It's really difficult NOT to have facial ticks (especially mouth grimaces) when you're playing classical guitar (or any guitar for that matter)! The music part of your brain must also send electrical signals to your mouth at the same time.
@pspcrazed I think he means how it's pointed downwards instead of slightly up and the headstock being so low. Usually, the headstock's about eye level. His position is quite...unique.
The double refers to the fact that in the suite the same musical style is repeated. So if there is first a bourre than the double is just another bourre in the suit. Typically in a suite there is a prelude, bourre, allemande, courante, gigue...
The Double is a written out "improvisation" on the chord progression of the piece that precedes it. In other words, you can play the Double and the Bouree together and they will fit together. Try this with the Sarabande and Double from the B Minor Violin Sonata. I'm sure you already know this point.
a comment to other comments: As long as the sound is good and pleasing to the ear, who cares the way it is made. Allot of the best artists and scholars where non conformists, they had there own way of doing things. After all a painting is still a painting regardless of how it is painted.
The video transfer may not ve really good quality; the guitar is great - it is a Neil Hebert hand-made classical guitar specially made for and tailored to Mr. Laucke's specifications. It was played in 200 concerts a year from the White House, to Carnegie Hall, to the Great Wall of China. It is insured for $60,000...
can someone plz tab this im dying to no, me and my guitar teacher have been searching for this tab for the longest time and still havent seen it, so plz
What this piece succeeds in is to make the fantasy work. What makes this piece great is that it involves you with its developement and leaves you with a very catchy melody. I came into this work with extremely high expectations and I was pleased to see such a marvelous piece.

The Double is not recorded in this track. I play this Bourre and the accompnying Double also.
The performance is fine, although a little more music making coukld be expected.

This is a classical position and it is used by Pepe Romero. The position is such that the 2 guitar bout will rest on the 2 thighs.
Check out Pepe' video.
senunkan 3 years ago
I see no problem with the position. The title has no claims that he is playing in the classical style. just that he is playing on a classical guitar.

its a true classical stnace to sit like that with thumb on the back of hedstock

Great playing, but why is he holding the guitar like that?

guitarfella581 4 years ago
All of bach's music has sheet music out. Learn to read sheet music and play it that way.
Just take it apart bit by bit and find out what chords are being played, find the fingering for them, and you got it.
Of course, it's going to take you a long time to get this done, and be able to play it on guitar....

learn to read sheet music, dude. You will never find it on tabs, simply because people who can play it learned ir from sheet music
