But the flirting was probably feeling a little to real for both of them ;) They had an affair that was serious and lasted a year or two. This is as close as Elvis ever got soundwise to late-'60s "underground" blues-rock. To say it's a 40-weight testosterone atom bomb ready to detonate its payload is an understatement. The performance is way too strong to not have come from some deep well of inspiration, 'cause you can tell that Elvis really feels it. He's stroking every word to make it purr and click and hum hosannas to the highest. One of his albums tracks that never garnered as much attention as it should've.
