I just did it, thats why i type in honey hash oil just to make sre mine came out the same and it did. Make it sometime. I used my own homemade extractor and it worked perfectly if not better than the honeybee

Better off with 100% (if possible).

I found that acetone is pretty good, as is IPA (isopropanol).

By far the best other than butane is chloraform though, it's safer than IPA and acetone in certain circumstances.

On a serious note, chloraform seems to dissilve much less of the chlorophyl and plant matter than either of the above.

I would recomend doing it with chloraform and then after evaporation, dissolve the oil in alcohol and soak or inject some small cigars with the mixture!

They actually sell something like 5 times refined butane in shops where they sell the honeybee extractor kits. so no there isnt anything left over, the butane evaporates very quickly at warmer temperatures and if theres no scent marker or chemicals additives then what you have is 100% pure rip your face off honey oil.

You definitely do NOT have to do this step indoors, and I frankly cannot recommend doing it anywhere besides outside...I shoot my solution onto pyrex already double boiling (ALL OUTSIDE)...and it does not come inside until all the butane is purged

Yes, I shoot the butane solution directly onto a double boil. The pyrex dish I shoot my solution onto is already warm.  No need for a hot plate as I am already purgin. It's merely another method which serves the exact same purpose.

Case in point: my BHO does not come inside until ALL butane is purged...and that's the way I recommend other people to do it.

I do it indoors, right after I harvest I do it in my grow room (more like closet) with all fans and ventilation on.

You should be fine as long as you have plenty of ventilation and ALWAYS remember to smoke lots of a cigarettes while your doing it, maybe also get some incense burners.

Yeah if the bowl was wider in the very bottom it would work out nicer im sure. However, I would add some warm/hot water near the very end. The butane seemed to be having a hard time boiling out of the reduction once it got thick. Hot water helps u boil the last of the butane out .... but u would need like a flat tupperware container to scrape things around and let it boil out faster.

This guy seems to like his oil so to each their own.
