Just for the record we all do get older including Gene Paul Ace and Peter.None of us can do things as we did when we were all in our younger days.I used to put stacks of records on and sit and play my drums for hours with them and never miss a beat nor quit except to go to the bathroom.Could I do that now at 53 yrs old?No way.Just enjoy KISS as they were then and enjoy them now in their older age and lets keep the hottest band in the world alive! No more comparisons. Please!
KISS is underrated musically, overshadowed by their appearances and stage presence. but check out their compositions, riffs, arrngements, paul and gene's vocals,...thay're much better than Aerosmith!! Ace plays way much better than....He has the melodic sense and feel.
I thought I was watching just another remaster of the Japan show, until I heard Ladies Room. Obviously the backround vocals are different and better. This is even better than the Kissology version. Please tell me in detail what this EXACTLY is, and where I can get a copy of the whole show. This is THE BEST VINTAGE KISS I've EVER seen and I've SEEN IT ALL! My email address is: NOLANKEVIN7@AOL.COM. Please, please, PLEASE reply!
@shmoeman true...your absolute right at that not to argue with you but can gene & paul play anywhere close as this?? gene forgets the lyrics plays the wrong chords falls on his ass sings the wrong lyrics, paul has a voice like sandpaper and should really growl & grunt in a deathmetal band atleast peter and ace dont wear wigs and living of their history lol
@6Spit6Fire6 Yes, Paul can still play. Yes they wear wigs. That doesn't bother me. And no, Ace and Peter are living off the royalties that Paul and Gene are still working to earn. Do I wish all four originals were still together? Of course. But I have no problem with other members in the band. (but I do wish they had their "own" personna).
Picture is great. Sound is very authentic. I have Kissology 1 but this isn't the Japan concert, is it ? Sounds more raw and real. I know they dubbed parts for the albums but who doesn't ? Is this available on dvd ?
I always get a kick out of "Makin Love". This is one of the few Kiss tunes that for whatever reason was played in standard tuning live. (as opposed to the "half step down" tuning they used for almost everything else). So Paul uses a capo, Ace switches guitars, and Gene just plays the thing a half step up using the refinished LeBoe bass! LOL..somehow, it worked. God bless 'em...
@ChrisDavisMedia Thank you. That's what I MEANT to say. My band uses (what we call) Eb tuning as well. My singer says it makes it a bit more comfortable for his range. Cheers!
@pistache7 No it appears the person that posted this either didn't have or simply didn't post the rest of the song. You can tell Paul Stanley was about to go into his "I want you" vocal solo. He got a drink of water, walked up to the microphone and then it got cut off.

One of my favourite Kiss basslines: simple yet effective. And a blast to play.

@insideanswer82 (So far) it's the "Alive II" audio w/the '77 Budokan video. Nicely done!
Sirscorps 6 months ago
@Sirscorps Well, "Detroit" was from "Alive II", "Makin' Love" is from "Lost Alive II".....etc....
Sirscorps 6 months ago
Respond to this video... Eddie Kramer sped up the "Alive II" recordings to give them some "urgency."

this was Kiss's peak in the 70's from 74-78...fucking stellar !!

@IBZ1965 I stand corrected! Ace DOESN'T switch! He just plays a half step up too! LOL! No open notes on this one!
IBZ1965 11 months ago
@IBZ1965 - what's actually going on is Paul uses a capo on the first fret, making it standard... but they are still tuned down a half step.
