I came to this video on acident and just watched half of it... Why did you made the that halo reflection so complicated?? I would just make a gradient that goes from whit to white, and only change the Opacity of each point of the gradient individually, from fully opaque to fully transparent. Is that a illustrator thing or is it just you that likes to over complicate?

with the glossy effect on the smiley, why not make the bottom colour of the gradient white, and turn it to 0% opacity, it works better imo...
