  • Out of curiosity how did you get the knob off to change the pot? I've had a hell of a time trying to remove it. Any help would be appreciated! =(

  • Hey Music Man can you share with me the wiring diagram ??? i want to do that in my jp6 too!

  • I like the sound you got at about 1:30 thats more my style

  • i have a stupid question... do u still have the ability to use the pot as a volume (or tone) pot when u pull it up, or do u have to put it back into "down" position to be able to use it as a normal pot?

  • where did you put you push pull pot??tone or vol????

  • @ichi612 its the volume. thats how it works

  • @ichi612 it's the tone pot that was replaced actually.

  • Do you still got the diagram can a i get please , have the same guitar ... Thanks

  • that sounds great ,could you send me a diagram too, thanks

  • may I have the diagram, thanks!! turbo_tse@yahoo.com .hk

  • quick question i have a guitar with a humbucker single coil humbucker setup with a 5 way switch but i can only use 1 humbucker at a time so if i got one of these put in would i be able to use both?

  • How much of a difference can you hear between the two inner coils by themselves? Is it as drastic as it normally is going between the bridge and neck hb's? I ask because i'm not sure if I want to get the outer or inner coils to be selectable.

    And, diagram please? : )

  • hey do you still have the wiring diagram..?? i want to try it on my bfr...

  • @MassimoPetrucci the bfr already has it

  • @kalmont84 the bfr only has the option to run both humbuckers at the same time or to use just the inner coils in the middle position. you don't have the option of just running neck as single coil or bridge as single coil.

  • diagram please? thanks

  • tell me if im wrong: when one knob is pushed down and turned it effects one pick up?

  • wow.great tone.

just got jp6 w/ piezo. can i do the push pull thingy even if it has the piezo?

if so, can i get the diagram also?

    again great tone.

  • ya please can u send me the diagram too...? thanx :)

  • so basiaclly the push pot does on your jp standard what it does on a jp bfr?

  • One diagramo to go, por favor [=

  • can you send me the diagram?

    Is it a regular jp6?

  • just curious, did you swap out the pickup too? or just had the push/pull pot installed to split the original pickups?

  • Just had the push/pull installed... although now (a year later) I have the new Petrucci DiMarzios installed!

  • Allright forum mate!:) Did you compared this push-pull with original petrucci?

    How's the new pick-ups?

    All the best

  • Would love the diagram as well if possible! Sorry to bother you!

  • Sent!

  • @MusicManJP6 Hey man! Not sure if you still have the diagram on file but I'd sure like to use it as well!

  • nice!!! y bought one for my ibanez, i'm trying to wire it, could you send me the diagram? it would be very helpful! Thanx! regards from argentina!

  • Diagram sent!

  • and one for me please)

  • Sent!

  • Thx)

  • Can u still use the tone controle with the push pull pot?

How much was to install the Knob?

  • Yep, tone knob is still functional as before. Cost me $15 for the pot and then an hour's labor.

  • was it free for the guy to put it in?

  • Can u send me the diagram please

  • hello, I'm want to do this mod, where can i find the diagram? can you put it on the web or send it to me? is it a special push pull pot or all the push pull pot are good?

  • hey mate, been thinking about this mod for a while (since you first posted it onthe EBMM forums. would you be able to PM me the diagram, im pretty keen to give it a go :)

  • Diagram sent - sorry for the delay!

  • tone pot was replaced with push/pull pot.

  • is the push pot the volume or the tone?

  • can you PM the diagram?

  • PM sent!

  • God damnit, that took balls man . . . To go into the inside of that thing. Sounds lovely, looks like bravery payed off. Did you get the piezo option? Would love to hear it.

  • No piezo or inlays. I prefer simplicity. The split coils sound amazing for sure!

  • Hey man, can you send me that wiring diagram?

  • There are plenty of wesites with a lot of wiring diragrams. Also forums who can draw a diagram after your wishes

  • notice in the info section that he has a special diagram that is different for those that are interested.

  • Yep, I already sent urrynater86 a diagram as requested along with a handful of others that asked for it. :)

  • Ew... True duo can't compare to a piezo system.

  • huh?

  • Very nice sound. I'm trying to connect a push/pull pot but I just can't do it right. Could you please send me the diagram your tech used or a picture of how it looks like? There's no one who can help me in the area I live.

    Thanks!

  • search seymour duncan's website for wiring diagrams

  • awesome guitar i'm thinking about gettin one how much did it cost you?

  • $1500

  • weak, this isnt no better than the ibanez true duo, (which i own) that costed 400 bucks!

  • To each his own! I'm happy with it.

  • Shame! this guitar does not compare to any ibanez not even a jem. I have spoken to 3 people who own this guitar who also own flash strats and gibson's that cost twice as much yet everyone i have met who have picked up this guitar fall in love.... similar to meeting your dream girl really and yes i own 2. 1 fully loaded and the other is standard. I love them both

  • Let us see some shredding on that beautiful baby!

  • haha - i would if i could!

  • Nice sounds! What settings are you using on the amp? Sounds nice and fat, yet still clear enough to hear what's goin on.

  • i've sold the amp so i have no idea what the settings were! I usually kept everything around 12:00 except the channel/master volume though...

  • Is the neck on this flat and wide like an ibanez neck or more round and squished like the MM luke i tried?

  • it's more like the wizard neck on ibanez guitars but it is a little thicker and rounder. It's not nearly as thick as the MM luke neck.

  • How is the nut of this model? I heard before that d-sonic model come with compensated nut do you know about this? thx for reading and patience

  • compensated nut and d-sonic both come standard on new models. The nut was 'upgraded' in late '05 and the d-sonic became the standard bridge pup in late '06 I believe. I prefer the older bridge pup for the standard JP, but the D-Sonic sounds great in the BFR version of the JP. HTH

  • Hi. I´m planning to purchase a JP6 Red Pearl Burst guitar. Could you please tell if there is a way for me to choose it with the headstock matched but without the piezo?

  • yep, that's how my Mystic Dream in this video was ordered. Matching headstock but no inlays or piezo...

  • Does the trem stay in tune well?

  • yes, perfectly.

  • i love your clean sounds and playing...

  • thanks! just noodling really to show off the extra tones available...

  • hey dude, im a jp website forumite of yours, i got the diagram from the forum, but for some reason, the pushed middle position is not working,. can i get the diagram from you through here? i might be missing something. thanks man

  • Great Sound!!! Can i have the wiring diagram? im so interested... thanks and keep rockin'.

  • Nice work on the sound switching! Really helpful vid this as I'm thinking of doing something similar with my new axe. Think I could get a copy of that wiring scheme too? PLS

And congrats on your Mystic Dream Ernie Ball MusicMan John Petrucci sig guitar!!! ;)

  • Oh shit, and can i have the writing diagram?

  • Thanks! I'll send you a message about the diagram ASAP...

  • dude that tone is orgasmic at around 1:40. and did you write those riffs yourself? They sound incredible.

  • nice guitar man!!i love it

  • maybey beter than floyd but not the edge pro

  • great.

    i need the wiring diagram.

please mail it to me, thanks.

  • great

  • How do you like that vintage trem? Does it stay in tune as well as a Floyd? Where are the fine tuners?

  • The JP trem beats the pants off a Floyd! It stays in tune no matter how hard I am on it. No fine tuners are needed - the locking Schallers do the job just fine...

  • dude i like that guitar.. how does the mystic finish looks like in person?? does it get dirty easily with fingerprints?

  • Very nice man! I like the idea of having the single coils on the JP, think I am gonna have a tech rewire mine as well.

  • I have a wiring diagram if you need one

  • That sounds great Adam! When the switch is in the bridge position and you have the tone pulled, its just 1 coil from the bridge correct?

  • Yes, it is the inner coil that is active in that position. The same goes for the pulled middle and neck positions. The inner coils are the better sounding of the four (not too bright or dark)

  • correction: the pulled middle position is both inner coils from both pups...

  • That sounds great! Has your BFR been shipped yet?

  • Thanks! THe BFR hasn't shipped yet... :( ANY day now though
