There are many improvements that needs to be implemented in the new iLife 09' suite. Those that you mention are valid. My complaint is the inability to import old sites from 2.0 to 3.0 of iweb. Couldn't they just put in there? For example, import project rather than import site. I mean, seriously, you already have a save feature. Still, I like Apple too.
The iTunes was the only thing I was happy about. All the other stuff was not that big to me. Don't know why they didn't come out with that 17" same time as the 13". When you compare MW09 to CES09, MW09 was nothing. However I most likely will use iTunes now that they are DRM free. That was most of the reason why I didn't use iTunes before.
I liked MW09 as well, they introduced a lot of great software. I suspect many love the gadgets of Apple, for me software is the name of the game. The better the software the more are going to use OSX. DRM-Free FINALLY!!! I asked all the time why Amazon and others could go DRM-Free but now finally with Itunes! The battery is also a great technology, but I will wait and see how well the intelligence works on keeping the life at 8hrs for the life of the MBP
It's like having private lessons. I fear music teachers might be going out of business soon. Alternatively, this might be a good opportunity for the enterprising ones to sell 'lessons' via iTunes...
GarageBand Artist Lessons was fantastic. A big money-spinner if they can get the best musicians on board giving lessons. There's a vast untapped market of amateur musicians out there, not committed enough to plow through sheet music but curious enough to learn via demonstration. Five bucks to have a classical pianist teach you how to play say, Brahms or Satie on your Mac is well worth it.
DRM free, lol, Amazon has had DRM free songs for months. The only reason I still use iTunes is because I have some many damn songs from it. I'm done with buying songs from iTunes.
You know, last week i would have agreed with you. Now however with iTunes offering 8 million DRM Free Songs instantly & there entire catalog fully free by April, i can't anymore. While Amazon is nice, they don't have near the library iTunes does. With this announcement, Apple has basically destroyed Amazon's MP3 store.
But I wanted Apple to announce exclusive content to warrant the premium pricing. iTunes is a universal platform, and to announce DRM free music, they also helped out the PC user.
What about exclusive content for new and current users?
lol, "Amazon has had DRM free songs for months. The only reason I still use iTunes is because I have some many damn songs from it. I'm done with buying songs from iTunes."

I really don't enjoy using iTunes, that's my main beef with it. I'm forced to used it though because I have all these iTunes songs that no other player can play. What's it going to cost me to upgrade all those songs to DRM free?
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB [+ £839.99]. Thats ridiculous. Thats more than buying a new Macbook! 320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm [+ £34.99] Why bother with a 5400. 320Gb Hard drive is a bit mean too for this money. Fully specced this laptop is £3629.00. At least give me a 500Gb drive!! 20p to convert an existing track to DRM Free having already payed for it??? How does that work, this would cost me about £200. A bit dissapointed really.
You will NEVER REALISTICALLY get 8 WHOLE HOURS out of the battery in the 17inch MacBook Pro. iLife was the ONLY really good thing that they did. Everything else was just meh.
I kind of agree with this statement. I've been using iWork '09 today, and I can't find any substantial difference. There are still a few deal breakers in it for me (like screwed up formating when you export from Pages to Word) so unfortunately I'm still stuck with MS Office :(
Hey man, as usual your comments are spot on. iLife '09 looks fantastic, I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I think alot of the news like DRM free music is great for Apple as a company, but some people were dissapointed on a personal level because they've been hanging for new hardware. Myself I can't wait to buy an iMac, and a close friend of mine is excited about switching when the new iMac comes out. Hopefully Apple will run their own event to release these products soon!
Bit of advice for the next years Macworld or future upgrades for the Macbook Pro, try getting in a Quadcore at least, a 1tb and 500gb rpm, add a Blue-Ray player along with trying to get the laptop gamers preferred graphics card if they wanna bring in more gamers. I suggest either the The Quadro® FX 3700M or the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3800. If they put just one of these puppies in there along with the bigger hardrive I'd definitely buy a Macbook Pro!
That's wayy too much performance. You must want to pay $3000+
I configured a full spec 17" laptop w/o memory upgrade. $3149! Apple care is an additional $349! $3500 total, not including the software and third party mem upgrade. Close to $4000 to to have an experience. Laughable. I think we're seeing the end of Apple desktops, and they have turned into a tree hugging company. Performance is clearly not on their radar. Apple is fully concentrated on making computer life easier, not more hardcore.
your a fucking FOOL. the regular 17" is 2700. And if you maxed it for 4 grand lets talk about what you get. 2 GOU, 8gb RAM, Matte Finish, 256gb SSD!! All teh I/O you need. Lightest 17 in the world at 6.6lbs and the thinest 17" at less than an inch. ITs a PROFESSIONAL MACHINE FOR PROFESSIONALS, Someone liek you dont need it. A laptop with 8gb of ram and a 2.93cpu? Thats a desktop dumbass
The Core i7 X5500 Mac Pros' will be less than $4000
Get real, there's no value in the 15' & 17" laptop for hardcore design, gaming and video editors. They still have a Mac Pro as their main workstation. If they have one, it's only because they want to take their work with them. But I can get a $1299 Refurb Macbook to do that!
Like Starbucks, Apple is selling image. That doesn't work in a bad economy. lol
Some people really do need the power of the macbook pro on the go. You might not be a Pro Photo or Video editor but there are people who are. You might not need all that power but they do. They are willing to pay 2800 bucks for a Macbook Pro because they know it will pay off in there job.
Performance is not on there radar? What do you thing OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is all about? Snow leopard is all about Performance, Stability, and Reliability. They are optimizing the crap out of OS X with Snow leopard.
Yes and this is the kind of stuff apple needs to stop doing and it's holding them back from being taken seriously. The OS is a nice start with creating something that could be used by the average user without much trouble from what I hear; but they need to start emphasizing more detail to hardware specs.
The Nvidia GTX 295 was released today, can I get it for my Mac Pro? Nope, I would have to get a 8800GT, that's laughable. PC already has the hardware, and lots of people have been saying that Vista was a beta test. That's why I never got it. Windows 7 is the real OS and getting rave reviews. Apple needs to watch out later this year.
Well in the review the Nvidia Geforce 280 GTX has more overclocking, core clocking, along with 3D sharpness then the 295. The thing it does more is just give a bit of a better performance is all it does. So if you have the 280 then that would be better choice.
In the reality I payed for exactly what I needed. I take 3D engineering classes, along with video game designing and 3D art. They told me for my 3D engineer I should go with either OpenGL or DirectX as they both fit the purposes as well as my video game designing classes. 3D art told me OpenGL and told me the one I should get which was either a max spec'd Alienware or an XPS. Went with the Alienware myself.
I want a X5500(Core i7)MP so bad I can taste it. But...not when the starting price is above 3K, since the MBP 17" is at $2,800. You needed a PC for your 3D work. I went to "Ai" for VFX & Motion, so an Apple will work. They cleary don't want any part of the "3D" market, games and 3D animation included. Everything is Adobe, movies, and photo management. They need to boost up the specs and stop adding profit margins on their upgrades!!!
Just took a look at their Macbook Pro and I'd have to say the only thing that would hold me back from buying a Macbook Pro is the lack of hardrive space, and the fact that I could get a shit load of stuff from Alienware from their M17 notebook, more powerful graphics cards, bigger hardrive space, i could have the choice of a 1tb 7.2k rpm hardrive or a 500gb 7.2k rpm hardrive, not to mention a lot of other stuff to for just $400 more, but I am impressed with the Ram upgrade and the graphics too
I disagree when you said "totally re-did Imovie08". It is still Imovie08 with a few new features that are cool factor! I'm not rippin' because I love Imovie08 and Imovie09 will make it all the much sweeter.
Everything your naming Emeek is features that your casual user can do without. It's has nothing to do with the actual hardware of the computer. We don't need facial recon to organize photos, and GPS is laughable. They made casual upgrades, and iTunes can run on PC, then asks the consumer to pay premium for a laptop with last gen components is also laughable. I need a Core i7 Mac Pro asap for design, but now Apple makes $2800 laptops. $3000+ Mac Pros will be overrated. Mac fans wanted hardware!
I would agree with you on that. But then again i7 intell cores are mainly for gamers, so i suppose the Macbook Pro could have those features and I would probably buy it for gaming, they would just have to re-size the hardrive to 500gb to 1tb and have a 7.2k rpm for the 500gb hardrive and a 5.2k rpm for the 1tb hardrive. I would definitely buy a Macbook pro with those specs even if I had to buy Vista Ultimate and boot it through bootcamp. I do want my first laptop to be a gaming one
That's too much performance for an Apple laptop, especially out of the box. You will have to upgrade out the ass and then lose on the advertised 8hr. battery life. Gaming on a full spec Apple laptop with decrease it from 8hrs. to under 5hrs.
WRONG stop speaking ut you rass like you know that. They said in teh Keynote if you use BOTH Gpu's meaning teh 9400 AND teh 9600 you get it reduced from 8 to 7. Not nowhere was 5 hours mentioned LIAR. sounds like your so jealous that youll say whatever lie you can to downplay the product.
Testing conducted by Apple in December 2008 using preproduction 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo-based MacBook Pro 17-inch units with a Better Battery Life setting. Battery life depends on configuration and use. The wireless productivity test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing various websites and editing text in a word processing document with display brightness set to 50%.
So a full spec 17" laptop that's used for design or gaming will get around 5hrs
Of course they would also have to add an incredible graphics card, then maybe more user's might go towards the Macbook Pro than to Alienware, and a couple of other extreme gaming vendors to give it a try. Right now it's just a gaming laptop that's more towards the casual gamer, not the extreme kind like me :(
DRM = Digital Rights Management it basclly makes you not own your music Vista is notoriuos for DRM problems and DRM is what stops some music from playing on my psp good job apple
thats not exactly what DRM does but because youve used it in Vista now it has DRM on it which means you no longer "own" it, Remember Google is your freind
Lol, well if that's the case a friend of mine has shown me ways around that, so I could call him and ask him if their is a trick around the new DRM. He's a hacker and he's been trying to get me into but as far as I'm concerned I'm not into hacking as much as he is; but some of the thing's he's shown me is very beneficial.
I'm not going to argue with you. You like everything Apple makes, I can tell. When I go on vacation, I use my digital camera, not a low quality phone. My camera was only a hundred bucks but it has 8.1MP, my IPhone is only 2MP. Guess we'll have to wait for new cameras.
I can't believe some of you thought you couldn't put pirated music on an IPODs. LOL You can use this software called ITunes to transfer the MP3's to the device.
You serious? You liked it? What's the matter with you? It was all software, and the Macbook Pro, 8 hours pretty good, but not able to replace it, not worth it.
Apple is just giving us better ways to manage photos, music, and movies. But there's no bang for the buck. People can do without most of those features, and do without a $2800 laptop that should have came out a year ago. 2.66ghz duo processors at that price point is insane. Bang for the buck means hardware, the way you want to use software it is optional. It's easy to use software to sell products, but when it comes down to power vs dollar, I wasn't impressed.
That new battery comes with a price. You cannot replace it. And also iTunes going DRM free in great and all but it should not have happened and they have the right to tell you to pay to get rid of DRM. Also the Garageband thing with the music instructors you have to pay for.
u get like 9 lessons included for free for each instrument. I have taken lessons and they are much more expensive than 5 bux for an hour. I guess we'll see how the lessons are but it looks like a great deal to me.
Emeek77, i only agree partly. Yes, the things they introduced are indeed GREAT. And now comes the but. They didn't update quiet a lot of their products. Think about it. The iMac, the Mac Pro, the Mac Mini, their ACD's. Some of them haven't been updated for more than a year. However, i still expect expect some kind of "silent" (to be seen on the website) update like they did last year.
The new iLife looks absolutely great. I shit myself when they announced that smooth cam feature, and all the new effects and themes and maps, omg the maps thing. This is pro features people, and I get it for $79 or for free when I buy a new Mac.
8 hours battery life, awesome. And the anti glare matte screen that everyone has been dying for. And 8gb RAM as well.
Apple didn't realise there would be such an outcry for a matte screen I don't think. Wait for the next rev of the 15" and I'm sure you will see the matte option appear there as well.
the new 15 inch macbook pro have antireflective coatngs which is anti glare,,matte it totally different. only the macbooks have glossy with no coatings. even the macbook air has antireflective coatings and they are awsome. you have to see one of these LED to truly understand.
DRM-free. Makes quite a statement, doesn't it? Because of this move, Apple will absolutely DOMINATE the portable music player market, period. Brilliant. Another nail in the coffin for the Zoonie, the world most expensive paperweight/chewtoy.
dude im so confused . . doesn't this mean that everyone will put pirated music on ipods? I thoguht that was the point of Itunes? why woudl they do this?
because they have to to stay competitive. Mac users wont steal. Bet on it. Some may but not most. it pc guys you have to worry about. Now anyone anywhere can buy and use an ipod and itunes. Even people without ipods can use itunes now cause its not protected music. it can play on anything. it will increase piracy but not enough to not make it a good idea
You have always been able to put pirated music on iPods. Music downloaded from iTunes had DRM on it. Jobs has always said that DRM is a pile of cunt, which it is, but the music industries wouldn't listen until now.
Macworld was garbage. The MBP was nothing new really except for the battery. iLife and iWork is nothing amazing either. Last 2 Macworlds have been poor.
you have no fucking clue man. This was a huge deal. Your a pc fanfuck so you dont get it. Ilife o9 was completely redone, iphot has FACE RECOGNITION NOW!! Garage band has a LESSON STORE. I can learn from the fucking masters. Iwork is going online so anyone can share documents 8 hour battery IS HUGE and so is DRM FREE itunes. You just down play everything cause your jealous.
dude im so confused . . doesn't this mean that everyone will put pirated music on ipods? I thoguht that was the point of Itunes? why woudl they do this?
Just because you write "LESSON STORE", "FACE RECOGNITION", or "DRM FREE" in all caps doesn't make it any more exciting. Macworld was a dud this year. Scream, rant and rave all you want...you know it too.
Facial recognition software is HUGE. your just reading what other pc fanboys are saying and following the band wagon. This was quit an achievement. they even released a new laptop. The 17". It was late due to design and battery. Thats a huge announcement. new laptop, new software, no DRM. GET A CLUE
a few high end DSLR's come with Geo-tagging capabilities now.... and you don't need to organize things by places if you don't want to. but for many its very handy because lets say oh you are in australia for 2 weeks. well iPhoto would make an event for every day's worth of photos, but that would be a crap load of events. iPhoto 09 takes care of that and now you can turn those 2 weeks into one big album.
Mike, you have hardware on the brain. What is good hardware when you have shit software, ie. Windows.
I understand why people like hardware, its like loving your car, but I'm a software man, Snow Leopard, iLife, etc. is far more important to me than some product refresh.

WHY NOT SIMPLY ALLOW US THE ABILITY TO INSERT KEY FRAMES ON AN INDEPENDENT AUDIO TRACK AND CONTROL OUR VOLUME????

Now if they could be bothered to change about 2 lines of code to get it working with XP x64 edition, I'd consider using it.

You will NEVER REALISTICALLY get 8 WHOLE HOURS out of the battery in the 17inch MacBook Pro. iLife was the ONLY really good thing that they did. Everything else was just meh.
ShockaSlim 3 years ago
I kind of agree with this statement. I've been using iWork '09 today, and I can't find any substantial difference. There are still a few deal breakers in it for me (like screwed up formating when you export from Pages to Word) so unfortunately I'm still stuck with MS Office :(
cendrillon1978 3 years ago
Hey man, as usual your comments are spot on. iLife '09 looks fantastic, I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I think alot of the news like DRM free music is great for Apple as a company, but some people were dissapointed on a personal level because they've been hanging for new hardware. Myself I can't wait to buy an iMac, and a close friend of mine is excited about switching when the new iMac comes out. Hopefully Apple will run their own event to release these products soon!
cendrillon1978 3 years ago
Bit of advice for the next years Macworld or future upgrades for the Macbook Pro, try getting in a Quadcore at least, a 1tb and 500gb rpm, add a Blue-Ray player along with trying to get the laptop gamers preferred graphics card if they wanna bring in more gamers. I suggest either the The Quadro® FX 3700M or the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3800. If they put just one of these puppies in there along with the bigger hardrive I'd definitely buy a Macbook Pro!
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
That's wayy too much performance. You must want to pay $3000+
I configured a full spec 17" laptop w/o memory upgrade. $3149! Apple care is an additional $349! $3500 total, not including the software and third party mem upgrade. Close to $4000 to to have an experience. Laughable. I think we're seeing the end of Apple desktops, and they have turned into a tree hugging company. Performance is clearly not on their radar. Apple is fully concentrated on making computer life easier, not more hardcore.
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
your a fucking FOOL. the regular 17" is 2700.
AppleSoldier 3 years ago
Hey Apple Stepchild,
I can buy an Octo Mac Pro for the same price!!!
That doesn't work in a bad economy. lol
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
Some people really do need the power of the macbook pro on the go. You might not be a Pro Photo or Video editor but there are people who are. You might not need all that power but they do. They are willing to pay 2800 bucks for a Macbook Pro because they know it will pay off in there job.
JGalva88 3 years ago
Those are the specs for the new processor in the macbook pro in case you missed it
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
Performance is not on there radar? What do you thing OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is all about? Snow leopard is all about Performance, Stability, and Reliability. They are optimizing the crap out of OS X with Snow leopard.
JGalva88 3 years ago
Yes and this is the kind of stuff apple needs to stop doing and it's holding them back from being taken seriously. The OS is a nice start with creating something that could be used by the average user without much trouble from what I hear; but they need to start emphasizing more detail to hardware specs.
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
The Nvidia GTX 295 was released today, can I get it for my Mac Pro? Nope, I would have to get a 8800GT, that's laughable. PC already has the hardware, and lots of people have been saying that Vista was a beta test. That's why I never got it. Windows 7 is the real OS and getting rave reviews. Apple needs to watch out later this year.
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
Well in the review the Nvidia Geforce 280 GTX has more overclocking, core clocking, along with 3D sharpness then the 295. The thing it does more is just give a bit of a better performance is all it does. So if you have the 280 then that would be better choice.
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
In the reality I payed for exactly what I needed. I take 3D engineering classes, along with video game designing and 3D art. They told me for my 3D engineer I should go with either OpenGL or DirectX as they both fit the purposes as well as my video game designing classes. 3D art told me OpenGL and told me the one I should get which was either a max spec'd Alienware or an XPS. Went with the Alienware myself.
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
Excatly.
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
Just took a look at their Macbook Pro and I'd have to say the only thing that would hold me back from buying a Macbook Pro is the lack of hardrive space, and the fact that I could get a shit load of stuff from Alienware from their M17 notebook, more powerful graphics cards, bigger hardrive space, i could have the choice of a 1tb 7.2k rpm hardrive or a 500gb 7.2k rpm hardrive, not to mention a lot of other stuff to for just $400 more, but I am impressed with the Ram upgrade and the graphics too
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
I disagree when you said "totally re-did Imovie08". It is still Imovie08 with a few new features that are cool factor! I'm not rippin' because I love Imovie08 and Imovie09 will make it all the much sweeter.
onTheMoveDR 3 years ago
Can't wait for the new iMOVIE!! OS X!
swordv 3 years ago
Everything your naming Emeek is features that your casual user can do without. It's has nothing to do with the actual hardware of the computer. We don't need facial recon to organize photos, and GPS is laughable. They made casual upgrades, and iTunes can run on PC, then asks the consumer to pay premium for a laptop with last gen components is also laughable. I need a Core i7 Mac Pro asap for design, but now Apple makes $2800 laptops. $3000+ Mac Pros will be overrated. Mac fans wanted hardware!
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
I would agree with you on that. But then again i7 intell cores are mainly for gamers, so i suppose the Macbook Pro could have those features and I would probably buy it for gaming, they would just have to re-size the hardrive to 500gb to 1tb and have a 7.2k rpm for the 500gb hardrive and a 5.2k rpm for the 1tb hardrive. I would definitely buy a Macbook pro with those specs even if I had to buy Vista Ultimate and boot it through bootcamp. I do want my first laptop to be a gaming one
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
That's too much performance for an Apple laptop, especially out of the box. You will have to upgrade out the ass and then lose on the advertised 8hr. battery life. Gaming on a full spec Apple laptop with decrease it from 8hrs. to under 5hrs.
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
WRONG stop speaking ut you rass like you know that. They said in teh Keynote if you use BOTH Gpu's meaning teh 9400 AND teh 9600 you get it reduced from 8 to 7. Not nowhere was 5 hours mentioned LIAR. sounds like your so jealous that youll say whatever lie you can to downplay the product.

Apple Stepchild
From Apple Website:
Testing conducted by Apple in December 2008 using preproduction 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo-based MacBook Pro 17-inch units with a Better Battery Life setting. Battery life depends on configuration and use. The wireless productivity test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing various websites and editing text in a word processing document with display brightness set to 50%.
So a full spec 17" laptop that's used for design or gaming will get around 5hrs
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
Of course they would also have to add an incredible graphics card, then maybe more user's might go towards the Macbook Pro than to Alienware, and a couple of other extreme gaming vendors to give it a try. Right now it's just a gaming laptop that's more towards the casual gamer, not the extreme kind like me :(

DRM = Digital Rights Management it basclly makes you not own your music Vista is notoriuos for DRM problems and DRM is what stops some music from playing on my psp good job apple
MBproFan 3 years ago
Actually I've taken several sound files from music and did my own little custom mix and it works just fine on Vista
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
thats not exactly what DRM does but because youve used it in Vista now it has DRM on it which means you no longer "own" it, Remember Google is your freind
MBproFan 3 years ago
Lol, well if that's the case a friend of mine has shown me ways around that, so I could call him and ask him if their is a trick around the new DRM. He's a hacker and he's been trying to get me into but as far as I'm concerned I'm not into hacking as much as he is; but some of the thing's he's shown me is very beneficial.
IamtheVOICE123 3 years ago
what im trying to point out is now you dont have to find away around + you dont have to hack to get around it. just the right programs
MBproFan 3 years ago
Ah I see... Well if you could tell me what program's I could use to be able to use Apple's OS without having to turn my alienware into a hackintosh?

I'm not going to argue with you. You like everything Apple makes, I can tell. When I go on vacation, I use my digital camera, not a low quality phone. My camera was only a hundred bucks but it has 8.1MP, my IPhone is only 2MP. Guess we'll have to wait for new cameras.

It IS EA after all. They're stuck-up jerks.

You forgot to mention price...
BlacklightMultimedia 3 years ago
All in all, just a minor itunes update and the mbp which was well behind schedule.
That's all it was in my opinion, very disappointing with all the hype around it.
christheferal 3 years ago
That new battery comes with a price. You cannot replace it. And also iTunes going DRM free in great and all but it should not have happened and they have the right to tell you to pay to get rid of DRM. Also the Garageband thing with the music instructors you have to pay for.
thomashome05 3 years ago
u get like 9 lessons included for free for each instrument.

Great vid!

I totally agreee.
And 8gb RAM as well.
niveceritt 3 years ago
Antiglare option is available ONLY in the most expensive laptop they have, the 17 inch version. Majority use 15 inch MBP like myself.
Plus its $50 extra. Pathetic move by Apple in my view.
discoverist 3 years ago
Apple didn't realise there would be such an outcry for a matte screen I don't think. Wait for the next rev of the 15" and I'm sure you will see the matte option appear there as well.
niveceritt 3 years ago
They had more than enough to "realize" the outcry because it started the moment they released the new iMacs in 2007.
Apple has no excuse. They will do anything to make you "upgrade" and upgrade. They don't even include the remote anymore.
I have been a dedicated Mac user but lately they really disappoint me.
discoverist 3 years ago
Disappoint you for what? Whats so disappointing about apple. I think they are doing great.

the new 15 inch macbook pro have antireflective coatngs which is anti glare,,matte it totally different. only the macbooks have glossy with no coatings. even the macbook air has antireflective coatings and they are awsome. you have to see one of these LED to truly understand.

But im very bummed, I wanted a new Mini, I had the money for it.
VegasUndergroundLive 3 years ago

1xxxxxxdreamxxxxxx1 3 years ago
because they have to to stay competitive.
AppleSoldier 3 years ago
You have always been able to put pirated music on iPods. Music downloaded from iTunes had DRM on it. Jobs has always said that DRM is a pile of cunt, which it is, but the music industries wouldn't listen until now.
niveceritt 3 years ago
Why is there DRM on the new Macbooks display port then?
miked860 3 years ago
No idea.
Its like they've gone one step forwards with music and two steps back with films.
Either way its the MPAA's fault.

you have no fucking clue man. You just down play everything cause your jealous.

people have always put illegal music on IPods, why does this change anything?
IknewitWin7 3 years ago
Just because you write "LESSON STORE", "FACE RECOGNITION", or "DRM FREE" in all caps doesn't make it any more exciting. Macworld was a dud this year. Scream, rant and rave all you want...you know it too.
sarsrkewl 3 years ago
Facial recognition software is HUGE. your just reading what other pc fanboys are saying and following the band wagon. This was quit an achievement. they even released a new laptop. The 17". It was late due to design and battery. Thats a huge announcement. new laptop, new software, no DRM. GET A CLUE
AppleSoldier 3 years ago
Why is it huge? You need GPS for the camera, and I can organize my pictures myself.
IknewitWin7 3 years ago
a few high end DSLR's come with Geo-tagging capabilities now.... and you don't need to organize things by places if you don't want to. but for many its very handy because lets say oh you are in australia for 2 weeks. well iPhoto would make an event for every day's worth of photos, but that would be a crap load of events. iPhoto 09 takes care of that and now you can turn those 2 weeks into one big album.
