Saw them in Bracknell but that whole time is a fog...
After the gig, we drove to the Severn Bridge and admired the lights as we re-entered earth's orbit. The memories of a man in his (getting) old age, are the deeds of a bloody great time.
I watched Man many times and also once saw Mickey Jones playing in the Craddock Pub in Port Talbot. Their influence in Welsh music is well documented and really it was a pleasure always to watch their style of rock. I was at the Mickey Jones benefit gig in Pontardawe and bought at auction the green spotted shirt he wears in this video. It is treasue & will remain in Wales. Thanks for the music and to Mickey Jones my respects to your life in music. RIP Mickey Jones
The echo bit from Mickey on the guitar was always a highlight in the 80s gigs - he would do something different every night and wait to see what was gonna echo -
bye mikey thanks you and the boys for the music man are one of my favorite bands and i had the pleasure of seeing you on four occasions. Mickys guitar playing and voice was something else
Some guitar players stroll through their careers, a very few fly ... but Micky soared to places others could barely even imagine.
I will miss his quiet, gentle personality and his awesome talent. I am so sad I will never hear him play guitar again, he enriched so many lives. Rest easy Michael.
@AdrianAngove This I did not realise. A sad sad loss to be sure. The wee man was a magician on guitar but his playing will last on. For me it'll make it even more special when I listen to the band. RIP Mickey and rock on, with respect Deke.
@AdrianAngove ----------Well said sir. he was exactly as you descibed him. We (a band I was with) supported Man in Harrow about 6 years ago and having a chat and drink with Micky and the rest of the band was really something else. So damn good. And YES a lovely bloke. He will be sadly missed RIP Micky Jones (Guitarist and Vocalist - Man)

i have heard this track so many times live and recorded and every time its different because of the improvised harmonising guitar work by mickey jones he is an absolute legend...get well soon bro
Wonderful (extremely old/vintage) footage of Mickey Martin Pugwash and Deke. They look well into it (in more ways than one!), but I remember so many great nights at the original Marquee Club. Can we have some more please Mister!!! We were back on the fertival circuit this summer (wouldn't have missed it for the world), and posted some footage on our channel. Enjoy and look forward to seeing you all again very very soon. Go easy and keep on Crinting - just remember "Many are called but........."
I remember seeing Man for the first time in Edinburgh in 1974. Found it strange when going in to the concert there was a number of people with brown paper bags in their hands. (This was in the age before strip searches to get into a concert)
Then when Man played Bananas it all became obvious what was in the bags. Yes you have guessed it! A load of bananas were thrown in the direction of the stage. Happy Days!!!!!!!!!
isnt the vid from the HTV documentary-Farewell MAN from the Roundhouse...when they first decided enough is enough....pity they are still playing without Mickey and Deke they are not the same.....best left to alone
I take your point, but Man is really an 'innovation network' with a large cast of one-time, present and future members. It is a social institution. Back Into the Future sort of sums up the idea of how Man operates, errr, sociologically speaking. Kind of. There is always just enough kinship to keep the line of decent running for Man. Evolution. Seven Ages of Man, with rock DNA running through it all.
Well put Steffan, totally agree. There is a core Man band but they are capable of being Man without Terry, Deke or Mickey, to be honest they have been before. Deke has come and gone, so has Terry and many others. Yes it is sad that that old core are no longer together but the soul, heart and spirit of Man remains in the music, fans, younger musicians now playing. Unlike Little Feat without Lowell George there never was one front man in Man it was a true Group and always will be.
I just wish they'd knock on my front door and say 'Steffan, we need a side-man on rhythm guitar; have you any space rock riffs?' Hard Way to Live... but worth it. Imagine the sound of every bit of applause for every song they played, ever... but all that applause sounding at once. That's their total contribution to global happiness. It would make the 'Bunsfield' explosion sound small by comparison.
Mmmm.... but isn't it strange how we are no longer about 26 years old anymore? If I ever have to live in a rest home, I hope we get visiting rock bands to come and play for us, and all get to smoke some whacky baccy.
Was not talking about individual tracks..the vid was called Bananas and thats what I was trying to tell you...antway at least you found it which is a result..
Hi Paul Tucker - this is great don't you think? A nice take modern on what we got into in late 70s. Cheers Neil

Quite so! MAN without Mickey and Deke is like Hamlet without the prince, bread without butter, fish without chips...you get the picture!
