I have the same car but an 02 model and yes they are faster than the 997 version featured in this clip. Too many electronics in the new 911 and different turbo setup. I'd much rather have my 911 than the 997 version.

I call bull on that....the new 997's are a lot faster than the old 911's of the past. You can see the specs on the Porsche website.

Sorry yes you are right, mine is the X50 model and its been tuned so i suppose i was referring to mine but yes the new 997's are quicker than the past 911's

I don't doubt a special edition tuned one can be faster than a new stock one. But stock for stock the new ones are faster. You are very lucky. I really want one of these 2007 or newer 911's but they cost so much. Too bad they are not 30k or so.

consistently a profession driver can probably pull that off, and tests are done in low elevation areas and its almost damn near imposible to get a 0-60 opf 3.7 seconds if thats what the test was, unless you have some excellent traction with some magical street tire..

This car can do it in around 3.4 seconds with an automatic transmission and that's conservative. Professional drivers have gotten it down to around 3.2 seconds.

probably. Usually numbers the companies give are pretty conservative. Numbers magazines give are usually prime conditions as you described.

Yeah, the car is a complete monster with the Tiptronic. I think Road and Track got the 0-60 time on this car down to 3.2 seconds. I don't understand why Porsche understates the 0-60 times though.

ya fo sho well road and track is 3.3 stock with the tiptronic mode and edmunds got it their fastest car ever tested with 3.4 0-60 so the car is basically crazy :)

I've heard they do it to ensure the everyday drivers of their cars can match the times. 3.7 as an understatement is pretty sick too :)

It looked like 4 ish 0-60. Not all conditions are perfect, my last car did 0-60 in around 8 where C&D says 6.3, weather and altitude plays a big part.

the reason why some of you may think it's sow because of the minimal turbo lag in first gear. once the turbo kicks in, you can clearly the digital disply was jumping!

Trust me, I was flooring the hell out of it, in sports mode with the Chrono package on, which further enhances the turbo boost.
