That said, can you think of another way to verify identity? Maybe as technology progresses, fingerprint reading (like on my dell vostro) may come in handy.

I don't know, I've made many websites with captchas. IP blocking is a good way, but it can't be used in massively popular sites.

Youtube Captchas are the bane of mankind. I've been a member since March 2006, which is over 5 and a half years. I make what must be 25-50 comments per week, hardly any of them flagged or removed.

Surely that's enough to prove to them that I am indeed a human?

Even so, they need to show me some mercy. Even a simple captcha would suffice for me, a member for over 5 and a half years. One that I don't have to press my eyeballs on the screen to read. I'm 28 now, my eyesights beginning to go!

They are twisted so optical reading software can't bypass them and spam comments. It's annoying, but that's the reason for them.

But I do blame the captcha team that do not take a serious effort in reviewing their captcha code whether it is readable to human like us or not.
