  • A very happy find, simply the best cover ever!

  • Such a brilliant duet!!

  • Just FYI... His name is Rodney CrowEll.

  • I had never heard of either one of these singers, but they sure are talented. Why have I not heard their material before? Amazing.

  • IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY. 24/7. ALL TV STATIONS, ALL RADIO STATIONS SHOULD BE PLAYING JUST NANCI.

  • beautiful

  • perfect...

  • Hark the Angels sing !

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! I'm blown away by this absolutely wonderful version of the Johnny Cash classic. To be honest, I hadn't heard of Ms Griffith or Mr Crowall until now. But suddenly I'm a HUGE fan! What an incredibly gifted pair of performers. THANK YOU so very much for posting this lovely song....you've MADE my day! :)

  • A great Johnny Cash tune from his early days. So many wonderful renditions with hers at the top of the list.

  • God, (Bowed head), Rodney really nailed this, Hank---move it on over, Hank I'm sure you would be very proud of Rodney on this one. And this from a punkrocker in his 50's, Long live Rock and Roll, Berry Cash, Lennon and Strummer !

  • Here's one for someone, truly great Americana.

Truly a great song and greatly sung.

  • Love them both!! BRILLIANT!! Thank you!

  • Many years ago I visited in Berlin so called Kaufhaus der Kultur and suddenly I heard the music from Nanci Griffith's album "Other voices.Too". I knew immediately that this is the music I want to hear more. Fine melodies performed with warmth and piety, not to forget the high musical standard. I'm glad to meet her even in YouTube.

  • just lovin these musical memories of a darlin in music. I'm happy and thrilled ty for the video

  • I guess we are all in love with Nanci...

  • 'Oh I never got over those blue eyes I see them everywhere, I miss those arms that held me when all the love was there...' I am back in 1956 listening to Johnny Cash before he was famous.. the only way to express how this song makes me feel is to sing another song.......... or invent some kind of new poetry made up just of one or two evocative words per line: bittersweet, heart ache, smoky motel room, whiskey glass, lipstick mark, broken heart, heart ache, heart break
  • Thanks for the post

  • Their harmony is absolutely perfect. This a great version of the song.

  • I don't ordinarily care for male singers singing along with Nanci, but this is different and nice. Rodney has always had a nice tenor voice, to me, and it seems to blend well with Nanci's. Nice cover of the Cash tune. Has the loneliness of Johnny's version, too.

  • wespoint64....."Wall of Death" with Richard Thompson. John Sedgwick would agree.
