Can someone please tell me where i can get his old songs? my dad jus passed away n i remember my first ever Tigre dance wit my dad was one of his old song like from 1994 0r later, i dont remember the exact year tho.....and what year was this one?
Aash Ya Idris. This was from 1977-1978 period. I attended one of the shows in Haweshait as a young ELF fighter, just Graguated from Kerkebet. Brought a river of memory to me. I used to play it by Kirar. I know this video is remixed, the song may or may not be original, it doesn't matter though, Idris stil sound Idris and has the same ole qualities to my ears.
I love all songs by Idris Mohamed Ali. He is a great Eritrean treasure. Long Live Idris. By the way, SuperEmileo, I lived in Kassala too...in the Meraba-at neighborhood.

I am getting home sickness because of this song .Idris Mohamed Ali was not living far away from our house when i was in kassala abukhamsa .Very sad to hear that he is in prison .when i was a kid i used to see him passing away infront of our house daily.i love my Eritrean people.
it is too bad to put Eritreans who devoted their lives for Eritrea behind the bars without any trial. Fuck politics, really fuck it. I am sure One day all Eritreans (all of them) will get over it and have the chance to take the right path.
Some time we deny love ,we claim victory,we disgrase shame, show power. And the real care and love for a country is allways presented by the glamourous dazzling beauty of women.LLLLLOOOOONNNNGGGGG lif and joy for all our eritrean womens ,mothers ,wifes, sister, daughters.

Eritrea is suffers from Ethiopia targeting this is clear, and concept But any how does not give justification for the ruling regime in Eritrea as the mouths and suppress people's freedom of opinion and prevents others from saying the facts and take away people's right to progress, democracy and development to the wishes of President patient inhabited concerns and fears of an ghost enemy . I am not keen to involve politics in art and culture but interject itself and deprive us good artist.
any one, any one! please, please post of wed goret and idris ali's poems from early independence times, i remember ERTv had them on. or direct me where i can read thier poetry on line if there is any. please and thank you.
wait so idirs was arrested by the GOE? can anyone send me a link to this story, thats very unfortunate.
on a happier note, i love this song, and i love tigre, its my favorite culture out of all the ethnic groups in eritrea. post more songs by him if you can, thanks!
well, we are Eritreans and Yes TGRe is one of the most beautiful language in ERitrea and I think this is the only langauge that might unite us Eritreans most.period!
who gives a crap's ass about swahili! I know it is your obinion but we don't give a shte about swahili.
well the funny thing is the name swahilli looks like it came from tigre, see swahilli is derived from swahel which means coasts in arabic,so swahilli means the coastal language, now swahel is the plural of sahel which means one coast, sahel is in tegre language also the only diffrence is tegre is now estimated to have been spoken 4500 yrs ago or 2000 yrs before arabic even surfaced, many historians now believe that tegre could actually be the father of geez language which came around 3500 yrs ago.
Do you have (or any one else BTW) Idris's song "misil hawye lihayseni milsom imut wa inber?. if you have it, I would really appreciate if you you could post it.
hey Kerenian there are tow songs that i really want you to do your best in postin them. Please.
one is by Idris mohamed Ali it starts with gntelhe waEnsaa3se and onother one is by wed shiekh welet keren ta mayDa3reet welet kerern ta may jeradeen . Thanks sweetna!
a million thanks Kerenian. Yes truely the language of Tigre is a language of the nobles. you will hardly curse swear words in Tigre because it is the language of the nobles. then we have alpha artists like Idris who remind us about the philosophical and artistic strength of the Tigre language just equally to the Greek language.
Tigrinia could well be linked through ancient history to Greece. Start with the name 'Eritrea' which in Greek means 'Red' referring to the Red Sea from which Eritrea has got its name. Beautiful video clip. Well done brother!
Thanks Kerenian for posting this beautiful song of a great Eritrean Tigre singer languishing in prison of a dictatorial regime. Let this be a tribute to a singer who has contributed a lot to his country

Very good Idris .. All of us we have to ask freedom for him from Assyas prison because he is first eritrean singer, so he has along history of singing strugle.
All Eritreans ask for is peace, you ask for democracy while our country is being toyed by American policy makers who favor Ethiopia. This is a great song, an even better video, keep politics to political videos, take your forever complaining political agenda to Ethiopian videos, we Eritreans just ask for peace, everything else will come by the sons and daughters of Eritrea.
keep politics to political videos? the singer of this song ur enjoying so much is in prison by the govt. this has everything to do with politics. why are people being jailed for? can we at least get a reason or charges.
