i will admit i had a hopeful amount of optimism for the IRL and the '96 500. they at least let them use the CART rigs one last time. then those grumbling nascars without fenders came around in '97. That was a big no no. Yes, that's when i permanently (until Long Beach 2008) switched my attention to CART. from 1980 to 2001 it was the heart of american open wheel racing. then in 2001, they tried Texas Motor Speedway.... then San Jose.....
@DoverBroadcasting They offer soy milk to lactose intolerant drivers, although Emerson Fittipaldi drank orange juice in 1993 to promote his orange farms that he owns in Brazil
Say what you want about the lack of quality in this field, it was one of the most exciting on track 500s ever. Lazier, Zampedri, Jones and Guererro battling it out for the win. Also in my opinion the 95 Reynard is the most beautiful winged formula car ever built, hopefully the 2012 car can look half as good.
even though I love IRL and I think TG was partially right in creating the series, I can't help but laugh when Paul Page say "Buzz Calkins". Quality driver lol.

I wonder if any of the winners were lactose intolerant...

@DoverBroadcasting I believe Emerson is. His first win, he took a little sip of milk and then got Orange Juice in a different jug.

It just rings hollow somehow.... I think I understand now why Paul Page wanted to stop doing these intros.

I believe they should do the Delta Force theme on every race at the Brickyard, whether the Indy 500, or the Brickyard 400.
