Best thing about him was ,,,He always asked us about our result off the park.. A hooligan at heart . R.I.P Friend... C-S-S for life (80's casual Home n Away)
actually looking at the old posts of the stadium with terracing it looks terrible, prefer the stadium now, although the atmosphere has definitely sufferred
legend,i dont know how anybody can say that he was average.....dont care anyway,he was a one club man nothing wrong with that, not enough of these guys about anymore, cheap digs from latapy 81 how sad,i bet you cant wait to show your friends thats if you have any friends, you have probably never been to a game in your life, this time next year we will be back in the premier you guys will be back where you belong!!!!bottom of the first
yes your right, massive pars man,i dony know why these falkirk fans are leaving these stupid messages, come on to fuck man!!!!!!! latapy 81 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
yeah gary riddle, he collapsed and died outside my street, i was a young pars fan then, i knew norrie and john watson were running and was eager to see them. tragic really. i will always remember that day.
i was an apprentice at the pars season 95/96,very shy and young at the time, had the pleasure of meeting honk, absolute gentleman.....i also met stuart adamson(skids, big country)really cool guys, sad loss...love x w
There was another young Dunfermline player who died tragically around 1988/89 I think. I think he was participating in a charity run and collapsed. Does anyone remember this lad's name?
I'm sorry you are 100 percent right Norrie was one of the last of a dying breed. We had Crunchie who albeit far more talented was cut from the same cloth. From a Falkirk fan RIP Norrie you played for your club like every fan imagines they would. For what it's worth I hope you lot come straight back up because EEP away was my favourite game of the season, one of those rare times in the self preservation league when there was any atmosphere that wasn't spoiled by bigoted filth.
Thanks for your generous response mate. I have read so much foul messages from Falkirk and Airdrie "fans" that it sickens me that ordinary footie fans lower themselves to a level even below that of the old firm.I know that most Falkirk fans are decent like yourself but the few give the club such a bad image sadly.
Also Norrie Mccathie while undoubdtedly a good servant was just an average player. Very little skill just an old fashioned Scottish defender, fair enough he died young which is tragic but all this maudlin tribute bullshit is unnecessary if he was half decent he wouldn't have been at Dunfermline all his days. Prince Ivo was far superior.
Nobody claims Norrie was a gifted footballer but he was a rare breed of player who played through all the divisions and remained loyal to his club unlike Prince Ivo who didn't hang around too long with any club, although I admit to liking him at East End.
Norrie would have been a legend regardless if he had not died, he wasn't just a loyal servant but an easily approachable man who didn't mind having banter with the average fan.
You are right what I said was probably unneccessary I respect one club men like Norrie who the fans could relate to. the way our so-callled support and Airdrie fans reacted to his demise sickened me even as a 16 year old. Guys like
It is good to see that Leish got an MBE. He deserves one for helping to relegate the scum, services to football indeed. So do Falkirk get to keep Dunfermline after last season? GIRUY Freddy Boswell, Bert Paton, John fecking Watson, Istvan Kozma, Ian Pishwater,Your men took one hell of a beating.
norrie what a fuckin legend ... RIP bud... a cant realli remeber much about it ... but my brother was devistated .. i still remebr watchin the champions video....does any1 have that still...i want a dvd copy ... give me a shout if you do ... pars_1991-at-hotmail'co'uk cheers lads...
Being a young one, I never got to see the man play, my dad and brother always went to the games, but the first ever pars match I went to was the last game of the 95/96 season when we beat united. I was lifted onto the pitch to give sammy the tammy a kiss! Just a magic day, so proud we won that league for Norrie!
