  • My Iroc got hit by a telephone pole :( but we were able to replace the frame horns and dog house with a donor and shes good as new! Good job keeping the Camaro alive!

  • nice to see it saved, even if you used a different shell. What happened? Someone ran a light or something?

  • @Artyfil in middle lane @ 3lane turn light, she came from mini mart across 1 lane and BAM!

  • @hwcoll95

wow what a stupid bitch. i'm not an ambulance chaser but I would've sued if someone hit my trans am, even if i was unhurt. in any case, i wish you and your camaro many more miles of happiness. :)

  • i think i would freak out if that happen to me with all the hard work you put into just getting the car

  • Awsome cars, I had a few of them & loved them all!

    Fun cars to Drive!

  • oh.. damn that sucks i hate when drivers are so careless if someone did that to my 69 chevelle id be pissed.... by the way good resto and bad ass camaro

  • did you have agreed insurance on it?

  • @DGKall2010 of course, but it was the other drivers fault

  • a camaro freak like me lol

  • 10,000 hah i got a bike when i was 15

  • plus you dont want a iroc the tpi engine is a peace a shit if you dont have it tunned right your always gonna have over heating problem i had five of them im a GM tech for pontiac if you want a cool an rare car go with a gta

  • hey, i am 15 and i have 10 thousand dollars to spend on a car that i buy in one week, now there is a 1989 chevorlet camaro that is red put the paint is chipping, engine needs work, new tires, and inside refurbishing. should i go and fix that up or just buy another car?

  • @wudyoukindly buy another, look for unmolested and reasonable mileage, with that much coin, you can get a real nice one

  • @wudyoukindly 15 and 10gs to spend? must be nice to be fortunate. im 26 with a full time job and dont even have 500 to spend.

  • @Goodie8486 i went with the camaro. runs like a charm and i can outrun any car on the road!

  • @wudyoukindly ditch the 89 and go buy a classic you idiot!!!

  • cat pluged blinks. an 90 camaro would v6 would be lucky to see that happen when the cats pluged

  • Good to see you fixed her up, and didn't crush her ;) Nice Camaro btw. peronally I like this one better than that red '99 Camaro that was shown earlier in the vid.

  • IROC AND ROLL!!!!

  • wow sorry to see the car in the wreck i would have cried and beat the ass of whoever did that. i get pissed if someone even slightly scratches my iroc. nice job on the car though. it looks good did you finish yet?

  • I have an 86 iroc that ive dumped 12k into in the last 3 years, and the scary part is is i daily drive it from march through november. im ussually a really cool headed person but if someone hit me like that and it was their fault you can bet your ass if i could move id be coming out of that iroc swinging. ive put too many man hours and too much money for someone careless to screw it up that bad

  • 90 RS 3.1 V6, not a V8 but the body is in great shape and I intend on swaping the 6 out for either a high output 305 or a 327, Cam it, nice set of heads to promote power and economy and I'll be a happy camper. currently the cars got a MAJOR lack of power had the same engine and tranny in a 92 Lumina 4 door 0-60 in about 7.8 seconds, my car takes that long to get to 40... no idea whats wrong she shifts bad and idles high around 1500, check engine light goes on and off any Ideas???

  • take you a paperclip and read the codes from the dtc connector under the dash,it will give you a good direction, sure your cats not plugged?

  • could be part of it, the cat is old as the damn hills and i did have the weld behind it to the main pipe blow out a year ago

  • I used to drive an IROC back in 1988. I am in the market for one again. Old school never dies.

  • im 18 and i get my 1988 camaro tomorrow...has a 305...but my uncle has a 350 block eldabrock heads and 750 carb im buying the headers and cam and the 383 stroker kit and ILL BE A HAPPY CAMPER!

  • LONG live the IROC I got one badass I got one for a grad present sold it 8 nice trucks and cars later bought another one

  • Cash4Clunkers was a bunch of garbage. Its cost didn't justify the slight blip in auto sales increases. And yeah, I read the Ford Explorer was the most common traded in rig... think of all the GT40 heads Mustang guys could have used to get better fuel economy and power that were just scrapped because they couldn't be parted out. And 8.8 rear ends, and BW4405 transfer cases, and 4r70w transmissions, and... and that's just the Explorers. Sickening.

  • Dude...That was seriously beautiful. If I had the dough I would've done the exact same thing. CHEVY BOY to the HEART!

  • I have one just like it for 1800. Good engine smokes. Needs lots of work BUT I LOVE THEY WAY IT SOUNDS AHhh cant wait to start working on her.

  • A red IROC-Z28 ? no kidding its like Christine man! i have been through similar ordeal with my 1986 IROC-Z28 an after I was done my brother had the audacity to suggest that why don't I give it to Obama's cash for clunkers :-) No joke, he's not a car guy I suppose .

  • I'm guessing you didn't. That cash for clunkers program was bull shit. All it did was make people buy cars they cant afford just because they got 4500 credit, but where are they going to get the other 15,500 to pay for the car. And they completly destroyed good used parts and engines. I repair cars and I could have used many parts that they just crushed for scrap

  • Trans in 89 IROC is 700R4. Not going out of first gear is a classic symptom of stuck TV valve in the valve body. Other common issue is loss of 3rd and 4th gear (that's a toasted 3-4 clutch pack, of which good aftermarket replacements are cheap and relatively easy to install).

  • own a '87 sport coupe berlinetta, 355 ci with 700r4 trans. it just started shifting early, first things that came to mind was trans. filter clogged or like my buddies '94 his trans. mission switch burnt out and maybe mine is getting ready to blow, what ya think?

  • @8137272424

Shifts into every gear early? Check TV cable 1st to make sure it's in good shape and properly connected. Otherwise, I'd suggest pulling the governor. It's under the round cap thing on the driver side toward the back.

  • whats the trans in a 1989 350 Iroc z i need a new one mines will not go out of first gear

  • both of my 3rds are 5 speeds

  • That was a beautiful thing, i almost cried, saving a Third Gen like that...

  • kick ass job on the repairs!!! there are plenty of mods you can do to boost the power of the 305 tbi, for starters tear the whole thing down carry the the parts to an engine shop have them bore the block over to ur preferences have them shave down the heads for max compression and a .5 lifted cam should do u plenty oh replace the factory ecu chip with a racing one ive got an 1989 rs with the 305 tbi i had a dino test of 473 horses copled with my 4.11 posi rear end she will hall some ass!

  • Hey Dude not gonna lie alot of time and money right there. nice car. lol i love in the vid 0:42 how the wires are like that for the cruse haha its the same way in my iroc but mine dont work so i cut them out. but sweet ride. just thought that was funny

  • nice job saving a nice car!!

  • THANX :)

  • wtf , no keep the 305 mod the fuck out of it , theres 305's making 400hp out ther , theres plenty of ways making a tbi 305 fast plus you got less parts that will break , its much more simple than tpi , evreyone says fuck tbi but they just dont know the potential of a tbi !

  • tbi??? both my camaros are TPI cars and 5 speeds, that why they're 305 (LB9)

  • a 305 is plenty enough power its all in the gear ratio anyways

  • hey i am getting a iroc soon and was wondering how i can make it faster and which exhaust u would recomend for power and sound thank you plz respond with everything u kno tht can add speed and hp thanks

  • first things first get rid of that 305 and get yourself a 350, second get some Hooker headers and run dual egsaust it'l sound ILLLL, and then get yourself a holy 750 with a nitris kit

  • yeah lets dump EFI for a carb, BTW its exhaust* and nitrous* something tells me you probaly 16, because you dont seem to have much of a clue

  • I'm actauly 20 and yes I do have a clue, I'm a mechanic dip shit the only people who start shit on youtube are tools like you

  • the way you talk, it sure dosnt show

  • sure thing OG

  • throttle>bottle....=fail

  • I would cry if my car got wrecked like that.

Looked like it was a real can-opener =/

Glad to see it restored tho. =]

  • I was doing a search for IROC Camaro test crashes & this video came up. Nice work to keep it running too. 2 weeks ago a Hummer backed into my 88 IROC & I already found the parts to replace my damaged parts. Watch my vid on it if you'd like to. Nice red color!

  • man if anyone ever crashed into my camaro I would pull that bitch out of his car and beat him to a fucking pulp

  • Dude its not worth it, Just kidding I have a 1990 Iroc-z and am planning a restoration!!! I would beAT the person who would crash into my car too.!!!!

  • you wouldnt happen to have a t top headliner for an 3rd gen would you?

  • i love these things. love muscle cars in general.

  • haha plz dont crash this one not very many irocs left

  • when was that wreck? I live in cookeville near tech and i never seen it

  • Sept 2005

  • that is a nice iroc, ive got a 88 one still doing some work on it to get it on the road, it is the same colour as yours but i dont no the paint code or if you can still buy it, do you know what the paint code is, any help will be good. thanks

  • bright red 81 WA8774,when i repainted used ICI "speed red"

  • they all have an electric hatch release popper, may have to check on getting voltage to it

  • i'd keep as much matching as possible,motor tranny,ecm,rear,etc...

  • if you have access to the 96 TA complete car,get the ecm, wire harness and the LT1,it's a GREAT transplant to 3rd gens

  • i have had 3 of these cars and i like them but not even close to that much and there a dime a dozen so why the trouble of rebuilding that one? why not swap everything to a new body? i currently have a 99 b4c z28 ls1 "A Digger"

  • Hell yeah man, Never say die! my 84-Z28 was totaled but 5,500 bucks later I got her back on the road too, now im going to make a show car out of her!

  • big time props man

    u might have totaled it

    but u re built it

    shows ure badass

check out my iroc frm my profile

  • Whats the song on this vid? Baddass car man, sorry this had to happen.

  • Rob Zombie Thunder Kiss '65

  • hey man, good to see the IROC back together, im currently "restoring" a 84 z28 i put in 97 camaro SS seats in it... direct bolt in

didnt your title salvage? i notiiced ur from TN too, what part i live in kingsport

  • Cookeville, the title is clean, just used another shell,so VIN will run to a V6 RS

  • great work. nice to see you saved it. i have clean 1989 camaro RS with a 305. they are some of the better cars ever built. 165K and she just runs and runs. i dont drive it in the winter though. i drive my car often but i maintain it. she's held up extremely well for its age.

  • atta boy...

  • im glad that you didnt scrap the car and is eable to put the work in it. nice work

  • Nice iroc!

  • thts awasome i would never want a camaro go there the fucking best car ever and fast for a old car but what happend

  • dudes i feel sorry for this guys Camaro

  • Isn't it illegal to do a body swapp on a vehicle? switching the vin tag over to another donor body? lol dont mean to crash your dreams or n e thing but you did a good job

  • nothing illegal here,VIN will run to a V6 car, just no V6,it's registered as a different car.this one just is 95% IROC. the original IROC is in the backyard waiting for drag racing daze

  • so you never swapped vins? haha i would look up every thing on where the numbers go and swap them but hey, think about hwat they did back in the 60s-70s... but n e ways it looks great man

  • not all irocs had 4-wheel discs, only the ones with rpo code j65

  • i thout that codes was 1le

  • was that origianly an IROC though? with the rear drum brakes? as far as i know, every IROC had standard disc brakes all 4 corners. But anyway you look at it, glad to see you didnt scrap it. Love the cars!

  • well i have a factory i iroc-z and i have drums in the rearend and u dont think im telling the truth the go look at my videos o and the pro code for the iroc-z in 85 was b4z

  • yes, you're telling the truth...the rear-discoption was not standard on the IROC package. The 1LE package is the only 3rd-gen Camaro I'm aware of that had rear discs standard, and even then I'm not certain of that. Better off with an aftermarket setup anyway, the factory calipers stink. GM saddled the F-twins with a weak-suck rear differential, even the Australian 9-bolt in some select GTA's are a pain in the ass...better off to call Moser or Currie(but that's a different story).

  • your my hero for not scrappin your camaro. My father had a 1987 IROCZ-28. he got rear-ended and could not get the car fixed. he was unwilling to put the time and effort into he said. he now had an 1986 Z28 that hes restoring. keep it going man. lived the video.

  • omg hay thats good you got her back and going lol.. keep the 3rd camaros alive!!!!!!! lol thats what im trying to do..

  • omf i woulda killed the bitch who ran into you

  • at the end it was probley worth it all.

now all it needs is a paint job = )

    im thinkin blue! lol

  • thats really cool what you did man i got a camaro iroc im gonna try to rebuild too but you know saying it and doing it are 2 different things but man thats cool you know what they say dont crush um rebuild um

  • fortunely I had just dropped my son at school.frame was so internally damaged that the original body is scrapped, another body took it's place

  • That was an incredible blow to the passenger's side. Was the frame bent? It looked like it was on a frame straightener. Was anyone sitting in the passenger's side seat? How did that accident happen?
