have you noticed that all these madden tips for offense and defense are done on a practice field were you can set the other team's play against yours to make it work unlike in a real game were you can't do all that because of the time and because you have to guess the others players play

Effective yet efficient pressure is about creating matchups. So instead of bringing the house, you try to get 4 rushers to 3 lineman. Or 3 rushers to an OT and OG. And then you can put your opposite DT and DE in zones similiar to what Gibs is showing. Yes, using draws and other running plays can gain some yards. But you need to not be predictable when using this concept. Its a great play to throw in on say 3rd and 8. And "Slants will kill this" He has the FS so he can defend any route he chooses

This is a very good concept that I often use. I see people writing negative responses, and usually they are pointing out flaws in the play. First off, there is no defensive play that can shut down every route every time in every situation. Its like someone showing you how to use a prevent defense, and then someone saying "Oh I'd kill that defense. I'd just run hb draws." But draws are irrelevant when its 4th and 20. Gibs isn't saying this is an every down base defense

I see a lot of people do that where they put the DE on OLB on hook zones etc. The key is the QB spy. When people seem to have unstoppable coverage, just watch how many people are rushing you and just run forward. That spy means the difference of a receiver getting open or the QB running the ball. It's easy to play against on offense if you pay attention which is why I love playing against this type of man defense.

For all of you who are complaining about "nano this" or "nano that"...think about what a nano blitz is. It's a blitz that CAN NOT BE STOPPED VIA SLIDE PROTECT that only 4 or less. This blitz he is showing you is a simple math blitz. The defense brings more people off of one side than the offense has blocking to that side. If you want, slide protect left, or slide protect right. Heck, you can even block a RB and this play is blocked.

Also, this set-up is very easy. Takes 2 seconds tops.

not helpful at all. when you pause the pictures you can see open recievers. However, you just put the attention to the ones you are throwing to. And what happens if you have a fast QB like vick or newton that can run if he sees that the majority of your guys are going into deep coverage? Other players will be able to scout this and be able to work around this with west-side style passes and qb or rb runs.

This works great but what if the quarterback can run? Looks like the right side is open for a run maybe for 4 or 5 yards. If I'm wrong he should show how to stop the quarterback from running.

@eduardorobinski ounce you get the hang of the setup it doesn't take that long really. trust me i do it all the time and you can get 90% of the setup done before the offense even gets lined up. just remember to start as soon as you break huddle don't wait.

first off there is no such thing as a nano... any pressure in this game can be stopped one way or another.. and gibs will tell u the same thing.. this is a simple overload concept send more blitzers then blockers.. just take the tip for what it is.. there is a reason gibs is so successful with this game.. 2nd off stop sayin oh i could beat this with the toss or i would do this.. every play is situational and if its 3rd and 15 ur probably not calling a toss.. football 101
