Yalls it probably was a queen or maybe a worker looking for protein to feed the larvae back at the nest. The wing muscle of flying insects are very high in protein and are very good for the larvae.
@TheSnotrag2009 Wasps are expert predators, they keep other insect populations under control. Without them we would loose certain crops such as tobacco. All that aside they are annoying little stripey yellow bastards.
haven't you guys ever seen wasps take down a spider? Those things do not play. Twice I have actually witnessed it. Once the spider dropped down (big SOB) from a tree right in front of me. Scared the hell out of me. He hit the ground running. I soon learned why bc soon the wasp was all over him. The wasp kicked his butt and then dragged his body all the way across my yard and into the woods. I guess to his nest. Wasps do not play.

the bumble bee probably was already dead. a common wasp is too small to kill a bumble bee... maybe the hornet should, but che bumble bee's nest is too small and unatractive to hornets
D= bumblebee got owned *surprised* Im not scared of honey bees or wasp but when it comes to bumblebees, Ill be the first one running xD probably cause I had a bad exp. with them xDD
eheh, it sounded to me strange that a little wasp had killed a bee...and I was right, that is an hornet (vespa crabro maybe) with a victim xilocopa violacea
wasps can sting as much as they want like bumblebees, only an idiot knows otherwise. And its onlt female bumbles who can sting, males dont even have a stinger.
all wasps can sting as much as they like cos they are the nazi's of the insect world
@gregerdeg. so can bumblebees, its the honey bees that have barbs on their stingers not bumblebees. The wasp in this case was probably a queen just starting her nest. The wing muscles of flying insects are very high in protein and would feed her larvae well. She probably just collected that and left the rest of the bee behind and eventually probably found another sucker, lol until she has enough workers and they would then go out and do the same thing for her.
I watched a honey bee fight a wasp today on my walk home. The wasp won, then just flew away leaving the bee twitching and basically dead. Wasps are actually the most eveil fuckers ever!
Around 3 years ago, I watched a wasp fighting a honey bee, killing it in the end, and biting it's head off. Finally it flew away with the honey bee's head as a kind of trophy leaving it's body behind on the pavement! I didn't believe what I saw. Unfortunately, I only had a stills cam with me, no video shots.
@staalman Wow, I saw this exact same thing happen. The was completely dismantled the bee, leaving its wings and legs all over the place before flying away with its head, like you said, almost like a trophy
I often think these people who film wildlife must feel like stopping the carnage they have to film. especially if they have been following a family around for a while.
Best 54 seconds of my life.sad for that bee though. getting dry humped by a wasp.

Wasps often lose to the praying mantis. Unless the wasp is especially large such as the Japanese Giant Hornet where the tables are turned.

Bumblebees can sting more than once cause they only live in groups of 500 or so. Wasps can only sting once cause they live in the thousands.
