??? That was not in the ghetto, it was a good speech. Overdone, yes, but pretty good. Othello is frustrated with Iago, not furious at him. Watch Oliver Parker's Othello. Laurence Fishburne does it best.
@kod1ak3 Oh, hell yes. I just saw that again recently and I think Fishburne was tremendous. At the moment when Iago starts to poison his mind, Fishburne's momentary transition from mighty general to suspicious, self conscious, broken hearted lover is awesome. It's so subtle, it's actually overwhelming. Branagh also plays Iago so well. Branagh knows that his character is also an actor and pulls it off brilliantly.
*Coming from another lit major* I very much agree. People seem to look at the acting itself without looking at the context in which it is said. Read Othello, and THEN see if you it changes your opinion.
This performance feels more genuine though as compared to the other Othello performance. I feel you have a better grasp on the context in this one and was convinced by the scene that you were Othello
I love what you're doing with all these monologues, but the intro bugs me. Sorry to be anal, but Othello is not the Playwright. Shakespeare is the playwright, Othello is the play.
would you be getting the attention if you were doing some afrikan literature? stop looking to europe to find what's great. Greatness is closer to you than you think.

How does this get anything above one star? It's some guy overacting and it's not intended to be funny...
What a waste of bandwidth.

Many people can do Shakespeare, but not everyone can make the audience FEEL Shakespeare. Well done, very well done. Fantastic.

This is a good performance - but a question? Could you do a dramatic reading of sayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... Paradise Lost? now that would be TOUGH.

PL isn't a play, and I think Shakespeare might possibly be tough enough. He's rather famous, don't you know.
Anyway, this is a great performance. You really capture how manic Othello is becoming. And I dunno, your voice is just really cool, too.

why in the ghetto cos he's a black dude, sorry man, your stereotyping, it's just Shakespeare and he's done a very good job.
