How did you do that? the sliding movement is very smooth! Did you apply an effect at post-processing or manually taken while doing time lapsing? Great work!
@sumedangdv Thanks! It's a motorized timelapse dolly, which is basically a track with a little pulley system and motor setup. The camera takes a photo, then the platform moves a little, then another photo is taken, then another move, repeat. There are a lot of motorized options out there and I hope to be creating an overview video pretty soon.
@LearnTimeLapse Oo, I get it now. Anyway, I just made my first timelapse project and uploaded. Hope you will check it out and give some advice. And, about your blog the "Learn Time Lapse", it's very big useful. Subscribed! :)
@tammy16b Yes and no. Assembly is OK, and once its together setting up a simple shot isn't that bad. It gets difficult and takes some experience (which I am still gaining) when it comes to specific scenes requiring exact speeds and timing to make the shot work. Milapse does do a great job of providing helpful tutorials on how to use his slider.
@dailyboredom This is a stage zero dolly from dynamic perception. I will be writing a lot more about these. Check out the dolly website or openmoco.org
@DanCeekey Thanks! I experimented with a 3 second interval. The footage is sped up a bit in the final video to get it all to fit in 40 seconds. I wasn't originally planning on using such a short music clip.
A really awesome video as usual! I imagine that applying HDR to many images for a time lapse takes loads of time ... or do you have some sort of a "patch HDR" trick?
@Prouisorsapientiae Yeah it is, more and more people are building and selling, or publishing ways to build your own motion control devices. I will be writing a lot more about this but check out openmoco.org
@c4linb Yeah Canon 7D and I am pretty lucky to have collected a few great lenses over the years: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 wide angle for the motion shots, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS macro for the closeups and the internal oven shot. Didn't deflicker, applied a little HDR processing to bring out some of the detail in a few of the shots. The last with the internal oven shot and the angel is straight unprocessed to compare.

Very well done. Creative and professional. Something I'd expect to see on a TV magazine program. Bet your family loves it. Congrats!

So I have an idea to use the Stage Zero time-lapse dolly, but I have never used it before. Is it complex to get used to working with?

Awesome video. At what interval (in seconds) the individual photo's were taken?

@7irz tons of time. no really fast trick, just batch processing overnight. It's not fun but I love the added detail.

@LearnTimeLapse I can say with certainty that your efforts haven't gone in vain! Keep them coming :) !
