  • @Wind360fail360

    which ones???

  • @snotbog1 the silver dollars

  • @Wind360fail360

there's a few different kind in my tank. Generally, common ones grow to about 5-6 inches. The myleus species can reach 8-9 and some like the striped ones can reach 14 inches in the wild but probably not more than 10 inches in an aquarium.

  • I'am back for another look, such beauties!!

  • 3 years

  • very nice.. how old are they?

  • Superb dilver dollars, even if you are being a little immodest lol!!

I do not consider it boring at all as it is such a magnificent display.

To balance, I must make a negative comment in case your big head explodes (!).

I just thought that the lovely angels and other fish looked out of place and pushed to the back - but that's all I can fire at ya buddy! (Lame, eh! - well done!).

  • @SuperRedshark1

    immodesty aside, thank you

  • looks a litle small of a tank, no? dont they eat all those plants down to the roots?

  • I agree with your title of the video. this is the most beautiful school of silver dollars I have ever seen, i have only 2 and they're not even close to this size yet.. im jealous! lol :]

  • i have a 46 gallon bowfront tank that i have had for about 10 months my fish include 3 3spot gouramis. 5 angels, 4 black skirt tetras.. 1 silver dollar, 4 cory cats and a bushy nosed pleco.. i had purchased 4 solver dollars smaller than dime sized shorlty after i cycled my tank and 3 starved themself to death this one seems content to school with the blackskirts he was dimes sized when i got him but is pushin 4.5 inches now...should i get him "friends" would this over crown my tank

  • I hope my silver dollars grow to be as big and beautiful as yours. They are gorgeous!

  • @CrazyArowanaKeeper

Hey, now that would be cool!!!! Send them to me!!!

  • @lovehatefu

  • @snotbog1 awesome and cool silver dollars

  • @lovehatefu

    thanks!!

  • @lovehatefu and a gold veil lol :)

  • What are the ones the dark line on the side. Really good looking

  • black bar myleus

  • how long it take those silver doller to grow to that size?

  • about a year

  • nice silver doller..i just got my too..same as ur..i got 9 of them for $1 each..at petsmart for the 6.99 one..i be loading my soon..

  • Now I'm not very familiar with silver dollars or any charcin for that matter , but don't the red patches on the fins mean that their ready to breed ?

  • I'm not sure. Mine do show mating behavior and the colors didn't show up on their fins until they were over a year old.

  • @snotbog1 the red color on their anal fin means its a male

  • Do they not nip each other's fins? Mine tear each other's fins to shreds. I have five in a 55 gal.

  • a bigger tank helps

these guys all grew up together

  • maybe u don't feed then well or full..when they are hurgy..they may pick on ur plant or other fish...i got my from the pet store that are kinda shreded fins and one is kinda shreded bad on it tail...but hope it grow...

  • Nice fish!

  • how big is this tank?what are you feeding your silver dollar?thanks

  • @jangoironic

    85 gallon

They get a large variety of flakes pellets and freeze dried along with algae wafers.

  • thanks!!!

  • Why are they just huddled like that?

  • @ollieflp

They're fixin' to start a game of fishball.

    They win every time.

Actaully, they tend to do that in the mornings.

  • In the morning i got you makes sence

  • what species of SDs are your favorite

  • probably the mola (one with orange dot)

  • Are they OK with just one by himself? Great tank BTW.

  • they tend to get nervous. Better in groups of 4. More is even better if you have the room.

  • thier not ok if it by it self..it ok to be with 6 or more...

  • they look like pirahna s are they vicious

  • not really, semi-aggressive

  • they are part of the pirahna family whatscrakn, but they arnt meat eaters they are vegetarians ! there lovly fish ! i luv them

  • can 3 live in a 2 foot 20 gallon tank

  • yes but they might be jittery in a small tank. You might want to upgrade later.

  • im getting 3 small silver dollars in a 29 gallon tank and im getting 10 little neon fish too

  • really pretty!

  • thanks

  • Hi, lovely Silver Dollars! what size is your tank? will they outgrow it soon? I see you have several species of SDs and they school together. I got a Red Hook (M. Rubripinnis) as a gift from a friend, he´s around 5". Couldn´t find other red hooks to keep him company so I got 4 regular (i think argenteus) around 1". The red hook doesn´t school with them, you think he will when they grow up? My setup is a 60 gal tank with the SDs and a group of 14 red eye tetras

  • Thanks

    Mine's 85 gallons.

RH may or my not school with your others.

  • SHINEY!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love your SD's ! i just got 6 of em in my 75 gallon. they are all between 1-2 inches right now. how long does it take for them to get 5-6 inches? if you have a minute check out my most recent vid and tell me what you think

  • see below

  • I have 5 silver dollars and they are all 4-6 inches

  • @hotchicky8

    cool,any vids?

  • No... But I will be putting videos of my aquariums up soon tho. Once I get my camera back.

  • Please. I have had my silver dollar for 1 month and 13 days (with a freash water small almost nude color angel fish and a green glo fish*it looks yellow*) How long does it take for a silver dollar to grow big? Mine is like 1 in.

  • @Simpsonsims16

    About 6 months

  • thanks. Did you know 50% of silver dollars are mistaken. They are aCTUALL A VERY SIMILAR BREED. The Shreitmuller's Mytennis. Mine is. Well its like the same as silver dollar... andy way mine is now almost 2 months and its 2 in by 2 in and I got it at 1 by 1

  • how long did it take for the silver dollar to become large

  • @baseballman1321

    About 6 months

  • OMG! That bleeding heart SD is amazing looking. Im jelous of it.

Could you maybe check out my fish on my channel? Not trying to be a troll or anything..I just dont get much views :(

  • absolutely I will

  • Thanks :)

  • They are so pleasant to look at. How big were thay when you first got them?

  • less than 2 in

  • are they carnivores,omnivore,or hervivores?

  • omnivore

  • will they murder a gold fish if their pack was big enough (this is something i might not try)

  • My goldfish ultimately had to be transported into another tank. Goldfish can work in a tropical tank under specific circumstnaces, but it is not something that I would recommend.

  • great thanks can they be kept with cichlids with out my cichlids (7" and 8") killing them, and just in case my cichlids do try to mess with them will they fight back?

  • They can be kept with large cichlids provided your tank is spacious enough for them to swim away. Silvers typically will not fight back. It is not unheard of however. Their teeth are larger than a cichlid's. My eartheater likes to chase my silvers. One time one of my largest black-bars got tired of being chased and literally backed my eartheater up 6 inches until he was in the corner of the tank. You should have seen my eartheater pout after that! PRICELESS!!!

  • lol,i have never seen a silver dollars teeth, but im convinced.just to let you know my cichlids have BIG teeth, even for cichlids.i just want more fish in my aquarium because when i first got my red devils (4") they cleaned up a tank full of buttikoferis under a week and i want more fish because i only have 2.i also have a 2.5'' one thats a wild caught who will even try to attack me

  • If you have established adult Red Devils in an aquarium, they might just try to kill any new fish you try adding, that is, unless it's a very large aquarium (100 gallon or more)

  • Great fish and tank! Makes me want

  • thank you

  • NIce community, It looks very peaceful. How much gallons?

  • Thanks, 85

  • love the Koi Angels, can't find them too often here in Canada

  • thanks

  • Those are some nice Silver Dollars, dude.

What do you feed them ? And how much does 1 cost ?

It's quite expensive here in Malaysia.

How big will it grow ?

I know , i know can google it , but hey, best answers are from the owners themselves.

    :D

  • I feed them a large variety of flakes, pellets and freeze dried foods. Make sure you have enough veggy matter in their diet. They typycally grow to around 6 inches although the black stripe variety can potentially double that. They are pretty cheap here when purchased small 2-3 dollars (the striped ones are more:20)

  • I used to have 4 Silver dollars but unfortanetly they all died (icluding %75 Of other fish) from an unnoticable disease

  • My fishes look now just like the first from the left. These with the black stripes are Myleus (Prosomyleus) schomburgkii.

  • Yes those ones with stripes are the Schomburkii. The ones on the left are common silvers, either hypsauchen or argenteus. I honestly don't know which they are because so many websites have conflicting photo identification.

  • I am absolutely floored by the amount of hostility this video has produced. You'd think I'd posted some child abuse clip.

It's one hell of a scary world we live in.

  • And it continues. See the more recent death threat I received from p0rt0b0y. Absolutely amazing!!!!

  • Mate, it was not meant for you. It was aimed at subversion90 who was being a rude prick. Just got the username's mixed up. My bad.

  • O.K., I get it. Youtube puts new comments right at the top without the original context (so annoying). I can see how things got turned around. Thanks for clearing that up. I take back all the nasty things I thought about you. (LOL)

  • any room for water....lol

  • 85 gallon,

    there's room

  • Bullet-proof? Keep going the way you are and that might just get tested out...........

  • What exactly is your problem? Are you now giving me death threats? What is exactly that I have done to piss you off? You leave a unprovoked rude and disgusting comment on my blog, calling me a "rude fuck" and so on. Would care to explain yourself? Why are you attacking me?

  • so pOrtObOy, why are you being such an arogant dick to this guy?

  • My comments were meant for subversion90 not you snotbog1. Sorry for the misunderstanding. As usual the reply feature didn't work as it should. Love the tank by the way!

  • O my god you to, my replies do the same thing. it is really anoying.

  • how about you stop having such a shitty overcrowded tank

  • You're my 2000th viewer. Congratulations. Have a nice day.

  • "how about you having to stay in school so you can learn how to construct sentences properly"

  • if you think the number of viewers matters when you openly whore your shitty tank on every fish forum there is, then you're an idiot.

If you think the number of viewers matters when people can't know how bad your tank is without first watching a video, then you're an idiot.

You couldn't even get your petty "sentence structure" rebuttal right. Dumbfuck.

  • Couldn't get my sentence structure rebuttal right? Ughh, I was mimicking your poor sentence structure. (compare them) LOL

I guess it would take maybe a half a brain to figure that out now, wouldn't it!?.

FYI: I never posted a single video on a fish forum before about a month ago, so your point's a mute one. In fact, my most viewed video has never been linked anywhere else by me.

I find you to be a foul and crude person so I'll leave your comments up for a while and then remove them.

  • Oh, by the way, nice Pokeman vids. How old are you??? You should have stayed in school......REALLY!

  • How about u stop being such a rude fuck? I hate all these internet heros. I bet your a 50 kg pimply teenager in real life. Grow some balls you freak!

  • Internet hero, huh. Wow, that's pretty cool. Never thought of myself as a hero before, but gee, thanks man. Did I tell you I was bullet-proof?

  • Yer i saw that but i think they gt lucky because they wont naturally live that long.

  • If you take good care of them, they should about 10+ years.

  • I have 2 silver dollars and they are 5 years old but no one told me how long they live can you help ?

  • Yes, I can help you. Do a youtube search for these words:

Bob my 25 year old fish

  • Nice but bit boring just sitting there really.

  • They become more active at different parts of the day. Check out my "bet youv'e never...." or "hungry fish..."

  • They're beautiful! I had a couple Silver Dollars back when we had a fish tank. I've always liked them.

  • thankyou

  • beautiful fish tank

  • thanks

  • Very cool =D

  • thanks

  • nice tank.......

  • Thanks. Care to rate it??
