Actually, they kept Sally alive off-screen. She's jet setting between the south of France and Acapulco, enjoying her cabana boys. That's such a Sally thing :) Personally, I thought that was a nice way to write her off instead of killing her...

She was a rare breed of soap character. Not many soap characters can act so dramatic and funny as she did. She was always the life of the party and she knew how to have a good time. She was so special. The only other soap character that comes close to her standards is Henry Coleman from ATWT and he only comes maybe halfway at most.
