Danny Seraphine and the late John Bonham of "Led Zepplin" are/were perhaps the two greatest rock drummers of all-time. The clowns who play drums in bands today couldn't hold these two legends' drumsticks in doing the fantastic solo licks that Seraphine and Bonham often achieved during performances.
the story i read was that the band got together w/ their manager because there were complaints of Danny not practicing "his Craft" enough and not wanting to tour and rehearse w/ the band as much as the others, and that he took his family to some city while they were on tour and he wanted to go have some family time and sightsee w/ them and the band was pissed that they wanted to rehearse so they booted him, after all those yrs lps, its just plain dumb, he deserved better than that.
@KrupaDrums danny isn't with chicago anymore because for whatever reason there is a lot of friction between everyone in the band. he explains it in his book if you ever get it. he goes to do lessons like this one at sweetwater recording studio in fort wayne, indiana
@KrupaDrums That's plain ridiculous that Chicago booted Danny after all those fuckin years and great studio sessions and albums. In my opinion, Danny Seraphine "Is the man" Chicago's new drummer don't have shit on Danny.
Finally someone else who loves danny! Im a guitar player, Terry Kath is a huge influence. Danny Seraphine often gets overlooked, he has a jazz rock fusion that ive never seen in another drummer, when i hear a Chicago tune i tune in to hear the whole bands contribution. I love Seraphines playing style, i listen for it, just like Terrys guitar and vocal style style,Cetera was a great voice and a badass bassisst. All Chicago has now is the trademark horn sound.
@steelcur1 Its still a mystery to me what happened, like you said he and Terry Kath were what made Chicago special and after Terry passed away and after they kicked Danny out after 19 albums, 19 albums and so much classic drum bits you can`t count them all...I just don`t get it.

So much more creativity than Tris Imboden, a solid player but really just a time-keeper. Nice to see Danny workin' his chops...
