He had to release it back into field of play, then step back in and finalise the catch.

I believe this catch has all the potential to be the best catch ever. He had to time the jump to bounce the ball in the air and that too deflecting it inside the ropes while both his feet off the ground, the ease with which he did it kind of undermines the class of this catch. In the other similar sort of catch from Bollinger, he had both his feet on the ground and split second to think what he needs to do, though it does not take away the brilliance and presence of his mind.
