  • throw the smarty in the trash and get a bullydog

  • how can you manage your exhaust gas temperatures again? and will an intercooler help with making more power?

    stock turbo?

  • Wont this hurt you in high altitude?

  • @thebrizzell - shouldn't

  • Hey I had s question for ya on the smarty tuner im running on my truck s67me it says to keep the egr motor plugged in or will result in goin into a limp mode and losing about 40 hp did you keep yours plugged in and if so where did you hide it at? Any answers would be greatly appreciated I am expecting my egr/cooler delete to arrive any minute now so I can tear that shit off!!!

  • @MrJbchow - I just unplugged it. I have put 20,xxx miles on the truck with the deletes and she runs like a champ and pulls like a shit brick house.

  • Just checking my friend ...how's the truck been running ???? any new updates ???? p.s. does the smarty tuner stay connected ????? if so where ya have it tied up at or hidden ???? or does it just download into the truck and then just disconnect and don't worry about it ???

  • @abikerinpa - the truck is running amazing! smarty is a one time plug in, download the software, then un-plug and put in closet.

  • @lawnguy06 hey.. just wondering .. have you had any head gasket issues? just bought a 6.7 and trying to figure out what to do ... heard if you do all the egr deletes and put a tune on .. to much drive pressure.. would a waste gate fix that? thanks alot

  • @mmkropp - no head gasket problems. Truck has never had a single issue. not sure about a waste gate. I don't think it is necessary unless you are running high boost #'s

  • where do you live? i live in texas and am moving to new mexico and dont want to get in trouble for all that bs not being on!

  • @airhornwaggon - Missouri

  • i have a 2008 ram 3500 quad short box, 4x4 6 spd manual. im planning on doing all the deletes as well. i have 3:73 ratio and i get 16 to 17 in the city and 20 to 21 hwy already, can't wait to see what i get after the delets. thanks for the video. i know where to get the rite parts and cost of deletes now.

  • @truckdriver062 - you truck will feel like a whole new beast once the deletes are none. it feels like it will run forever.

  • If any of you guys or gals are from mass what do you do when you take it in for expection sticker?

  • I'm new to the diesel life. In ballpark figures, about how much did the total bill run for all these mods combined. Also, would any of these changes adversely affect performance in sub-zero weather. (I'm from North Dakota.)

  • @wyattdph - I estimate I spend no more then $1,800.00 - The mods would NOT affect the performance in cold weather. Best money I have ever spend.

  • @wyattdph also depends what you have for a truck, i just got a 5.9l cummins.. and i dumped just over 1300 for a 4inch straight pipe, AFE cold air intake, high ram intake, edge ez chip

  • I'm looking to do all these deletes soon but just wondering how difficult is it to do it yourself? I don't want to second guess myself if I install something wrong... Let alone on the side of the road? So far I have pillar gauges, EGR delete, 5" exhaust w/6" tip, cold air intake, I just ordered the smarty Jr. What am I missing? your help will gladly be appreciated. Thanks

  • @salseromano - have you installed anything yet? Did you by a turbo back exhaust? Looks like you have everything you need. You can also order the Mega-Flo Billet Throttle Valve Delete.Otehr then that you should be good. Installation on everything is not that hard if you have the proper tools.

  • @lawnguy06.... HOLLY $h!7... What a difference, Just got it out of the shop. Did all the install minus the throttle valve, and what a difference it made. 100% better, took it out for a short drive and the power is unbelievable... Thanks a lot for the video and the insight.

  • @salseromano - glad to hear your very happy. Enjoy the beast!

  • Awesome video!! Shows everything that needs done to these 6.7s to make them breathing diesel beasts!!

  • @BigSlim705 - thank you. wish everyone that has a 6.7 would do this.

  • looks and sounds awsome, could you do some drive by vids?

  • @black2005gt - I can do that.

  • you have respect for the diesel enginge. sounds awsome

  • @idbw - thanks!

  • was it easy to do all the deletes yourself and how long did it take

  • @blackneydavid - it took a full day but it was worth it - hardest part is getting the EGR cooler off - after that everything is a cake walk.

  • does your check engine light stay on or is it off now after the deletes?

  • @trpigg - check engine light has never come on. smarty is great.

  • @lawnguy06 Why smarty...what do you think about h&s tuners?

  • Lawnguy i have been having death wobble in my 08 and the has never been off roadin that has nothing to do with it most trucks having issues are 100% stock . The truck has 80000 kms and new track bar duel steering shock and brand new tires and even an new alinement .

  • @craigtreeguy - i have heard of the death wobble - i have 50,000 miles on my truck and have never experienced it. hopefully i never do. I've heard it happens when the ball joints wear down or when the tie rod gets loose.

  • @lawnguy06 BD has a fix for the death wobble problem i put the whole adjustable track bar and frame stiffener cross bar on and holy it makes my truck run straight down the hwy and handle better never had a problem in 86thousand km

  • thanks for the video big help on what to get but i wish it would of went smoother i encounter the problem when i got the H&S delete kit the block off where the coolant comes out my coolant temp was hitting 200 to 210 regular driving unlike the 2008 models the 2010+ its a rigid plug in where the coolant comes out to cool the EGR to anybody with a 2010 and up who did the EGR delete who wants to run the coolant hose to the engine just like this video get the SHIBBY KIT it comes with coolant kit

  • got a part # for h & s ??? deleates ???

  • @abikerinpa I do not - i just went online to KLM Performance - talked to one of the owners that has a 6.7 cummins and did everything he suggested. Sure glad I did.

  • it is looking like i am going to get that truck my friend and i was curious on what kind of smarty you bought cause i read the dodge diesel forums and they say to get started to get a smarty , pull the EGR plunger, and unplug the throttle valve... done ;-), but i would love to have on that truck what you have done my new friend

  • Comment removed

  • i am looking at buying a 2007 duelly with 11,000 miles on it and they want $31,000 for it , is it a good truck and would you recommend buying it ????

  • @abikerinpa - I would buy it - $31,000 is exactly what the truck is worth. If you plan on keeping the truck for awhile - I would strongly spend the money and do the exact same deletes as I did. Your mileage will increase and the reliability of the truck will be superior. Good luck!

  • @lawnguy06 Thank you sir and i was planning them mods as well , that polluttion shit wrecks these newer trucks from what i have heard

  • @abikerinpa - The emmisions crap is NO good for diesels. Once you do the mods you will see just what type of crap is going back into the engine. It's scary.

  • @abikerinpa sound like a fair deal. If its 4wd then the price is about right. 6.7 or 5.9?

  • @MrKylepearce it is the 6.7 and 4x4 regular cab

  • Nice job. Did the same thing to mine. Runs like a truck now, not some EPA mandated piece of crap.

  • @akretowicz - Hell yeah! I fucking hate when I see emissions crap on semi's and machinery. It's Bullshit. They are much more efficient and reliable without that crap. Long live diesels!!

  • @akretowicz are you still able to get it inspected? have they not been strict about all the emission crap?

  • @MrKylepearce We do not have emissions checks in my state. Thanks God! Most of the checks on diesels is the smoke check, and perhaps a visual check. If so, hollow out your NOX and DPF. My truck smokes hardly at all without all this crap on it. Modern diesels are really clean burning even without the emissions junk on them.

  • @akretowicz - The 6.7 is naturally a very clean burning engine. She can put out smoke if you want but overall they are not to dirty.

  • @MrKylepearce - my truck is exempt from emmisions. It is based on the GCVW

  • Hey man great video! I had one question...what kind of fuel mileage do you get with the chip and the new exhaust system? I been thinking about buying a 6.7 but afraid the fuel mileage will suck even with the egr delete. I'd appreciate some feedback.

  • @MrKylepearce - fuel mileage is way better with the deletes. I get 16 city and 22 highway. Before the deletes I got 13 mpg. I would buy a 6.7 again in a heart beat, but I would do the exact same stuff that I did to my truck. the 6.7 is an amazing engine. once you do the deletes like I did - it pretty much becomes a super reliable and durable truck that gets much better mileage. are you buying new or used?

  • @lawnguy06 I'm buying a used. I have a 1999 Dodge diesel 4x4 truck but I'm upgrading now. Did you do all the deletes yourself? How much horsepower are you pushing now? I've heard these trucks are known to do the "death wobble" has your truck had any sign of this?

  • @MrKylepearce - whats wrong with ur 1999 diesel - those motors run forever. I did all the deletes myself. I'm fairly certain I have a good 400hp and 750ft/lb of torque. I could tell there was a huge increase in power after the mods. death wobble <--- never had it happen. seen it on youtube - looks crazy - but I take very good care of my truck and don't go off roading or put stress on the steering box.

  • CUMMINS TURBA DIESAL!!!

  • DID YOU DO ALL THE WORK YOURSELF AND WERE DID YOU GET ALL THE PARTS.

  • @jas336 - Did it all myself - I bought 90% of everything from KLM Performance and 1 thing from Glacier Diesel Performance. WORTH EVERY PENNY! trust me

  • I HAVE A 2008 5500 AND THE FUEL MILEAGE IS 10 M.PG. I WANT TO DO ALL OF THE SAME THINGS YOU HAVE DONE. WHAT WAS THE TOTAL COST? THANKS

  • @jas336 - total cost was between $1,500-$1,700. BUT it is worth every single penny. Trust me. Your truck will get much better fuel mileage and will pull like a freight train. Do the 60hp tune with NO timing on the Smarty - it is 100% safe for tranny and does NOT effect the reliability. I bought 90% of everything from KLM Performance and 1 thing from Glacier Diesel Performance. I wish I would have done the deletes a long time ago. You will be super happy once you do the deletes.

  • where the fuck are my keys lol

  • did you buy your truck used?

  • @777worldliner - I bought it new in 2008

  • @lawnguy06 cool

  • u dont have a warnnty any more,

  • @peytonjj1 - heck with the warranty - The way this truck runs now - it feels like it will run to a million miles.

  • have you had any problems with the back egr cooler gasket mine always leaks and makes a whistle noise at like 2 psi

  • @pantiesoup - I have had Zero problems since the delete. I would highly recommend the deletes.

  • @lawnguy06 i have done the delets long time ago u can see my video on you tube. what i was asking is if you have had any problems with your block off plate at the back on the exhaust manifold. i have gone through 3 gaskets and made a custom gasket that worked ok, they only last about a couple of months just woundering if you had any problems with this

  • What did it do to your mpg's?? Better or worse??

  • @drth1981 - much much better

  • Hey bud.. I finally ordered mine, I have the Smarty and egr delete, but the exhaust comes in tomorrow.. One thing after readiing the smarty and egr delete. it says to leave your Actuator motor on the egr plugged in and ziptie it out of the way. the smarty may be taking care of the cell, but by unpluggging this it puts you into limp mode, which is a 40 hp loss. which you might no have noticed since you're running 70hp really you're only gaining 30hp's .. let me know what you think. I read it.

  • @james92y - i didnt leave anything on and she has run flawless. She didn't go into limp mode that's for sure lol, the truck has a massive amount of power now.

  • @lawnguy06 You don't have the smarty jr. do you ? Part of my instructions was to pull the plunger out of the egr actuator motor, leave it plugged in and ziptie in a safe place. ? so if you have the smarty Sr. that may be why. maybe the sr. doesn't require the acutaor intact.

  • @james92y I meant egr valve , not acutator motor ..

  • I have all the same deletes as you on a 08' 6.7 except for the throttle body delete witch is just unpuged for now as it says to in my Smarty manual. The manual also says to leave the EGR accuator motor pluged in and just to tie it off to the side out of the way....did you have to do the same thing or were you able to unplug it, I didnt see it in your vid???

  • @krmns1 - I just unplugged everything and stripped off anything related to emissions crap. Super easy to do and the truck has run perfectly. I recommend spending the $85 and getting the throttle body delete.

  • what did it cost you to do all of this?

  • @ladanceaz - around $1,500. Worth every penny!

  • Well i got everything deleted and ran last night. she ran like a champ. went on about a 40 mile trip and i ended up getting about 18 mpg. pretty good but i've seen better before, but i'm sure this will make it more consistent. now i just need to find the time to put my new clutch in and meg (my truck) will be pretty much brand new!

Thanks for posting this video. it helped me out soo much!!

  • @mrjmarcotte22 - awesome news!! Welcome to the club lol

  • so with the smarty does your truck actually blow smoke a little now too? did you do the upgrades yourself

  • @magnusdeus24 - It will blow a little black smoke if you get on it, which I don't mind once in a while.

  • yeah i'm deleting everything just waiting on a few parts. had to order a gasket for my intake manifold and the stupid ups messed up and i didn't get it today. i was reading some info about the smarty and it was giving these certain instructions on the process of deleting the egr and dpf. did you do anything with it or just put the deletes on and go. i already have to smarty uploaded because of it being straight piped. just curious if you did anything. i have the sarty jr.

  • @mrjmarcotte22 - I took everything off and installed my full deletes. Then at the end I installed my smarty. Everything has been perfect ever since installing it. I love my huge increase in MPG

  • i'm in the process of deleting my egr/cooler. i have it straight piped with a smarty junior. i was getting a surge sometimes with quite a bit of smoke coming out. i was thinking it was because of the egr clogged. i had a code pop up saying it was clogged. are you having much smoke? i'm hoping that this will help it from smoking so much. nice truck. mine is the exact same but just a mega cab. love that color!

  • @mrjmarcotte22 - that doesn't sound good. I have everything deleted. I would strip the egr asap. Go online to KLMperformance and order yourself a EGR Delete Kit. It is cheap and looks cool. I don't have any smoke except for a little black soot sometimes on start up. Take it from me - strip your truck of ALL emmisions crap and your truck will run like a champ! The pearl redfire is my favorite color on my truck.

  • I'm in the process right now on putting on the deletes. i also have the smarty junior. did you have to do anything special before putting this all on, or did you just put it on and start. i already have it straight piped and everything. got tired of it surging and i think it was because of my egr being clogged. does it smoke more now. mine is smoking pretty bad but i think it's caused by the egr and everything clogged. the soot is horrible inside the egr and butterfly valve

  • Im ordering my 2011 2500 this week. What would you recomend auto trans or the manual. Im a diesel tech so putting in an upgraded clutch would be no problem. I just don't know how to rebuild an auto trans if I use it to rough. Wish they had allison trans.

  • @Damotapics - I have been extremely happy with my auto. I pull my dual tandem gooseneck and bobcats that brings my truck GCVW to 25,000lbs and it pulls and shift perfectly. The Aisin transmission is very durable. I do recommend doing the deletes if you plan to keep your truck for a long time. The MPG increase alone is worth spending the money.

  • hey man. nice truck. cant wait to do this on mine a couple years down the road. i got a 2010 but so far only 24 000km on it. all city driving =/ i tow slob cats too. got a video of me towing.

  • @MrCraigmire123 - I watched your video - I liked it. I wish I got a 3500 SRW on my truck. Oh well it still pulls my bobcats and gooseneck just fine. If you want to keep your truck for a long time I highly recommend doing the deletes asap. You will be surprised how much crap the EGR puts back into the motor and how restrictive the DPF and DOC are. The thing you really have to look out for is your EGT's.

  • @lawnguy06 i would love to do the deletes but i kind of like having warranty. just recently i had an o2 sensor module needing to be replaced, my check engine light had come on. i would hate to have to pay for crap like that.

  • @MrCraigmire123 - my dealership said they would still warranty my trucks engine even with my deletes. They said the 6.7's run so much better with no emissions crap. They honored that because a few days after talking to them about my warranty I had my water pump go out and that was covered under the engine warranty. They said as long as the truck is left at a stock HP setting and not tuned up they have no problem.

  • @lawnguy06 Lucky for you. when i asked the service adviser ad my dealership about doing a straight pipe exhaust he raised his voice quite loud and seemed mad and said "You change one thing on that truck; i will void EVERYTHING!!! I WILL VOID YOUR POWER TRAIN, I WILL VOID YOUR ENGINE!" it was weird. yeah i really want to do my deletes but...

  • @MrCraigmire123 - well that guys sounds like an asshole! he must be a tree hugger. I am all about having a clean environment, but when you delete the emissions crap off these trucks they get 4-5 mpg better. In the long run it seems better off to just let the diesels be dirty. Who knows

  • @lawnguy06 4-5MPG? holy smokes!!! i was thinking like 2 and possible 3 for highway. Dayumm really makes me want to do my deletes now. i will see what happens in a week or 2 with my business; if i end up doing hot shotting/pilot truck services ill do the deletes right away. i just had the truck back in the shop, engine light came back on again, was an open circuit some where on the o2 sensor line going to the exhaust. they spent hours on it they said. i couldnt imagine paying for that crap

  • @lawnguy06 i know that's kind of a catch 22 cuz if i did the DPF+EGR delete i wouldnt have to worry about an o2 sensor +EGR but just any little thing like that i feel i should keep my 100 000km powertrain and 160 000km engine warranty. in the USA they get a 100 000MILE warranty. lucky mofos even though all the parts are the same, figure that out hahaha

  • @MrCraigmire123 - i say hell with the warranty, these engines are built to last a VERY VERY long time, just keep up on the maintenance - I have 50,000 miles on my truck and I have never once been to the shop except for a new water pump. I change my oil and filter every 3,000 miles with Full Synthetic Rotella 5W-40 since I pull around my bobcats. make sure to change your CCV filter at 40,000 miles.

  • @lawnguy06 smart man!! rotella all yhe way!!!!!

  • @junior21804 - I run 5W-40 Fully Synthetic Rotella in all m bobcats as well. It is excellent oil.

  • Awesome video. My cummins will have this when I buy it. Im trading in my raptor this week. They are no diesel. Do you know how much power the manual trans can hold by any chance.

  • @Damotapics - Not sure how much more the manual tranny can hold. I believe it may be more.

  • @Damotapics There only good for about 80hp over stock on a 6spd then you will need to upgrade your clutch cost you about 1500 bucks thats with install.

  • @lawnguy06 If it was on the cooler side, maybe grid heaters, but had mine dim when reving, It actually cuts the grid heater off when i rev over a certain rpm. hmm... nice truck though.

  • how much does all the cost? cuz im about to do this.

  • @randytune88 - most everything was purchased from KLM Performance online. Total was $1,500 -but it is worth EVERY PENNY!

  • @lawnguy06 okay yeah i bet i hear that shit fucks with the motor bad and you gain some hp and fuel economy too

  • Did younotice your headlights dimming when you were reving ? .. what causes that ?

  • Thanks for the video .. Looking to do the same on my 07... can't wait

  • @james92y - it is worth every penny
