The flyover shots are not Dallas, they are of Kansas CIty. You can see the MKC airport in the background. ttugarygregory was correct that the ground shots were on the ramp at Braniffs' Dallas Love Field Maintenance and Operations center looking west toward the Braniff "Terminal of the Future" (no longer there).
Braniff, Inc (AKA Braniff II) started flying March 1, 1984 with 30 727-200's serving 18 (later 20) cities and was the largest one-day startup on any airline. In November the route system was trimmed, planes grounded and they went to a low-fare model. BN(2) had modest profitability and was purchased in 1988 by an investor group and the HDQ was moved to FLL. On Sept 28, 1989 Braniff, Inc shutdown and filed bankruptcy.
This plane ( I think N501BN ) was the first to be repainted in January 1984. The fly over shots were over downtown Dallas (notice the difference from today) and the ramp/runway shots were by the maintenance base at DAL.
I have the original poster of the first 727 repainted at Love Field (one in this commercial) with the 20 city route-map and the tag line "We're Building The New Braniff Around You".
Sadly, there will never be another Braniff or any other airline of that old class/charm.
@zetina2010 Very doubtful - the days of post-deregulation and the successful startup of any airline is in doubt especially with this economy. One good thing, that trademarks, logos, and the infamous 800-BRANIFF are held by a trust so maybe it will be bought and used, again.

Anyone know a Susan Jaeger that used to work for BN at 7701 Lemmon Ave. in DFW and then in MCO? She lived on Shady Ln in the MCO area... or a Jennifer Hardesty that worked for BN in MCI... been lookin to track down Susan for a while, THANKS.

I thought this commercial was lost forever! The commercial aired right before our March 1, 1984 restart.
Being a member of Braniff II this holds a lot of special meaning for me.
Thanks for posting!
