It's more for the coming of Christ. Christians believe the Messiah came already (Jesus Christ) but the Jews do not. Unfortunately it got destroyed, and they became ungodly so God scattered them, and now that they have a state they're trying to go back and rebuild the temple.

@Tombomb0071 Of course. But the tower of Babel wasn't made for the glory of God it was for the glory of the flesh. They wanted to prove how great they were and God had to punish them, to humble them. So he spread them out and made these languages. But that was mankind as a whole, not just the Hebrews. And even now the Hebrews are scattered all over the world

They fell back into his Grace (although it really never left them, they just humbled themselves because they knew what they had done and deserved it) and he allowed them to come back. This is contributing to the war between Jews and Arabs, but it's been going on for thousands and thousands of years.

@Tombomb0071 It's not the rock that's the problem, it's the dome. The Temple can easily include the rock but the Muslim's built the Dome and it's obviously a problem for building a big temple there.
He allowed the enemy to take over the land. It was King Solomon that built the Temple to honor God, God didn't build it for himself. It's in the prophecy that after the end times will happen after the Third rebuilding of the Temple. So God didn't go to the Israeli leaders telling them to build him

God would also prefer that we had no sinners, and everyone would be saved. But most people live for the flesh. And asking why the Temple has to be there where it causes wars is like saying "Why did the Native Americans settle here, where the Europeans would crush them." It was built in the past when the land was in the hands of the Hebrews.

It's more for the coming of Christ. Christians believe the Messiah came already (Jesus Christ) but the Jews do not. Christians believe the when the prophecies are fulfilled, it will be the second coming of Christ, and he'll bring judgement to the world. The destruction and judgement has to happen for the new reign, where the world is completely peaceful and God loving. That's what we're shooting for.

Think about it, for 3000 years they never had a place of their own, so now when they do they want to glorify God as was originally intended. The reign of Solomon was like the golden age of their faith and want to follow it. That's where the temple was the first two times, so why not a third.
