  • my point is the stuff they add into our water make it more basic.

And I don't want to sound mean, but usually the people I have seen with gout have diets that are rather unhealthy to begin with. They drink too much and have high blood pressure etc. Your treatment hasn't been demonstrated to work much at all. And like I mentioned, a lot of our water is already basic. Soo, if that's not helping already then what?

  • @ryoshi100 Give it up, you can't fix stupid. If people are going to be stupid enough to listen to some internet guy with no proof, it's their own fault.

  • @TheMidwesternChemist LOL! After 100s of gout attacks and 3 surgeries for Tophi to being gout-free for going on 3 years now, I'm satisfied. Drill baby drill!

  • @ryoshi100 Yes, and that is in the interesting point - "they add stuff" . . . whoever they are. The FDA, the USDA . . . and all those other agencies that are just fronts for the Big Midwestern Chemical companies. I'm not here to convince you, just to tell my story. Water (the Interstitial Fluid) brings the fuel/nutrients to the cells, gets them inside, then hauls out the waste or ash and carries it off. It's all about creating better health at the cell level. Dig around about it, there's plenty!

  • @bertthad

(knows the Midwestern Chemist to be a potsmoking hippy who distrusts government agencies)

But, do you have any proof? I mean, an anecdote is fun and all, but it's not evidence

  • @ryoshi100 Proof. Yes. Me. After 13 years for gout a couple times a month in spite of 300mgs of Allopurinol and Colchicine everyday & 3 surgeries on my fingers and toes for Tophi - to not having attacks for going on 3 years. Yes; that is my proof. If you're looking for the same kind of "double-blind, placebo" studies & all that kind of crap that's skewed to favor whatever drug a drug company is pushing, no - & I don't believe in all that crap anyway. Google: Kangen Water + Gout Thx!

  • @bertthad

Sorry but a few anecdotal stories are not proof. A lot of conditions go away on their own without any medical intervention that have nothing to do with what we are doing.

I require a higher burden of proof. And while studies can be skewed, it's still better than random internet people. Medical study tampering is not as common as people think. It takes years for a reason.

  • @ryoshi100 I don't think that anything I have to say is going to be valuable to you ryoshi100 - my point of view on it is that you are trying to use western medicine methods to evaluate this and since the FDA and others can't seem to find a way to make money on this and a zillion other natural and holistic treatments & methods, studies/tests of that kind are not going to happen. All I can say is that I am 1 of millions of people who have found results from using alkaline ionized water. Thx.

  • The disinfectants in our water are actually why it has a pH of around 8.5

But honestly, I think if we just ate better and got more exercise, we wouldn't see this problem increasing so much. There isn't much evidence that special waters are going to make much of a difference.

  • @ryoshi100 Actually it's not the disinfectants that raise there pH - various sodiums do that; carbonate, hydroxide, etc. What does it mean to "eat better"? Eating better would help but in the order of importance of what our bodies consume to stay alive it goes like this: Air-Water-Food. W/O air/oxygen we die in 5 minutes, w/o water, in 5 days, w/o food, 5 weeks. Learn to breathe better first, your body is 75% water - change that and you're golden, and oh yeah, eat better. Special Waters-YES!

  • But, most of our city water is already alkaline.

Soo, why not just drink tap water and not waste money??

  • @ryoshi100 I like it! How alkaline is your tap water? Or better yet, how much acidity is stuck in your tissues? If you're having a gout attack right now probably a lot. Besides that, all the disinfectants (chlorine/chloramines) that are in your water - what are they doing for you? And more important than the alkalinity is the ORP - Oxygen Reduction Potential and the restructuring/micro-clustering of the water molecules getting in and cleaning things up. Thx 4 asking the ? so can soapbox!

  • I'm sure it is, that's why I recommend 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 8oz. glass of water. Once in the morning and once before bedtime. not everyday of course. what do you think?

  • @edbtzkhud I like it! Alkalizing quickly is the best way to knock out a gout attack but taking in that amount of salt, in that form, is NOT a long term solution. You would be better served to do the baking soda every few days and put 2 tblspns of apple cider vinegar (Braggs w/the Mother) every morning and night. ACV is acidic . . . when it's outside your body - alkaline-"forming" when it's used on the inside. Thx 4 the ?!
