  • yo ouughtta slow down cowboy.

  • What , specifically, should we have gleened from that sad demo?

  • jazzy country! nice!

  • Immer wieder eine Freude Dich beim spielen zu sehen und dann noch deeeen Sound !

  • @esqueselawyer

SSLVO = Signature Series Light Vintage Orange.

zellerauer1 is right is it the nitro lacquer finish. The SSU (Signature Series Urethane) version of this guitar has the less desireable urethane finish and correspondingly costs a few hundred less.

  • @hooptyndablowfish - CORRECTION!

SSLVO = Signature Series LAQUER Vintage Orange. I'm not sure where that "light" came from...

  • hahahaha - nice

  • Cool stuff. Nothing else sounds like a Gretsch 6120 played right.

  • GOOD SHOW!

  • i love rockabilly guitar so much fun

  • i love yer melody man :D

@ crazinessgoon yah your right super cool !

  • Nice one.

  • Is the fender blues deluxe a good rockabilly amp?

  • i heard you will need a license to play a gretsch guitar in future.oh yeah and you will have to be over 50, true!!!!.

  • Hi man-super gespielt -habe jetzt auch so eine Gretsch schon eine klasse Gitarre -gruß winni

  • Sounds really sweet. I'm saving for a SSU. Hope it sounds as good. Nice licks by the way, sound slike you were jumping between different songs and stuff you knew while still keeping your rhythm solid. Cool.

  • i just got my SSU and it's brilliant. you'll love it. it has a slightly brighter tone than the SSLVO but apart from that it's pretty much the same.

  • I'm 16 and thinking of taking up guitar. Am I too old to be starting? Has anyone got any tips for a beginner?

    Thanks :)

  • hi!

you are not too old. i startd at the age of 15...

  • Thanks to everyone that replied to my comment. I now have an accoustic guitar and its going pretty well.

Thanks again, you were all a big help!

  • I started at 32! Best way to start is by learning all your basic chords, how to tune your guitar to pitch, and practice, practice, practice.

  • Spend as much as you can possibly affordon your first guitar, because a cheap guitar - one which sounds poor and frequently goes out of tune, will only make you put down the guitar.

Also remember the first few months are the hardest, once you get over the first incline it's nothing but a free roll :)

It's something you will never regret.

    Good luck, brother.

  • No you're not to old! I started when I was 14 and that was 1971. I'm still practicing in my 50's. Grab a guitar & get started.

  • your never too old to take up the guitar. and if rockabilly on a Gretsch is your inspiration then GO for it........ you'll have to save your $ to get a guitar like this but then there's your goal !!!

    good luck

  • right!

  • u're not too old: but start right away!

and ALWAYS practise with a metronome

& listen 2 the good stuff: Beatles, Hendrix, Supertramp, Classical music...

  • I started at age 12

  • What do you mean with being to old? You think when you're 16 you're no more able to learn guitar? o.O

You can start learning guitar even when you're 60... If you mean that you have tos tart at that age to become a pro then 16 is a very good age, but it's not really the age that matters, it's about motivation and time.

  • @jameggbread you can start at any age

  • @jameggbread You'll get really fustrated tho, because rockbailly is - arguabley - one of the hardest genres to play, i started when i was 12-13 and i'm 17 now and can only just play stuff like mystery train, etc. So if you do start bare with it.

  • @jameggbread No you are not. I played for 15 years and made more progress in two years than in the last 15 combined. Just listen to a lot of music, be disciplined, and don't be afraid to play w/ people who are better and ask questions. Play that thang, hoss!

  • just wow.

there's just no comparison to gretsch guitars.

If there were guitar shows like car shows where they "show and sine" gretsch would really win.

but honestly that was great rockabilly solo.

When i'm an adult I'll buy a gretsch deffinately.

Well, better work hard at school first to get a good job so i can afford the luxuries of life I dream of :)

  • Very cool man! Sweet Gretsch , they Rock! Rock on!!

  • man that was sweet. I know that's in the key of A but after your D9 chord what are those two quick chords following it. 5 stars from me.....

  • nice playing man.

Pitty these guitars on my country is almost the price of a car.

  • what is your country?

  • Are Gretsch guitars any good for like Frank Zappa style guitar soloing?

  • i think, yes

  • Sweet I'll probably get one then if they have a decent enough tone, they look awesome.

  • great playing and a great guitar

    greatings

  • That's a nice guitar, especially for its price..! Tried a 6120 the other day: nicely built, good feel, neck was just thick enough, not too bulky, not too thin, a bit like acoustic... And the sound =) If I ever decide to start playing rockabilly the 6120 will definitely be my choice ;)

  • Hey there. From a long-time Gretsch owner, I can tell you they're not just for rockabilly these days. (Although that's where they shine above the rest).

Lots of members of the GDP group are actually playing punk, psychobilly, and just about any other genre on their Gretsches. Though for me, I use mine for everything from rockabilly to slide, to fingerpicking, to simple rhythm.

they're more than just a 1 trick pony. Try one out, and put it through paces. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

  • yes, that's true!

  • pretty fast fingers!

  • Just... WOW!

  • i want to play like that damn

  • You can "feel" this! You are just so good!

  • OK, all I can say is Dayuuum!!!!! Really Great! :)

  • Dam wonderful sound , can i steal your guitar please :P

  • That was WILD!!! Just laid down cash for my 6120, hope to get er soon!!

  • I NOW have a Gretsch.... Oh what a great day

  • HEY ! HOSSA !

  • Theres the 5120 for $600. Dont let the price fool you its really good and with tv jones pick ups its totally worth it.

  • Yeah! I just picked up my SSLVO for less than half the price listed. Cant pick like that though.

  • howd uget it for half the listed price? i really want one bad thy r sooo awsome gretsch rock no doubt bout it.plz tell me where u got it frm

  • where u frm then?

  • on the subject on which is most expensive i think it may be the gretsch one is £17,000

  • An average gibson Les paul Is not 2500 Quid There about 800 - 1500

  • Bugger me. Nice pickin' there man.

  • very cool.

  • no one really rocks thoes anymore, but to me they are like cars, old school is better than new school plus you can always add new stuff to old school stuff

  • no one rocks them cause they cant afford them and have to play shitty gibsons

  • LOL

    u must of misspoke...

for one gretsch is owned by fender which sells cheaper guitars than gibson

u must of ment to say epiphone

gibsons are around the same price as gretschs......

  • uh no they arnt actually, the most expensive Gibbys are custom shop ones, this guitar SSLVO is about 3k the price of a Gibby Custom moron

  • besides Gibson quality these days is absolute garbage

  • lol the most expensive gibson (not signed)

is 5000 dollars about the same as the best gretsch

les paul gibson standard is around 2500

around the same as the tennessee rose

    just different style man

    gibson is solid-guitar

    and gretsch is hollow...

  • youre stupid you know nothing about guitars.

  • perhaps u should check what they are made out of...... ud see its the same stuff

the gretsch guitars in the 2k 3k price zone are made out of mahogany (top is made out of maple) and the same for the gibson... idk how u can dis a company when it uses the same material as gretsch....

and how would u no if i can afford a gibson and a gretsch....

the gibson custom shop guitars go up all the way to 7k

  • i know what a Gretsch is made of you moron i have a SSLVO, Hot Rod, Country Club and Power Jet

  • so whats ur arguement?

  • so whats ur arguement?

  • nothing you moronic 14 year old

  • again you cant afford either so why do you care...and i aint talking about a stupid tennessee rose i know what the difference is between hollow bodies and solid i own 12 guitars.

  • lol the most expensive gibson (not signed)

is 5000 dollars about the same as the best gretsch

les paul gibson standard is around 2500

around the same as the tennessee rose

    just different style man

    gibson is solid-guitar

    and gretsch is hollow...

  • you couldnt afford either

  • Ich interessiere mich nicht, was diese Clowne denken, daß... Sie

    Talent... mach weiter so haben!

  • Pretty good. If you cleaned up the slop, you may not become a god but you'd be excellent ;)

  • damn that is a hot lick. Love the fingerpickin then flat note change ups. very good.

  • thanks!

  • are you god?

  • he is the son of god

  • Not bad brother, not bad at all.

  • gibson and fender are best.

  • correction gibson and dean are the best

  • correction gretsch and gibson are best.

  • Your playing is awesome but at some points it sounds like you're speeding through the song man...(btw, i DO realize it's a fast song, but sometimes it's like he skips a beat)

    AWESOME playing though!!

  • nothing beats a gretsch.

  • Gibson is way better!

  • its not

  • ya right

  • No It Isnt,

Gibson Are Wheeeeey Overpriced For What They Are, You Get What You Pay For With Gretsch

  • I reckon they are a bit overpriced. but so are gretches. what can i do? im a gibson fan... lool

  • Fair Play,

Although You Can Get A Decent Gretsch For Like 400 Pounds Now,

But Then Again You Can Get An Sg For About 600 So The Gap Isn't That Huge, Still A Fair Difference Though..

  • lol yes get a gretsch

  • you can't compare gibson and gretsch their not the same guitar

  • well yeah but can he play "Smoke on the Water"?

Obviously I'm kidding - great chops, great tone and seriously nice guitar. You rat!! HA
