@Sk8erbakerskater Obviously you have not seen my other videos - I play cheap AND expensive guitars. I own 20 guitars, some are "cheap crap" as the uninformed sheep like to call them, others are high end models, and some I even built myself. Most of the time, the problem is not the guitar, it's the player, or the technician who worked on it.

Most cheap guitars have some of the most ridiculously simple issues that can take 5 minutes or less to fix in the hands of a skilled tech these days.

Sounds like one of those VW Edition First Acts that was a part of a promotion involving Slash (from GnR) a few years ago for the VW Rabbit. They were giving those away with the cars and touting how one could plug the guitar into the dashboard and rock out through the stereo system.

I would not know, as I have no experience with the MG-412. I'm not even sure which one that is.

Kind of amazing how far First Act as come though, I remember about 6 years ago when they first started to appear, they had these chintzy looking Les Paul and Strat copies at first, then came this oddball Tele/Mustang hybrid thing, then they started coming up with stuff like they have now. It took em' awhile to find their niche apparently.

It does'nt matter. All solidbody electrics that I have known (which are pretty much any guitar made between 1951 and present) use the same 1/4" Mono input jack used with the same 1/4" mono plug. Might be your friend's guitar cable has a disconnected wire somewhere.

Very cool!! Excellent playing. Someday folks are going to realize that a guitar is just wood and, wires n electronics. There isn't that much magic in them. Some are made better than others for sure but I've played guitars from $100 to $2000 and I've found great cheapies and lousy pricey ones as well as the other way around. Play what you like. Just play.

Umm, while were here' bragging up more expensive guitars, I'll have you know I own a Fender Jaguar, a Fender Jag-Stang, a VINTAGE 1960's Fender Mustang, a Kramer, and a bunch of home-brews made out of cheap stuff, so it's not like I only play First Acts, actually, that's far from the truth. Well, just about any guitar sounds good regardless of who makes it, it's just a matter of who's playing it and how they know how to mold and shape their tone around the instrument. The First Acts are excellent for the money though, $99 used to just get you a 3/4" thick plywood Harmony boat paddle guitar, now you get a solid hardwood guitar for that same price that actually plays in tune and quite well at that. So I am impressed.

I dunno, I have 2 Arbor Explorer bodies in my closet, and I also my black on black Strat has Arbor electronics in it. So far Arbor seems pretty good, but they do need to learn how to build better necks, my Strat was misaligned, and the Explorer neck was pretty bad in general.
