  • Ronin has the best car chase.

  • best car chase after French Connection

  • my friends Brother has the 2001 Bullit Edition Mustang that baby sure is sweet

  • HQ endeed!!!! Great sound!

  • This is awesome. Great mood music for when you're stuck in traffic waiting for the moment to punch it. I also like to play this song when I'm driving slow trying to find a spot in a crowded parking garage.

  • Lalo Schifrin is the BOMB...he did Mannix too!

  • Three people drive a black Dodge Charger.

  • I can remember watching this movie for the first time with may dad...he always loved the part when the mustang appears in the rear view mirror of the charger......This car chase was one of the few things I ever watched with him where he cranked up the volume....fantastic memory this movie and this tune bring me back to.

  • Music from the CD "Steve McQueen as 'Bullitt' music by LALO SCHIFRIN. Aleph Records 018

  • Wow! Thanks all....... We have got over 100K views, thanks too you.

  • @trouserclips Remember airbrushing a breakdown truck in Peterhead, Scotland with images from this movie. It was on the road for a week, and some thug chucked a brick at it !!...took me a week to do it...never got round to repairing it, and the brick landed on Steve McQueen's face, made him look like bloody Sylvester Stallone...bastard!!

  • Super Cool - a favorite !!!!! .

  • Great job trouserclips.I just can't stop viewing your video.Lalo is the bomb and let's not forget SteveMcQueen and Bill Hickman.Superb video.

  • Great music. Is this the orginal? Do you know who has the orginal if its not? To bad they dont make the orginal mustang

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing It is very simliar, but compared to the version in the movie, It seems the drums are much more proiment in this version starting at about 1:56. Still great music though.

  • @SergeantReese I like it wish they would release the orginal. This is more upbeat and longer

  • Comment removed

  • I guess the two dislikes were the guys in the Charger

  • Hi trouserclips. Thanks for creating this . This has certainly made my day. Superb.!!!!!!!

  • Lalo Schifrin is the MAN! Just check the soundtracks this man conducted. Incredible! This is Music! I absolutely love it!

  • Play it on your car stereo, it makes for a more interesting journey.

  • can anyone tell me where to find the song that the band in the coffee joint was playing?

  • @dissemblernels Hi, I think the tracks called " Just Coffee" Amazon have got the Soundtrack under Bullitt.

  • @trouserclips thanks

  • @dissemblernels it's Called "A Song for Cathy" It's on the sound track Cd, about 50 bucks. But it's worth it. :)

  • @dissemblernels the sound track is on CD ... thats the track with charlie mingus on? harrys' theme is it?

  • @dissemblernels I think it's rather that: Bullitt (Original Score) - Lalo Schifrin - A Song For Cathy,

  • I use to have a fastback mustang in racing green. This music just goes with the car.

  • @dicdak ....... and the Black 1968 Charger too.... lol

  • Lalo and his musicians made a great musical score in this movie. Lalo was the movies musical director of choice back in the 70's.

  • Its amazing how well thought out music can set up an amazing piece of cinematography. This is a class example. certain Spagetti westerns also spring to mind.

  • This video contains content from UMG. It is not available in your country.

  • You sir just created one of the sweetest videos and music selections ever.

  • Thank you

  • @drc1981 Thank you

  • @drc1981

    Right on.

  • @drc1981 ~ He sure did. The police movie drama themes from the 60's & 70's give me goose bumps. I was a kid in the Bronx, NY coming up on this and I remember all of them. I was 3 yrs old when Bullitt came out but did not see the movie until around 1974 or so. Every Cop in America should start their day off listening to this soundtrack or one as devastating as this before he/she starts their tour of duty for the day. Hell, I'd be ready for the world after hearing this!

  • Epic!

Was the V8 sound on the original soundtrack or did you add it later? Either way this track and your video are top quality.

  • When the full bassline kicks in at about the 2:00 mark in is epic . Reason to upgrade your computer sound. The progressions really give the feeling of shifting and piston pumping.

  • The guy is such a genius composer that the muscle car exhaust sound rumble is really integral to the music. Not only that but its coordinated perfectly with the visual track. Try getting this with CGI and synth tracking!

  • Sounds much like Dirty Harry music as well...

  • @MarioM45 Same Composer.

  • Many thanks .

  • It was a great era of cinema sympho-jazz orchestras. Unrepeatible Lalo Schifrin music. What a sound of a horns and bass - music instruments here like engine working of Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger with devlish vibrations at the end of low horns. And ofcourse only mister Steve Mcqueen on the mind, tracing Charger and mobs in it. Outstanding soundtrack. The best film chase and auto stunt work ever. Bill Hickman was the best. Thank you

  • @Mrandrew7777

Wow! heavy stuff, Thanks Mr Andrew.

  • @trouserclips, thanks a mill for this. Much appreciated. Can't seem to get these tracks anywhere.

  • @Mrandrew7777, yeah, those gravelly horns start sort of snorting quietly along when McQueen's profile comes into close up. Love the way the strings swerve along with the bad guys making a U turn and turning right to go up the hill after Bullit. People always associate Schifrin with Dirty Harry and MI but this soundtrack is the bomb!

  • 2:10 Starts the shit :')

  • fantastic soundtrack...damn i never heared it in this quality. the bassline is fantastic.

  • @MarcS4R

    Thanks,

  • What's to dislike about this? This is what movie soundtracks should sound like.

  • the music fit the chase seen

  • Great music, Bullitt the best car chase in history. AAAAAAAA++++++++

  • @RedWine2go well said I couldn't agree with you more ..cheers

  • @RedWine2go ~ Hell yeah. Natural chase at that. It certainly came before the classic chases in The French Connection, The Seven Ups, Mc Q, The Longest Yard, Mr. Majestyk just to name a few. This was the best and the soundtrack, Oh My God!!!

  • Great music, Great movie, Great cars!!

    McQueen and Hickman rules!

  • Reminds me of the music from Dirty Harry :P

  • @Marco007Marco007 it should, its Lalo Schifrin, same composer

  • Whenever I hear this music first thing that pops into my mind is the music of Jonny Quest!

  • @ole9421

    makes you shiver,

  • @trouserclips yep, shiver up the spine and my heart pound.

  • @ole9421 Yeah, same here!

  • Fantastic music this and also its good to hear it without the sound of car engines roaring but listening to it you can visualise this great car chase from the 60's

Brilliant stuff.............................cheers for posting top marks and favourite

  • @hungryherbie

there are not many V8 about now!

  • @trouserclips True that, I drive a little Mazda Miata with a 1.6...lookin to get my hands on a Ford Crown Vic ex cop car for the winter...cravin the power of a big gas guzzlin V8...in any case, love the vid, great pics :)

  • Steeve McQueen. The only man I know of who could make a turtleneck look completely bad-ass.

  • @ChannelUmptyThree Lol spot on matey

  • After I bought the soundtrack on CD in the mid-90s, I had to listen to this track while driving around San Francisco. It was awesome! LOL!

  • Everytime I hear Lalo Schifrin compositions from this era, all I can hear is Enter The Dragon.

  • this has someone playing along with it

  • He, the car, the soundtrack.... LEGENDARY & COOL!!

  • Happy 80th Steve. Ride on!

  • Great music, Lalo Schifrin just takes me back to the great films of the 60's & 70's. But I have to disagree with you on the Ford V8 being the best sound in the world. IMOO the Rolls Royce Merlin takes some beating and what really hits the spot for me is the Rolls Royce Griffon.

Still thanks for sharing this great piece of music. Brill!!

  • one of the best bass riffs ever!

  • Very Very Cool Stuff ! Nice Job there Daddy-O!

  • @Hotspace5170 thx son lol

  • Excellent!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:56

  • Lalo Schifrins the man!

  • whose version is this?

this sounds different from my official bullitt album

  • Just saw this flick for the first time tonight, and the whole time I was thinking "man, this music is f'ing awesome!"

  • @lettersfromtheleft thank you

  • Thanks for uploading this tune - truly awesome!!

  • Hang on,,,, they have just offered me £500

    "Think should he have it"

    Nope LOL,

It's for you, Enjoy it advert free!!!!!! lol

  • @trouserclips Gordon Brown PM in the UK, Might tkake the money and run to Barbados.

  • YouTube want me to put Advert's on this Video, and pay me money for it! But I don't own the copyrights for the Music. But who give's a ****

It's here for you to wacth and Enjoy.

  • The right stuff, great sound, thx

  • Darn good I done my own version of car chase with music but love the original music. thanks for posting

  • Thanks to you all for watching my Video, It's is 1 year old, and nearly 30,000 hit's. Thanks for watching, and Happy new Year to you all. trouserclips.

  • You're the only person on the internet who's bothered to upload this track (can't find it anywhere else), so big props to you for uploading

  • R.I.P Steve Mcqueen

  • Where can i downloade this song!

  • Trying to find it for you sweendoggg, will post it when I find it.

  • The Best car chase in a movie for me is "To Live And Die In L.A.

  • Best Movie ever!!!

  • Mega geile Mucke !! Lalo is the Best !!

  • Before this movie, the "car chases" were cars going at a normal speed, then the film was sped up. This is the grand-daddy of all car-chase scenes! No matter if there were obvious goofs, like the cars you see over and over (the Volkswagen, for example . . .) and, for people who live here in San Francisco, them skipping all over the city. (I particularly like the one where they are on Marina Blvd. going toward the Golden Gate Bridge then are down on Mansell St. near McLaren Park!)

  • You live in Frisco?

  • Yes. . . . If you're familiar with The City, or, you live there also, I live in The Sunset District. Some years back, there was an article in The San Francisco Chronicle about the making of "Bullitt" and they talked about how long it took to do the car-chase scene. They also included a map of The City that showed all the locations the car chase was in, and where they skipped from one area to another. It was great!

  • True, but The Road Warrior almost re-invented the car chase. George Miller placed the viewer mostly in the driver's seat, not as a bystander on the road.

Both Bullitt and The Road Runner are edited scenes.

For the best un-edited continuous driving watch Claude Lelouch's Rendesvous in Paris from 1976. No retakes there or edits.

    Cool. There's a "McLaren" park??

  • Yes, I remember that effect in The Road Warrior. That was great. I'll have to check out that movie Rendezvous in Paris; I had not previously heard of it. By the way, yes, McLaren Park is another big park here in The City; it's in the southern part. It was named after John McLaren, the man instrumental in the formation of Golden Gate Park, and who was its first superintendent.

  • Well, basically Rendezvous in Paris is called C'etait un rendezvous in its native language and its not a movie merely some 10 minute high speed driving through the narrow streets of Paris. A camera was mounted on the front of the car and some Formula 1 driver, they believe Didier Pironi, was driving the car up to 130mph on Paris city streets. It sounds like a Ferrari 12 cylinder but rumour has it was just one of those monster Mercedes 450SEL 6,9's

    Continous shot for 10 minutes.

  • Just watch Rendezvous in Paris, Fantastic!!!!!!!

  • ill give my left nut to have those cars

  • lol!

  • fuck the charger.....mcqueens fastback is one i'd kill for. and give my left nut for

  • Well in reality the Mustang needed to be repaired after each jump when the scenes were shot. Whereas the Charger could survive any jump. At least that's the story.

    Bad guys always drive Chargers.

  • *cough* dukes of hazzard... Though Bill Hickman is the coolest as the hitman in the Charger.

  • Ford gave them 2 Mustangs and 2 Fairlanes for the movie. Max Balchowski, who prepped the cars, said the Fairlanes wouldn't hold up to the abuse and recommended a Dodge. So they bought two black Chargers at a Dodge dealer. The first jump where the Mustang bottoms out actually crushed the oil pan and broke the steering armature. They also did shock tower bracing and magnafluxing. The Chargers were unmodified, save for higher rate rear springs (which is why the car sits funny), and they held up.

  • Thanks. I remember watching a Top Gear episode where they were driving a 68 Charger and mentioned Bullitt, and that what the audience didn't know was that the Mustang needed constant repairs when shooting the scenes, whereas the Charger could do all that no sweat. Anyway, the sales of the Mustang went sky high after Bullitt so people "bought" the scene.

It seems all the fools of the 21'st century also buy the half mile dead straight jump with the Mustang in the Gone in 60 seconds remake...

  • the engine sounds like a storm ¡¡¡ incredible car ...

  • Old skool V8

  • The chase scene in Bullitt is the best. See it at:

    watch?v=Z-7IEPTAoTg

Lalo Schifrin is a freakin' genius.....the music and the chase scene are perfect together.

  • Thankyou Logan

  • Agreed. Love the way music cuts and we're treated to the roar of engines and FX.

Shame that he passes the same VW Beetle more than once.

The chase is extended by useing multi camera set up - note the wheel cover spinning off twice.

  • more than that. The Charger loses 11 hubcaps.

  • lmao so true

  • Try and look for the Original M-P-S. It's only on import and they're the songs from 1968. It has the original "Shifting Gears" from the film. Schifrin is a genius.

  • Thanks, have you got a copy?

  • Yes, I do have a copy. I believe it's digitized too so if I can locate it I'll try and post it to my profile.

  • i love 60 s

  • PS: The sound Track is good.

  • Thank you all, I did it with Widows Movie Maker. over 12,000 hits. All down to you. please leave a good star rating. trouserclips.

  • Sweet!

  • Thankyou

  • Why?

  • Best song from Bullitt!

You have to hear it loud! :)

    "Hotel Daniels" is also great.

  • got it ,

  • Superb!!!

    Great music!!!

  • It's got to be one of the best!

  • Pure Quality :)

  • Thank you

  • two words: Bill Hickman. He ran rings around Steve. 440/4 didn't hurt either.

    Mopar or No Car.

    nice audio/video, trouser. great audio!

  • Good on the Headphones. yes?

  • Finally, someone like me who sees this film for what it really is - Bill Hickman, the R/T 440(s), and this song. Been studying this film, it's cast, cars, music and location since my first viewing in 1968. Even bought a '68 Charger, and to this day, was one of the best riding and handling cars I've ever owned.

  • 68 Charger, you lucky man! I am still dreaming to own one.

  • aye

  • Thankyou, It is only a sort film, put together by me, Cheers

  • @CoasteRon

Bill Hickman is the 'silent" star in the movie. Best stunt driver and is seen in many "chase" scenes in movies around late "60's, 70's. I am a mustang fan (have Bullitt mustang in 1/18th scale) but "68 Dodge Charger one of the best looking cars ever. It performed even better....it ran circles around the Mustang for this movie so much so as they had to give it (ie. handicap) the smallest tires I 've seen for a Charger. Still it was fun watching it throw off 4+ hubcaps eh. ")

  • lalo...cura!!!

  • LOVE IT!

  • Thankyou all for the Ratings.

  • How could you upload this video with the song? I tried to upload another one with a Schifrin song and Youtube cut the song because of the WB copyrights...

  • I added the V8 Sound Track, to make 1 track.

  • Lalo Schifrin is a musical GOD!

I've never heard a cooler film sountrack in my life.

  • Great! Thanks

  • Fuckin' great theme, i must make a short movie with this title as i do in Jours sans amis 2 ( ... Hawaï ) with a Roy Budd Track !!

  • I think you like It!!!!!

  • Very nice indeed.

Mind you, my Triumph TR7V8 rally car sounded much better but a good try.

  • Thanks, Rover V8 Solid as a Rock. I rallied a Mini Clubman 1340 for a while in the 80's but it started to cost to much. Have a cini film some where, must put it on You Tube.

  • where album did you get this song off from? i want it so bad.

  • The Cd Is, Bullitt : The Original Soundtrack. By Lalo Schifrin. Track no 2 "Shifting Gear" I added the V8 Sound on.

  • haha it wasent the best v8 sound

  • it's 'shifting gears', for the record

  • Many Thanks, I need new Glasses,LOL

  • Lalo Schifrin was the single most talented score master in Hollywood History. Bullitt and Dirty Harry would be nowhere near the same without Schifrin's nail-biting jazz trickery heightening the suspense.

  • Yes I Agree.

  • thanks for uploading the song!

a great chase and a sensational v8 soundtrack

  • Thank you Jack

  • Listening to this I can piece together the uneasy chase when the Mustang and Charger switch positions in my head :P

  • Great chase, Thankyou for the Comment

  • I wish I was alive back then, and I wish they would've banned asbestos a lot sooner,so this cool dude would be around today....

  • Yes I agree, Great Actor. Thankyou

  • love the 68s mustang!!

    and McQueen!!!!

  • Thank you

  • 60's/mcqueen/mustang = awesome!

  • Thanks. Its a great Film & Soundtrack.
