAL selves out there, though, and then being accepted ANYWAY. What a revelation.

I admire your bravery in posting this video Torley, and agree with your philosophy re: artists.

Wonderful of you to breaK THE SILENCE AND SECRECY. It is important to pass down knowledge & wisdom. Entire Native American cultures are vanishing because no one remembers the original story. Wiccian is a reconstruction of an old faith that was so persecuted that the male deities name is unknown now because it was so well eradicated.
