Everytime You Go Away is the only track on the album that is a miss. The emotion that Paul Young put into that song is unparalleled. All other renditions are okay, but not great. These two legends should have done an originals album.

Yeah, the album is amazing - one of Al's bast (believe me - I have ALL his albums!).

And I attended his concert with a German Big Jazz Band last thursday (6th of december), and he is still such a great singer.

I have seen him live three times, and he just gets better and better. I have also gotten the privilege to meet hom, at all these three occasionsm, and he is always extremely charming, funny, witty, friendly, personal - a great guy, basically. One of my true heroes!

Just pure magic - I remember now how both George and Al influenced me as a young musician - their music was WAY ABOVE most other music in the 80's.

most music is way above anything in the 80's. even benson was watered down to adult soft jazz which emphasized his vocals rather than his guitar prowess during the 80's. even my mother was listening to it! uuurrrrgh! but he is still the MASTER! only pat metheny is in the same class of jazz prodigys today.

yes they are both excellent, but remember, Wes Montgomery himself heard Benson playing in a music store before he died and was impressed to say the least, as the story goes. many jazz critics have labeled him heir to Wes' throne. he's certainly lived up to it over the years.
