The sky is falling? In a little more than a year almost no trace of this oil spill will be found is my prediction. Every major oilspill for the last 30 years have been exaggerated 10 to 100 times in my experience, maybe a 1000 times too.

One way to prevent this from happening again might be for the New World Order One World Government to execute the top ten executives at BP...not simply charge $20 billion or $20 trillion or whatever amount, because consumers will just end up paying for it in the end, all the while continuing to pay the salaries and lifestyles of the leading criminals.

One of these guys is talking about magma coming into contact with oil? This is sounding alarmist. The earth crust varies between 5 to 40 miles thick around the globe. (Oceanic crust is at the thin end of this scale). (Magma lives under the crust). I don't know the thickness of the earth crust in this area, but there is no reason for magma to come into contact with this oil well, unless there's a nearby active volcano or something like that.

If that was to happen then it will happen. The point is that it even if this happened, my guess is that it may slightly increase pressure in the oil reservoir, but not much more.

I think you are supposed to think it would cause an explosion or something. Bollox.

(For explosions you need methane and oxygen - there is no oxygen until you get to the sea surface). This is scaremongering I'd say.

There will be nasty gases and people may get sick and lots of animals will die and later, perhaps stormy weather will make things worse etc.

This is a good vid. Especially the pics of the fukin birds suffocating in oil. This stuff is nasty. This stuff burns when they swallow it and it destroys their insulation etc. It's a fukin sad time for these beasts who are just trying to live.

@zalida100 I understand Magma chamber rupture is unlikely but it doesnt mean it cant happen. He never said it would happen he says "if" and goes on to explain if it happens were basically fucked. I know some pieces of the info may be exaggerated (ex: 100000psi) but the shock value is worth it. then again it may not be exaggerated only time will tell. But the attention to the severity of this spill is what i was going for especially when Obama is addressing the nation with lies,

It's probably preferable not to have magma touching an oil reservoir I suppose, but even then you could argue that if there was a really big outflow of magma to the sea bed because of a weakened seabed (i.e. volcanic eruption) then perhaps it would even seal the reservoir. (unlikely)

All I'm saying is that the risk of a magma rupture is probably the same whether the oil well was drilled correctly or not. We just have no info, really.Cheers

I dunno why there arent 120,000 small boats up and down the coast rowing out to pick up a barrel each a day. This is a physical-world national emergency. The gov are doing FA. Where are the millions of folks turning up to the coast to defend their livelihoods, their country? Pushing paper somewhere? I cant understand this
