  • ever realized this notion in real life. the world appears so different on a profound stage of humanity w/out perspective.

  • between the synth(guitar?) and the guitar amp buzzing it sounds like alien communication to me. Thats what I imagined last night listening to embryonic.

  • This song is all kinds of heavy.

  • 2 people got their ears cut off by evil robots.

  • This song just bleeds Syd Barrett.

  • this band OWNS the time it....existed in?....NAY! the time it MOULDED as ITS OWN. this band......dare i say its more that that......probably gave your mom the idea 2 have your stinkin diaper shittin green jelly pukin whiney ass......btw thanx 4 that too. oh and 1 more thing...jenny lost her virginity 2 this song ;D

  • @maulyyy Who's Jenny?

  • I could write this shit. This is so unoriginal compared to their earlier works. All it sounds like is some untalented people playing on untuned, whiny guitars and adding in some muddy synthesizer bullshit. Wayne Coyne sounds like he's piss drunk and they recorded his distant echo inside a cave. This is simply a shitty album. This is coming from someone who really liked their other stuff like Yoshimi, War With the Mystics, and the Soft Bulletin.

  • honey, youre just paranoid...lol...theres no Doors rip off here. this IS a powerful piece and def one of my favorites on this album (which is genius) and btw....thats Wayne on this excellent solo. Its not excellent in the way of skill but rather exicution. its perfect for this song. This is one of the most inovative bands on the planet and deserve all the credit they get. making music for the future

  • Who would dislike this video? My oh my, there are some perfidious people out there. Thanks for uploading; albeit I must say, I miss the lavish orchestrations of "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" and "The Soft Bulletin." Drozd was really composing some good material in those days. Nevertheless, it is always pleasant to listen to some FLIPS.

  • After listening to all of the tracks for the first time, I think that this one is my favorite of them all (at least, so far).

    This album is brilliant, indeed!

  • This is the only track that I've listened to twice, thus far, while going through all of the tracks here. In fact, this is my first time listening to this album and I am absolutely blown away by how great it is. I thought, "Where've I been?!" I never imagined this album to be as dreamy, psychedelic and Krautrock-ish as it is, but oh how I was surprised in the best way possible.

While going through the tracks, I realize that this is only #9, too, which means (hooray!) 9 more to go!

  • What is the album cover supposed to represent?

  • @faeriesfoe Psychedelia.

  • @FaithIsAnnoyed They did apparently rip "Flight Test" off Cat Stevens' "Father and Son," so maybe some people expect more of the same behavior. That said, I don't hear any of The Doors in this track, and I actually like "Flight Test" better than "Father and Son" anyway. If an artist "borrows" a tune from another artist, adds to it, and actually makes it better then it's ok with me.

  • Personally, this to me sounds like it has no connection to any other song I've heard of. It doesn't sound anything like Riders On The Storm to me. Love this song from when I first heard it .... which was earlier today XD

  • Epic, epic, epic!!! I can not give this enough thumbs up!

  • saw them live a while ago and they played this

  • This band is really great. The more you listen, the better it gets.

In the late eighties i had the luck to listen to Can in a revival concert in a liittle club in hamburg, the "Logo" .

For me the Lips are the only band that compares with them.

  • Great. For those that can't get this then you should listen to Pop. This is not you radio band. This is music the way it was meant to be played. Always evolving and always changing. No two albums are alike with this band. After 25 years they still change and grow and this may just be their best album yet.

  • i don't get what they were trying to do with the guitar solo in this one

  • @Jazzertron888 It's psychedelic. One isn't supposed to "get" anything. It's like how some people always say, "I don't 'get' poetry." Well, poetry isn't supposed to be assessed, it's supposed to be lived in. I think that the same can be said for music, as well, especially of this sort.

  • This is badass, I envision like a lone person wandering through a post apocalyptic wasteland or something when I hear this, great song!

  • Im so addicted to this band!!

  • Embryonic is blowing me away. At first listen, I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed. The more I listen, the more hauntingly psychedelic the album becomes. Personally, I think this is another milestone in the band's career. On a side note, I recently received my "no one is ever really powerless" Flaming Lips t-shirt. I've been rocking it all across town. What a great song and band to support. Man, I love these guys!

  • gahhh i fucking love this band, so much

  • I like this song but that weird psych noise that jumps is annoying!

  • Riders on the Storm? It kind of reminds me of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" too.

  • good call!

  • @SkinnySacc

Hmm not sure about Riders on the Storm connection...

  • damn, flaming lips harnessing the outta control, ballin

  • decent

  • sounds nothing like riders on the storm... maybe the pianos in background? i don't know. i did notice the guitar solos sound a lot like the ones off of the velvet underground and nico. eorupean son, run run run. it's even more disturbing to me in this song though.

  • Doesn't sound at all like riders on the storm to me. Maybe just cuz it creeps so hard? Anyway this is a great song, the guitar solo sounds like its frying your brains

  • Steal from The Doors, riders on the storm.. Lips fan, but not convinced after listening to 9 songs. Maube this is the type of music you have to listen to for a long time, to learn to appreciate.

  • john archer here from Saracee

we do some work every now and then for the lips

    love this album

    good stuff

    good stuff

this song by the way kicks ass

    love ya
