  • Serch is a moron.

This whole black vs white dialectic he builds up. He talks about others being ignorant, maybe his fat ass should try to be less ignorant as well.

The world's bigger than black and white, Serch. And blacks, just as much as whites, can be ruthless.

  • Someone slap Serch. Hard! "Greeks stole fron Nubian cultures." You're white. Hating white people doesn't mean you're down! When it all comes down to it, he's a phony anyway. Hosting the white rapper show, b Gas face given...asically a reverse minstrel show, the joke's on him.

  • Wow, an outrageous amount of cameos on this one!

  • serch is a herb he hated white people

  • Serch has always been a chump. Thats why he's a reality show host and the Beasties rule the world.

  • He may be a chump, but he's a well-intentioned chump with integrity and he did a lot for New York hip-hop.

  • dude is Jewish, so

  • Thank you thank you thank you for this interview! i've been on the hunt for any material Subroc was in, and this just fattened my archive...Thank you Lorna!!

  • Niice Vid :) Vintage Bruh'

  • yeah....doom is the one at 6:15.......back then his name was zev love......

  • yeah i think you're right the guy with big glasses is doom you can tell by the voice.....sounds like the great dume

  • Remember that this was shot in 1989 and there was a lot of tension about authentic vs commercial Hip Hop. Search was speaking within the context of the time, and I understand that he and the Beastie Boys are currently cool with each other.

  • I like this interview, and I remember performing at Lorna's corner myself with my crew, LOL

  • That's awesome that the equipment picked up that radio station's frequency.

  • seeing mf doom here kind of ruins the whole act of the super villain

  • how did beastie boys disrespect the rap community? im not trying to start shit i just want to know how he thought this

  • serch got moves man ha haa

  • search owes his hi top fade to black folk....good one...but sub rock wuz a legend with thos clippers..R.I.P

  • 2.43 That's Young MF DOOM!!

  • No thats his brother Subroc who died in a car accident, Mf doom was known as Zev Love X

  • 4.16 is a young MF DOOM.

  • I love the radio reception!!! LOL wonderful video, incredibly precious.

  • wow this is some rich Hip Hop history here, thank you.

  • imma have to get the back of my head like thay

  • the last guy is DOOM

  • love 3b. my favs in rap....rakim, big daddy kane, 3rd bass, really love old school

  • nice haircut dipshit

  • rest in peace d.j.

    subroc!

  • I respect search but But I disagree with what he said about beasties. To quote chuck-d"The beasties werent trying to be black thy were just rapping about white boy s-..."

  • He was just pissed that the Beastie's didn't want him in their group.

  • MC Serch sounds like a very smart person and he is an awesome rapper. he's better than anyone from beastie boys, so he has the right to say whatever he wants. 3rd bass for life!

  • "on Broadwaaaaay"...

  • wish i can find barber like that

  • just go to any hood in america

  • R.I.P DJ Subroc!!!!

  • Nice seeing some cool 3rd Base. 3rd Base AND the Beastie Boys are great because they rap from their heart. That's who they are. That's what rap is. Both are true to themselves and the music comes out great.

  • DOOM killed this song.

  • Subroc was that dude. I loved KMD

  • hell yeah !peachfuzz is my shit

  • Nice post. Enjoyed the interview plus the vid.

  • oh yea, and I Think when the Sinister Prime Minister Pete Nice told hammer to shut up that's the most emotion I've ever seen out of him. Ha Ha. Third bass was super def though

  • I Call Out The Serch. Serch's rhymes are dope and 3rd bass music is high quality hip hop, but HOW DID THE BEASTIE BOYS DISRESPECT THE BLACK COMMUNITY?

  • o they did, very much. lol. almost as bad as eminem does and vanilla ice did

  • Mc Serch is very knowledgable! p.s he helped nas with his career! so big up Mc serch!

  • I'm glad that you have acknowledged that homeboy!

  • A lot of Serch haters on here. Sad, really sad.

  • M.C SEARCH

  • DOOM was a funny looking kid!

  • MC Search is a joke..Now thats a confused individual right there..

  • check out the fade.......lol

     dope!!!

  • Search grew up around Redfern Projects in Far Rockaway Queens, NY dudes know what it is out there, to be a white boy growing up around there your gonna adapt to whats around you. I don't think he was "trying" to act like he was black

  • beastie boys were a hell of a lot better than 3rd bass

  • talking crap about beastie boys. He asked them if he could be in the group but he couldn't...guess why he talks shit about beastie boys? I mean...MC Serch is great, but he is a real wigger.

  • Great point. If Serch REALLY felt that way, he wouldn't have tried joining them. Mike D clowned his dumbass... and he was sore over it.

  • The 90's was weird dude.

  • zev-luv-x=MFDoom -lorna u did ur thing

  • Thanks alot for this

  • I feel kind of sad for Serch, he always made me feel like i was listening to a white guy who really wanted to be black. I never had the same feeling when i listened to pete nice he seemed more comfortable with his own identity. Serch used to go on about the evils of the white man like he was the only guy in rap saying it but at the time you could reference countless crews with a similar outlook, the only difference was that there were all black.

  • Today Serch has a belly and has little and some gray hair. He is still cool and was a good rapper.

  • this is great, where's part 2?!

  • He said that The Beastie Boys were perpetraters. I would've really liked him to expand...

Thank you so much for posting this.

  • All non-profane comments are welcome

  • This was one of my first artist interviews on Lorna's Corner. Be sure to remember this conversation was set in the context of the culture and music in the late 80's early 90's. The equipment wasn't the best but we bought it ourselves and it did the job. The craziest thing happened with the microphones during first part of the interview;it picked up a radio station frequency and that is why you hear Broadway in the background of the interview.
