Col. Janis Karpinski was used as a scapegoat by Bush and others to hide what the CIA and civilian interrogators were doing in Abu Ghraib. You must watch this documentary to understand how it came to be that this honorable woman paid such a high price for trying to do an impossible job. In the end, the bad guys won, this country lost, and a competent soldier and leader such as Col Karpinski lost. That's not a good thing for this country. We need a true and thorough investigation.

The only reason I see why Saddam was under the control of a female military police superior is because they want to insult and demoralize him further. As an Arab, it was a slap on his face (as they thought) to be under the control of a woman. It has nothing to do with whether Brigadier General Janis Karpinski is capable to lead or not. I don't think that's true with what she said "If the pentagon would have known they would have never allowed it" if the pentagon doesn't want something plastered all over the news then it's not hard for them to stop it.
