  • He Sounds like Andy Williams.

  • @MrAaronLadner, and Scrabble.

  • What the Winner's Board in affect at this time on SALE?

  • as a born and bred Canadian kid of the 70s..Jim Perry was a huge part of my tv watching days way back when..we only got 2 tv channels..I remember Jim Perry very well.. :-)

  • @darthchaosofrspw2009 Do you have the link to that Blogger page?

  • Jim retired after Sale got cancelled in 1989.

  • I never knew he could sing. I always liked Jim Perry! Great game show host! What ever happened to him?

  • Was Jm still doing the nighttime version of SALE at the time?

  • WOW! He's really good. This might have been from a long time ago, but he is a better vocalist than any popular musicians today.

  • I have to say, Jim Pery has a KICK ASS Singing Voice.

  • Damn, Jim sure can sing!

  • I remember Jim Perry from Card Sharks and Sale of the Century. I want to see Sale of the Century on GSN.

  • @MrAaronLadner Well, if the people at both NBC and Fremantle Media would stop being a bunch of stupid and selfish assholes, then maybe we will see SOTC on GSN. Let me tell you, I am glad I got that out of my system.

  • Soprano's high, baritone's low,

    Call in to Chabad

    And pay us your dough!

  • Bryan Ferry?

  • Another outstanding performance by Jim. Jim hosted the Miss Canada Pageant for 24 years! (1967-91).Check out the videos which I recently uploaded. You find more great performances from Jim.

  • Pretty darn good ,bought as good as Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs sing ?

  • Wonder if he gargled with that green stuff before this outstanding performance. What's it called.... SCOPE!!! ;)

  • I don't know what to say. So I am just going to let the video speak for itself.

  • Wow! I didn't know Jim Perry could sing! Awesome!

  • Also, I must tell you, Jim (a good friend of mine, along with his wife June, as I email them on her blog, and she has two pottery videos. They are listed under the search Shambhala) inspired me to sing along with hosting game shows, which I do locally, but never really sung much. I must practice and try it some more.

    You rule Jim.

Thank you for the memories, because A NEW DAY HAS BEEGGGGUUUUNNNNN!!! LOL.

    Yours truly,

    Chris Kennedy

  • Really? Tell Jim for me I hope he is doing well & thank you for some of the fondest television memories I have from childhood. A child born in 1980 now considers him one of the best hosts of all time.

  • wow . . . my hero and one-time crush jim perry SINGS . . . laugh if you will but even sounds like bryan ferry in spots . . .

  • Does anyone know where can I get a clean copy of this version of the song by Harvey Cohen?

    Thanks.

  • Wow. What a voice. Talk about a King. Jim Perry is awesome.

  • "Higher or lower?" This also applies to Jim Perry's magnificent baritone vocal range! ;-)

  • I'm guessing 1985 since it's got the LMAD set from that time.

  • Also, anyone notice those set pieces from the 80s LMaD in the background?

  • Wow...is there anything Perry CAN'T do?

  • I also asked the same thing

  • I heard he was a singer, but I never truly heard him sing until now. After hearing his voice, if I were the host of that telethon, I would've wanted to say, "Well, come on! Don't just sit there, give him a standing ovation! That was wonderful!" And mean it.

  • But the fact that Jim actually told viewers it'd be better if they ignored him and just got to the phone to make a donation shows what a class act he is. :-)

  • @WhatsAYak

    True stand-up guy!

  • Few people realize that Jim Perry, by trade, IS a singer. He got involved in the game show business in Canada when he became the announcer on Definition 1973. He became the host of Definition in 1974 and thus began his career as a game show host.

  • I hear he was actually discovered singing in the catskills.

  • I've also heard that at one time he was the straight man to legendary comedian Sid Ceasar.

  • Truly awesome.

  • Robert Goulet, speaking of, sounds like game show announcer Bob Hilton in a way.

  • if you find anymore of him singing let us know

  • I'll give away a "Q".

  • incredible. This video truly fits under the "Just When You Thought You Saw It All" category. Jim Perry singing. What a wonderful rendition.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • best performance ever. well rehearsed cats and kittens!

  • how did jim perry get to the telethon?

  • I think I remember seeing Jim sing on an episode of Card sharks. However, I could be wrong, you know.

  • Sweet merciful crap! What a singer! Jim is still my favorite game show host. But I never heard him sing. What a voice!

  • Talk about lower than an Ace...

  • Jim could have been one of those crooners we often hear about

  • Did anyone notice they're on the Let's Make a Deal set from the mid-80's?

  • Makes sense since Monty Hall was a big supporter of the Chabad Telethon

  • On a recent American Idol, Andrew Lloyd Webber pointed out that no male singer has ever did this song. Looks like he's wrong!

  • *faints* - someone should direct him to this clip!! I think Jim Perry has certainly done it justice!

  • Barry Manilow had a huge hit with memory, Johnny Mathis did a rendition (on his Friend in Love album). Robert Goulet did a rendition of this on his "Would You Dance With This Man".

The renditions were awesome. and so is Jim Perry's.

  • Yeah he has this posted on his myspace page, he has a wonderful voice, and man the talent he has is beyond what i thought.

  • What's a CHABAD TELETHON?

Jim could have sang this on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show! Did Jim Perry ever record a record album of songs?

  • Jim is every bit as good a singer as he is a host.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I knew Jim Perry sang but never, ever heard him before. Im just stunned! Thank you so much for posting!!!

  • I only found out Jim Perry as a singer on the Wikipedia article. As a singer myself, I was quite surprised. "Memory" is one of my favorite songs. Very well sung Jim!
