The Lithuanians of Wilno/Vilnius were not killed. Their descendants live today in both Lithuania and Poland, and consider themselves to be Poles. And that's why it's actually the land of our ancestors (well, ancestors of some of us), not the land of your ancestors.
Vilnius yra Lietuvos sostinė nuo senų senovės, ir tegul tie lenkai net nepuosėja jokių vilčių :) Geriau kitais dalykais rūpintųsi užuot švaistę laiką absurdo teorijoms ir istorijos iškraipymams (greičiau didžiosios dalies istorijos ignoravimui).
Vilnius was created by Gedimas in early XIV century. We fighted and were owned by russian even sweden people, but looking at all period it is 100% lithuanian city :P
In 1936, Lithuanians were less than 3% of population of Wilno, which was the city's name back then, not the "Vilnius" which the Lithuanian immigrants call it.
The city's population were Poles (50% or a bit above), and Jews (about 40%). Later the Jews got murdered by Germans and Lithuanians. And Poles were forcibly resettled by Soviets.
In their place, came the Lithuanian immigrants, who now discriminate the remnant of the original Polish population.
@Mik80PL poles occupied Vilnius killed lithuanians and keeped it for 20years but for 700years this city is Lithuanias capital it was builded by LITHUANIANS hands it was fond by LITHUANIANS and it is now cleaned from polish occupants and its LITHUANIAN city for ever and ever and keep your shit away from us we dont want poaland even close to OUR city so keep your unfriendly occupant criminal hands away from it !!
@Mik80PL you are wrong. you ignore whole history ofc poland polonized lithuanians and ofc they did evrything in 1919-1939 to change history that its polish city . The fact that city is fond and builded by lithuanians for 700 years. ANd there was no real poles there it was Lithiuanians jews and belarusians who used polish language. Its not even logical to say that vilnius is polish city since poland was about400km+ away from it and it was always center of GDL u talk crap no logic only propoganda
1. Poland did't have to change anything during 1919-1939, because the city had 50.2% Poles and 2.6% Lithuanians in 1916, before Polish rule.
2. The Wilno/Vilnius is NOT the land of your ancestors. It was founded by Lithuanians, that is true, but these Lithuanians got polonised and their modern descendants are Polish. You modern Lithuanians are mostly descendants of Lithuanians from the Aukstatija and Zemaitija, not from the Wilno/Vilnius region.
@Mik80PL they did lithuanians was killed all schools was closed, all books band, people was forced out of that land, even in churches people was beated who were using lithuaian language and Aukstaityje is LITHUANIAN. Poland has no rights in Vilnius all u got is belarusians and lithuanians who was polonized in fact they cant even comunicate with polish people in poland since they speak half russ half lithuanian and half polish, its just poland propoganda for poles.Vilnius LTU 4ever was and will be
1) "All we've got" are people whose ancestors actually lived in Wilno/Vilnius for centuries. You have people whose ancestors lived in Aukstatija and Zemaitija, not in Wilno/Villnius region. Basically, Lithuanians there are IMMIGRANTS, who came there after WWII and after the removal of the previous inhabitants.
2) In case you did't get it the first time - there were 50.2% Poles and 2.6% Lithuanians - that was few years BEFORE Zeligowski took the city.
@Mik80PL How can lithuanians be imigrants in Vilnius? There was no polish people migration to Vilnius. That % is bullshit too go study how it was counted here is no space to write u whole history. Vilnius is Lithuanias capital for 700years. By ur logic if black people would start using polish gramma they are from poland too. Thats jsut bullshit you have no logic thinking if it was polish city it would be in poland for 1000years but its not.Wikipedia Vilnius read history stop ignoring main part
1. How can Lithuanians be immigrants in Wilno/Vilnius? Very simple - they came there after WWII, it's NOT the land of their ancestors, they are not locals.
2. As for "bullshit %" - the census was actually conducted by the German Empire, not Poles. And the only reason for which Lithuanians reject it's results, is that the results show what kind of crazy chauvinists Lithuanians are and how crazy their demands in 1920.
As for the shameless lies and propaganda done by Lithuanians, try "1939: The Year that Changed Everything in Lithuania’s History " by Sarunas Liekis - there's a mention of the frustration of brainwashed Lithuanian soldiers who invades Wilno/Vilnius area in 1939. The soldiers were told lies that they are liberating Lithuanians from Polish opression, but they had trouble founding a single Lithuanian village. Funny thing is, the same propagande still operates in modern Lithuania.
@Mik80PL ffs go watch video in youtube 1939 Vilnius its about how lithuania took it back and its english documentry made in 1939 look at people they fucking giving flowers taking off hats for respect and hapynes praying evry1 is happy that u fucking occupants are gone and Lithuania is free again.Wtf u talking or maby u r just trolling whole europe making fun out of poland propoganda brain wahsing and history changing.Whole world knows that Vilnisu is Lithuanias capital for700y.Only u talk shit
What you are saying is simply silly. The percentage of Lithuanians in Wilno/Vilnius was very small, it was 2.6% before Polish rule, and was even smaller in 1939, BUT it was still a few thousands of people, quite enough for showing "enthusiastic crowd".
Really, go read the book "1939(...)" by Sarunas Liekis, who is actually Lithuanian. Go read and learn how Lithuanian propaganda lied to it's own people, and how the people of Wilno/Vilnius treated Lithuanians as foreign invaders.
@Mik80PL how about u stop reading shit and read real facts. IN LITHUANIA WAS NO REAL POLES it was lithuanains and belarusians and jews speaking in polihs lithuanian russian languages. DO u understand with that?Do u even understand how the counting was done? IT was done not by there passport documents it was counted by whant language they speak. They were all lithuanians in documents.Multinational city its jewel of lithuanias history center of GDl capital of Lithuania.Thats why this city in LTU
1) Which Poles are "real" and which are not? Were Pilsudski or Zeligowski real Poles? They were both born in old GDL territory, not the old Kingdom of Poland territory. In reality, the majority of GDL's nobility and many of the peasants became Poles, not only in language, but also in self-determination and culture.
2) "Thats why this city in LTU" - WRONG. The city is in LT, because Stalin gave it to you. The original citizens were resettled (Polish) or murdered (Jewish).
@Mik80PL No1 became poles they always sayd they are lithuanians, using language doesnt transform u.They were marked as poles cus they used lang, and stil lthat language was half russian half polish.City is 700years capital of lithuania.Stalin gave it back to Lithuania cus it was simple logic that this city and its history and people belongs to Lithuania cus it was multinational.Poland has no rights in this city thats why its marked as occupation.
It was not only about language, these people considered Lithuania to be a part, a province of Poland. Good example was Mickiewicz, whose name Lithuanians liars deform as "Mickievicius" or something - he wrote "Lithuania my homeland", but he wrote that in Polish AND he was organizing a Polish army in Italy and wrote a political work "A collection of principles or a Political symbol of Poland".
And as for Stalin - he hated Poles and hated Poland, because he was a army commander in the 1920 war, in which Poland defeated the soviets. On the other hand, Lithuanians were the little soviet collaborators, who cooperated with the soviets on many occasions. And that's why Stalin gave you the city.
@Mik80PL WHAHAHAHA iam done talking with you. You have no logic thinking if u think that staling could just give lands go to war kill any1 he wants. System works not that way. how old are you? 16? anyways think what u want i wont reply to u any more cus u dont understand what you talking about and stalin gave lands back to lithuania cus it belonged to us.
In case you did't knew, Stalin was a bloody tyrant who COULD do anything he want - including starving millions of Ukrainians to death (Great Famine in the 30's) or taking Konigsberg (today: Kaliningrad) for Russia, though the city had absolutely nothing to do Russia.
Overall, you are Lithuanian, so your culture and way of "thinking" is based on myth and lies. Lithuanian nobility got polonised, those who stayed Lithuanians were dumb peasants - and this fact has it's consequences.

A Wilnie, ignorancie, byli najpierw przodkowie dzisiejszych Litwinów i ludność będąca protoplastami dzisiejszych Białorusinów.
A ja wolę ziemie odzyskane niż poleskie błota, Podole, nadniemeńskie puszcze itp. I kropka.
Lepiej zajrzyj do podręczników historii zamiast ferować naginane teorie.
Poland lost Wilno. Time to get over it - both Lithuanians and Polish. We are in the EU, everyone can live anywhere, and speak any language they want. Polish can return to Wilno any time they want.
If only for the sake of building new Lithuanian national identity Lithuanian government didn't discriminate against the Polish. Poland and Lithuania are like Wales and England. Polish will never understand what is the problem of those Lithuanians against the Polish.
I w dodatku naród twardy.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I cant reply in Polish soo i will say in English. IF YOU DIDINT KNOW GEDIMINAS DREAMED A IRON WOLF ON A HILL AND THERE HE BUILDED CITY CALLED VILNIUS (WILNO), BUT BECOUSE UR POLISH OCCUPATION WE LOST VILNIUS..... GOT THAT ?!
Slavs builded the whole East Germany city's?Jah they builded only ugly commie-blocks.The whole beautiful architecture is only come from west. culture and slavs can build only crap. And by the way I don't understand why polish are so adhere to Lithuania?.Polish put to their minds that Lithuania is like second Poland wake up allready u r dreaming again. Did you forget that Germans build allmost all Poland. And Vilnius architecture is not polish style. Leave Lithuania alone!
We woke up... and saw discriminating huge poish minorty and falsificating history by Lithuanains. Poland build by Germany? Buhahaha! Germans only destroyed our country... even Russkies (tsarist) build more and destroyed less than Germans in Poland.
Tad prasom mielas lenke neskleisti melo :)

A Wilnie, ignorancie, byli najpierw przodkowie dzisiejszych Litwinów i ludność będąca protoplastami dzisiejszych Białorusinów.
WAMAS151 2 years ago
pkrajes93 2 years ago
A ja wolę ziemie odzyskane niż poleskie błota, Podole, nadniemeńskie puszcze itp. I kropka.
WAMAS151 2 years ago
RastafariGirl 2 years ago
Lepiej zajrzyj do podręczników historii zamiast ferować naginane teorie.

Poland lost Wilno. Time to get over it - both Lithuanians and Polish. We are in the EU, everyone can live anywhere, and speak any language they want. Polish can return to Wilno any time they want.
If only for the sake of building new Lithuanian national identity Lithuanian government didn't discriminate against the Polish. Poland and Lithuania are like Wales and England. Polish will never understand what is the problem of those Lithuanians against the Polish.

srebrnyAg 2 years ago 7
brankosmuc 2 years ago
panslavic 2 years ago
I w dodatku naród twardy.

The occupation of Vilnus was a horrible mistake by us, but c'mon people, for so many centuries we were one great state...

Minofin 3 years ago

Minofin 2 years ago
Hah! Who cares who was building cities? Slavs built most of todays East German cities and that means that they have to give them back to us?
srebrnyAg 2 years ago
