well i don't know the series but it seems to be very different from the book...because angle sucks and his name doesn't really fits him. he just loves the ideal image of her, not the real tess and in the end he's not crying at all -.-

@GabriellesHope No, he does love her, but after he finds out about Alec he lets his love be suppressed by the ideals he didn't even realized he had. I really like him as a character, because he tries to be good. Even though I'd like to punch him sometimes ;).

i loved Tess of the D'Urbervilles..so sad..

its about a girl who gets raped by her cousin who she trusted. she has his child but it dies soon after coz it fell ill. she then marries this other guy who she loves but her cousin returns and causes trouble.

Lol, good old Jane, 'let other pens dwell on misery' and all that, (yes, I'm a classics geek XD). And I can't say I've read any books by Elizabeth Gaskell apart from her gothic tales, which don't end happily. But I have seen North and South by the BBC, which does. :)
