  • THANK YOU!! i have been looking for this for a month ha ha.

  • Comment removed

  • Cinemax in HD. Did we not mention that??

  • Also, anyone know who did the music? An instrument around 0:19 makes me want to say NJJ (an instrument similar to that appears in some of the music they did for Fox's NFL and NHL coverage).

  • The Cinemax Opening (Long Version) was also seen on a 1994 airing of "My Girl 2" starring Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anna Chlumsky and Maculay Culkin until Cinemax took it off the air in 1995 due to performance problems with HBO, Time Warner Entertainment Company, Columbia Pictures Industries and Cable TV. I Don't Know Why or How it was moved to a different station in 1996.

  • @befron2012 They even used it with A Thing Called Love.

  • I remember watching this. It never used to scare me but I sat in front of the TV to watch it every time it come on. It was joyful!

  • Ahh yes, how memorable the 1994 Golden Ushers feature presentations are, but I still like both versions of the Cinemax paint palette presentations better as well as the HBO feature presentations during those times. The music on them was so memorably, catchy and so sticky that I would actually whistle to them unconsciously at school. Even some of the teachers caught on to the tunes and asked me why I was watching paid TV at my age (7-14 yrs).

  • I'm not old enough to remember this at all and I think it's a masterpiece. One of the highlights is the bit right before the end, the contrast between the darkness and the light (as the logo swivels from backwards to forwards).

  • used from 1994-september 1997.

  • it looks pretty inpressive cgi for the 90's! how long did it last?

that's want i wanna ask. and are there 2 short versons or 3?

    i wanna know.

  • @xShesSoRecklessx It made it's debut in 1994 and was ousted in 1997.

  • I remembered this! This was shown around 1997 and it was very good. I was around 9 or 10 and I remembered watching the popcorn and candy dancing down the steps. They had a short version of this as well, and I hated it. I liked the longer version way better.

  • I remember this, the 1st movie I watched from this bumper was white mans burden with John trovolta...

  • @smarty5586 You Spelled his name wrong.

  • I wish I was the one with the flash light I could make a fool out of myself by jumping off of the movie reel shown before the cinemax logo appears.

  • I don't remember seeing this Cinemax into, however not a bad one.

  • in 1 september 1993-1997

  • I Really Love The Cinemax Opening The Long Verison Becuase I Really Like It!

  • The music on this intro is fantastic, too bad you didn't have the ratings bump.Still cool though.

  • Excelente música

  • I remember this, THANKS

  • NOSTALGA!!!!

  • @jacko39

    nostogalia 2 u

  • Do you have the part of: The following movie is rated...

  • I wish I did but I don't think I have the video cassette with this on it anymore otherwise I'd re-digitize it. It was originally digitized on a Mac 8100/80av computer.

  • A Mac 8100? OMG... you really did a great job!

  • @simon0csv

    sounds like goosebumps theme

    we should do a mashup

  • (C) 1994 Home Box Office A Division Of Time Warner Company L.P.

  • (C) 1994 Home Box Office A Division Of Time Warner Cable L.P.

  • Awesome Thanks!!

  • RE: to camirincon

  • yeah baby!

  • Where did you get this?

  • I recorded it direct from air years ago and imported into my ancient Mac 8100/80av.

  • This is what I'm looking for.

  • when ever i see that bucket of popcorn it makes me wanna have some popcorn myself

  • no, it's from 1994

  • ¿porque 1995? si el cortico del cabezote de cinemax de los 90 debeser del mismo año

  • ummmmmmmmmm.... what?

  • La Intro larga de cinemax debe ser de 1992.

  • This is the CINEMAX that all loved. Somebody have the part: The following movie is rated R?

  • More Cinemax clips

  • Wow. This is the version I remember seeing before movies like "Brainstorm", "Jade", and Shannon Tweed flicks like "Scorned". I believe Cinemax started using this intro in 1994 and dropped it in 1997. Since they don't have a movie intro today, they should consider updating this.

  • I know. Only Encore/Starz and HBO still use intros. Cinemax and Showtime/TMC need to bring them back like they did in the old days.

Cinemax doesn't even do commercials anymore but just random clips from movies.

  • cooooool they don't do commercials just like the BBC lol

  • Cinemax at its finest!

  • Excellent!

I've only seen the hacked up opener of this!
