@SaturdayMorningFever Sorry Fever NOT Falsetto, he's not singing above his range, this vid. is not very good and he is getting older for sure, but if you've ever seen and heard him live you should know better, not fasletto
Come see Zebra at the St. Cletus Oyster Festival on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 8 p.m. 3600 Claire Ave., Gretna, LA 70053. Admission is FREE!!! Come early and bring your appetite, as there will be a huge variety of South Louisiana's favorite foods, draft and bottled beer, wine, daiquiris, and more.
Randy's vocal chops are beyond belief. How can he sound exactly like he did 25 years earlier in the studio? 99% of rock vocalists with less range can't do that live the same year an album is release, nonetheless 25 years later.
I remeber sneaking into a bar named Cousins in Hyde Park NY at age 15. This was late 1981, early 82. Got to watch Zebra , not in the front row, but at the front table! Been a fan ever sense! Place was was empty! If they only knew at that time what was to come of that band!! Great show!
How cool is Zebra. I saw them at least six times at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY back in the 80's. They always put on a great show. I also saw Randy Jackson solo at a place called The Collegeview Cafe adjacent to Vassar College. The place was open for about a week.
He and one of the singers from Kansas do "Eagles Tribute" shows with local symphonies. He just did a show in Houston back in November 2008 with the Houston Symphony.
Aw Mule Dude ! How friggen cool is this. One of my all time favs! No one sings like RJ. Song rocks. I've yet to hear anyone try & cover him. Almost like trying to cover Geddy !! Thnx for post
Why can't I find a regular version instead of a live performance?

I remember screwing my voice up back when I was in a band back high school trying to imitate Randy's voice. Falsetto of not, it's amazing.

Randy Jackson uses falsetto ALOT in the high register
Rik Emmit uses it VERY little...almost none at all
The entire chorus of this song was and is being sang in falsetto

Is the kid someones son? or a cancer survivor???
I don't get it? Sounds like a 13 yo old guitarist to me.

Hi Emadd9,
Randy sang falsetto from day one. He admits it.
The same goes for "The Door". A lot of people do the same like Rik Emmett of Triumph. Randy's still got it, trust me....

Sad that he can no longer hit those highs except in falsetto. Great, Great song though. I bought this album the day it came out, way back when.

Great video. Saw Zebra a few times at Beggar's Opera in Queens, early 80's. Played Zeppelin to a T. Even did "The rain song."

Love the song but to hit those high notes he must sit on his testicles. Rock on young man!
