Good point. I have lived in the USA (NY) and travelled extensively. I know most Americans are fine people, like any other people (albeit insular and naive).
The sheer greed, selfishness and stupidity of these people made me angry, I wanted to shame them
I think you should research the subject matter further before commenting. There is no such think as a 'pet' monkey in NZ or Australia (has never been legal) and the practice is practically unheard of in Europe.
The overwhelming majority of primate 'owners' are American.
I will admit that the use of offensive stereotyping eg " typical Americans *is* lazy , unfortunately the image Americans portray to the world quite often isn't a good one:(
@ESCDownUnder (The overwhelming majority of primate 'owners' are American). I also have traveled extensively, and I have yet to see a road side monkey show on several street corners in any major city of the USA. Most of the "owners" I have seen is in Indonesia, India, etc. Not trying to argue, but the “owners” in the USA pay around $5500.00 for the animal. I’ll be the first to say monkeys are terrible pets, but the majority of captive “pet” monkeys are not in the USA.
OMG YALL NEED THAT BABY TAKEN AWAY....I JUST GOT ONE AND I WOULD NEVER LET ANYONE TREAT HER LIKE THAT I WOULD KILL EM. IM GLAD THAT MY FAMILY IS IN THE LAW CUZ I WILL BE FORWARDING THIS VIDEO TO THEM SO THEY CAN TRACK WHO U ARE....THEY WILL LOVE THE POT LEAF IN THE BACK ON THE BOARD AS WELL U FUCKING STUPID ASS CRACK HEADS. U MUST SOLD ALOT OF DRUGS TO GET HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THAT GIRL IN THE BACK GROUND SOUNDS LIKE A IDIOT. I WISH I COULD LOCK YALL IN CAGES AND TORTUR
This is great! Around the time he's saying "Oh, that tickles so bad," you can see that she is trying her hardest to get over to that bear so she can hug it and be comforted. She's not "playing" at all--she's grabbing onto you because rolling and bouncing her like that is frightening and she wants to cling to you for security. But mostly she wants the bear. That whole time she's straining just to see the bear, and you'll notice that when she squirms, she's focused on the bear. Oh I love this
Oh my god I love this. You guys do know why she loves that bear so much, right? Look up Harry Harlow. That monkey is fulfilling its need to cling constantly to something soft and warm--usually, its mother. You guys think she's just being feisty, but she's really diving for that bear when she's especially afraid. But I'm not criticizing--I really like seeing them miserable, and you guys couldn't treat her worse if you tried.
It is unbelievably cruel that you are laughing at it's undeveloped nervous system....it should be with it's *mother* at 5 weeks...not entertaining you idiots.
You're probably telling yourselves that it was born in captivity and you're really caring people so she has the best life possible but if you *really* cared for this macaque you would give it to a sanctuary so that it can live in a social structure ....you won't...it suits you to have a pet monkey typical americans
@ESCDownUnder OK, I was with you until you said "typical [A]mericans". There are more than 300 million Americans, including nut-job PETA members who would burn down people's homes over this sort of animal treatment, so clearly we run the gamut. The "typical" American is just one that happens to embody whatever you're upset about at the moment. Typical foreigners--bitter, petty, and intellectually lazy.
@ESCDownUnder I most certainly will not admit that--not because I'm especially defensive, but because it's a completely unverifiable assertion, and doubtlessly untrue. I have seen videos of people speaking every language and variety of English out there (including both Aussie AND Kiwi) playing with their personal monkeys and gibbering inanities into the camera about "their" monkey. ...And--*sigh*--by generalizing. That's the quintessential, poster-child act of intellectual laziness.
@AnimalAbuseIsUgly Apologies and point taken. It is/was racist of me to stereotype an entire people.
You must, however admit that Americans are the ONLY people in the developed world that think primate 'ownership' is an individual right (see current debates).
How is it that we " bitter, intellectually lazy" foreigners percieve Americans to be naive, uneducated, greedy and selfish?? Unfortunately that IS the image that many Americans portray in videos like this:(
It's the image any people in such videos project. What do you expect? That our best and brightest are also sitting on the floor, playing with monkeys and giggling like halfwits?
You also 'brag' that this macaque doesn't carry Herpes B? You got ripped of.....a macaques immune system is not fully developed until about 3 years old furthermore, an animal may not have a detectable viral load but still carry a transmissable quantity of the virus...so either the vet or you are lying
You brag that you got this macaque from a 'USDA approved' breeder? That means less than nothing...the USA is notoriously cruel and backwards re animal welfare.
The USA is the ONLY developed country that allows invasive research on non human primates and almost all people from modern countries (other than the USA) find the thought of a 'pet' monkey just sick
how much for one such fucking animal? monkey are very dirty thing...anyway the zap glue should be a great innovative toy for those motherfucker baby monkeys........
If you want some fun, give them an open tube of crazy glue. One glued his hand to his dick and pulled off all the skin on it. One glued his mouth and nose together. Then he panicked when he couldn't breathe and popped one of his eyes out. Another monkey came running over and ate it.
@Halocuber its hepititis, not herpes, that would be messed up,lol, but no monkeys need to pass a exam for them to be allowed, this test the cleanest human can not pass, so they are fine
