  • Everyone says Mary was messed up but if they need to know where that started how about looking at her father?

  • Mary was not evil, she was indeed a beautiful and faithful child. She was loyal to her mother, and thats why she may have disliked her father's choice in other women.

Mary was very content with Henry, but was declared a Bastard.

She had a hard childhood, with her mother dead, and her father picking up women every five minutes, so you cannot blame her behaviour when queen.

  • Somehow country music doesn't quite fit the imagery.

  • this song sucks

  • Do you think that rembering how Henry delcared her a bastard and having to serve Elizabeth that had affect her relationship with her(Elizabeth) as well the reason she turned to do the things she did?

  • @Alocinlegna74 I understand where your coming from, but Mary was a loving Sister to Elizabeth they both had a great relationship an they both loved it each other. it wasn't until Mary was Queen, an the plots to dethrone her (Lady Jane Grey) as well as the Fact Marys husband 'some' historiains say had a Fascination with Elizabeth. But it was ultimately the plots, that caused the fractuered relationship between Mary & Elizabeth. Mary MADE Elizabeth the Queen of England in her death an last will!

  • awesomeee

  • è bellissimo questo video :) love it so much <3!

  • You're video is awesome and so touching. Poor child... she had to suffer most. Not being allowed to see your own mother seems too cruel to me.

  • I rather Prefer Good Queen Mary to her sister Bloody Bess.

Had Mary lived a little longer England would have been reconciled to the Faith. However that was not God's will and hence we must pray for England and its people.

May Mary's Dowry the Isle of Saints be faithful to God's Holly Church once again.

  • @Giocrypt Oops, you forgot the protestants she brutally burnt. Oh well!!

  • @m2mfan4eva Elizabeth did the same but alot more because she reigned and lived longer, both had bad childhoods and suffered because of their father. but oh well they were just Catholics, do u see what I'm getting at?No doubt it!. 2010 an it continues today sad but true!.

  • @Giocrypt Deuteronomy 5:9, Exodus 20:3-5, Exodus 23:24. In scripture it said that God's people perish due to lack of knowledge Hosea 4: 6. I praise God for the reform... Remember saints can not hear us... they were merely servants to God. The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ... Try pray to Jesus, because with the saints you won't get very far... I am not the one who speaks but the living word of God... Be blessed....

  • 2.00 Which season and episode please?

  • Season 3 episode 1

  • It was so sad when they wouldn't let her see her mother in the last years of her mothers life. I can't imagine how much it must have hurt to have everyone call you a "bastard" and have your father basically ignore you for years. In the episode where Chapuys died, I was so sad for her, he was like a father figure to her. Also, Sarah Bolger is so beautful and the little girl who played Mary in the1st season was such a cutie pie. Great video. : )

  • I admire Mary for staying true and faithful to her Catholic faith in spite of the hurts and betrayals she went. I believe that the only reason that she held on for so long was to rectify the biggest grievances that was done to her mother - that she was the legal wife & Queen of Henry VIII and their marriage was good and valid. Period.

  • Awesome video but I never understood what was with the silient bow between Henry and Mary. =)~

  • Poor Queen Mary.

  • I love this video! Mary is an amazing woman.

  • If Henry VIII had been a better father, things might turn differently for Mary

  • What episode is 0:24?

  • season 3 episode 2

  • Makes you wonder what her reign could of been like if her prick of a father treated her right and let her see her mother.

  • I know that she killed a lot of people during her rein, but I always felt sorry for Mary, her life was always full of hurt and betrayal and I really think that she believed she was doing the right thing when she killed all those Protestants. I'm not saying she was right to do it, she wasn't, but I admire her for always staying strong and true to her beliefs. If anyone is interested, I just read a really good book about Mary, it's called Mary, Bloody Mary by Carolyn Meyer- it's really good! :)

  • what episode is 2:50 from?

  • season 3 episode 4

  • I cried in 0:47, when Henry bows to Mary. The scene was so touching. How could he have declared her a bastard and made her wait on the infant Elizabeth?

  • @hangfirers i Hate BLOODY MARY! SHE A MURDER! ELIZABETH RULED BETTER THAN SHE DOES! CATHOLIC SUCKS!

  • @MilanaLaryssa369 Sweet child don't be so ignorant please, Elizabeth did better in history as she lived longer an in her later years as she followed in her fathers footsteps to become powerful. She had people executed too as most tudors, kings an Queens did that Mary could of had Elizabeth Executed but she loved her too much, she let her live. If Mary hated Elizabeth she would never have passed on the crown to her. Catholics / Protestants do not suck it's the powerful an their agenda that do!!.

  • @MilanaLaryssa369 she learned her behavior from her father. put yourself in her shoes one minute the most spoilt child in england then the next declared a basterd then forced into looking after looking after the child whom her mother had her mudered. notonly did she have physcial problems but she also had mental problems due to the stress of her father. she died of cancer. i know her reign brought alot of death but you cannot judge the catholics like me because of one mentally ill woman.

  • @MilanaLaryssa369 so is Elizabeth or did Mary Queen of Scots , Earl of Essex offered to have thier heads chopped off i think not .You cant say a religion sucks because of one person. ok she killed people in the name of her religion. Thirdly how can you hate someone that you never met and finally i bet you cant say if you didnt believe in someting strongly you wouldn't kill for it.

  • @hangfirers It was mostly annes withcraft that made him she didnt posion his body but she posioned his soul

  • @hangfirers I KNOW!!!! You are so right. I have been thinking of this all along.

  • I can't believe I haven't commented on this before!

It's amazing and so heartfelt, I love it!

Although I've never been keen on Jane Seymour, she brought Mary back to her father (and Elizabeth) and I'm so glad she did. Sarah Bolger is amazing as Mary!!

Well done, 5 stars & favourited! :D Xx

  • Good video and I liked how you showed Mary's feelings about her father.

  • ok i respact mary and all but jonathan rhys myers = the king is just so hoooooooooooottttttttttttttttttttttt

  • people should stop calling mary i "bloody mary" cause her half sister more than deserves that. how about this sobriquet for elizabeth i " BLOODY BETTY"

  • What about all the good Elizabeth did for England?

  • I think the point thethomasian17 is trying to make was that Elizabeth killed a lot of people in her reign too.But yeah Elizabeth still did many good things.

  • great video.

  • ok well i dont hate anne boleyn but yes she got tripped up in the end and got beat in her own game. but i'm really pissed that ppl call mary tudor bloody bc her half-sister elizabeth, who really was illegitimate, killed thousands of more ppl than mary did when it came to religious persecution..and theyre father was just a big fat slob who killed ppl basically bc he felt like it.

  • SAINT MARY!

  • what a good video!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • what ever her father, edward en Elizabeth I de virgin queen kill more people than mary for religious preferance, etc.

  • What a fitting Tribute to a amazing and Strong woman!

  • I dont think that this story change the history of the one who was called "Bloody Mary". She had many reasons to became that way. I only understand the human feelings, she had a cruel father, she was separated from his mother. And her country changed their religion only for a slotwoman like ana bolena. She must did all because it was correct.

  • ok, tell me how you call a woman that takes the housband of another woman who have a daugther in your country, and she planed to kill both

  • Sorry, I am a Woman!!!!

    With a Daughter,

    3 Sisters, 8 Aunts, & 5 Nieces, and I Grandmother, all who I adore.

And Yes Ann Boleyn Got exactly what was coming to her.And no Im not ugly or Fat, or Stupid, or Racist, just a Regular 21st Century Woman with A good Moral Code and a working Brain. I think she had a very Clean death, considering she was responsible for so many Priests and Monks being Tortured to Death,

    and For What,

To Shag with a Fat Old Man and Get POWER

  • no, you're a misogynist who can't understand the good Anne Boleyn did for your country. It was HENRY who caused the deaths of those people. Women who blamed Anne Boleyn for the deaths of those people make me sick. You're a misogynist, admit it!

  • I believe you.

  • uhh dude that was anne not mary

  • Hi Yeah, I know,

another u tuber got their nickers in a twist, about Anne Boleyn, while everyone else was talking about Mary Tudor,

  • Very nice video I must say. All I meant before was you can only judge people out of history by the history books. As far as this story and video goes, very nicely done.

  • I am very well versed in history. In her later life Mary did kill many people. However if you compare Mary's killing spree to her father's you will find that she comes up short. I find it ironic that when a man orders the deaths of many it is hardly mentioned, but when a women does the same she is crucified (talk about double standard). This video was created as a tribute to Mary when she was young as she struggled with the changes and hardships she was forced to endure.

  • I agree with you when you compare her to most English Kings, however, compared to Elizabeth I & II and queen Victoria, she was the worst English Queen. Remember the urban legend about bloody Mary and the rhyme "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary." these probably originate from the people of the time. Why?

  • As I said before this video was intended to show what it may have been like for a young girl to be abandon by her father. The tribute is to Mary as she was before the strain of ruling a divided nation. It was intended to convey an emotional message, one f strength, perseverance and determination. Anyone who has suffered a loss in their life can understand these feelings as they carry on with life. Please do not turn this comment page into a debate about what is in the past.

  • People forget, those were BRUTAL times.

I believe singling Mary Tudor out and calling her "Bloody" was due to anti-catholicism.

Mary never had a old woman literally hacked to death. Guess who did?

  • And if she'd been a man, no one would have called her Bloody. I don't like Mary, but I don't think she deserves the title of Bloody. Let a man commit murder, and he gets off, but let a WOMAN commit ONE murder and she's CONDEMNED to HELL!

  • @qxy333

Depends on how you define bad from good. Victoria, who endorsed the colonization and rape of India and a host of other colonial possessions, not to mention cavorting with the South during the Civil War just to get their cotton. Or Elizabeth, who presided over the executions of four to five times as many persons as did Mary, half of these innocent Irish peasants as a punitive measure against the rebellion of a few Irish lords.

  • @ligreekguy Thank you someone who really knows true history!.

  • @100percentbabeLOL

I must say that I am always a bit jumpy about opening up the responses to my pro-Mary comments, as some of them have been quite nasty, but yours is a breath of fresh air! People need to understand that it is the winners who write history, and if there had been no Waterloo, Napoleon would have gone down as a benevolent liberator. Mary clearly has bad marks on her record, but for the sake of accuracy and consistency, let us distribute the criticisms fairly. Thank YOU!

  • No, the same does definitely not apply to Che Guevara, I guess most Americans just see him as a rampaging murderer but in reality he was a revolutionary who set out to free Latin America from the oppressive clutch of the US. I agree that the fact that Mary was a woman has played a big part in her bloody reputation, but she did kill for choice, whereas Che killed to liberate millions of innocent people.

  • Except for the fact that Che killed dictators, evil men who had the blood of many innocent people on their hands, he killed to stop injustice and murder, although Mary just killed for religious preference.

  • Actually it's a little more complicated than that, anyway in no way was I really disagreeing with you in the first place all I was saying is that Che and Mary killed for entirely different reasons , and while Che killed murderous dictators, Mary brutally murdered the innocent.

  • Right on, Che was a hero!

  • @GoddessofHyrule i can see from your comments you are very closed minded, you have no idea what it is like to live in a country where you are oppressed. Che Guevara is a hero he gave many men and woman freedom, how can you possibly critise someone you obviously don't understand? Also Evita is not considered a demon, I think I would know since I am from Buenos Aires, she is a national hero just like Che.

  • Yeah, and her sister, who is considered an incredible role model, also slaughtered catholics. Being a ruler of a country means you have to be in power, back then, to be in power, you had to kill those involved in rebellions. And there were MANY rebellions against Mary because of Henry and Edward's Protestantism. Also, many officials weren't happy about losing their positions to the Catholic Church.

  • it is a really good video though

  • My prayers go up to the amazing Mary Tudor. She never gave up, just like her royal mother. God bless you both!!!

  • Definately great video to a great and gracious lady!

  • Mary tudor is definately a role model, she was such a strong gir/woman. THis song describes her perfectly. GREAT job

  • I liked this video as it shows Mary's feelings well.
