  • how come the Aron is not fully covered with a paroches

  • what nigun is this?

  • @JProdun its called Niggun Shabbos Vi'Yomtov it can be found on the first CD from Chanan Bar-Sela

  • At 2:55 of the video the top of the casket pops open

  • @01tatty What does it mean?

  • Wow I am surprised that so many Anash were cleanshaven in those days.

  • It is probably, because they are not ANASH. They were JEWS without label (sticker). I hope we will again start to focus on things we have in common and not the differences.

May moshiach come soon in our days.

  • No back in the 40's & 50's observance amongst American Jews was more lax than today.

For example Young Israels had mixed dancing Motzai Shabbos & many Lubavitchers were clean shaven & their wives didn't properly cover their hair.

This changed when the Ramash,ZT"L,ZY"A became Rebbe as cleanshaveness virtually disapperaed & having even the slightest bit of hair showing became a busha.

  • Interesting, I did not know that. Thank you for sharing this information.

  • @grosz2 amen!

  • What is the name of this song please? And where can i get it? It is a beautiful niggun. Thank You.

  • Not unless they are of the Lubaviticher Jewish Faith. THe man that they are mourning is a Rebbe. The leader of the Lubaviticher faith.

  • Lubavitcher movement! Jewish faith, zai nisht kain vershlepte krenk di!!

  • in English please?

  • Translation: (it's idiomatic) Basically he's saying that anyone who calls this the "Lubavitcher Jewish Faith" isn't worth the endless, and probably fruitless, explanation that would be required to enlighten you to the error of your thinking, putting it politely. There's no "Lubavitcher Jewish Faith." It's not Christianity, where you're a Catholic, or a Mormon, or a Lutheran...they're just Jews, of all walks of life--and even a few non-Jews who came because they had much respect for a great man.

  • Thank you for the translation. Being a Reform Jew, I agree that Jews are Jews...we all burned the same....

  • And we're a small people, so how 'bout we skip the labels--orthodox/conservative/reform-and just call each other Jews? A little ahavas yisroel (unconditional love of every Jew, as taught by the Rebbe) goes a long way, brother/sister! One nation...One people Am Yisroel Chai!

  • lubavitch faith ??? its just another type of hasidic jews

  • Very nostalgic!

I wonder if there are any famous people that are seen in this video.
