@unfortunatebeam Delusional? You're the one that, obviously, watches too much MTV and Michael Moore movies. What the Supreme Court did was reverse restrictions on lobbying. It's not limited to just corporations; but now ALL lobby groups (left or right) can support or oppose whoever they want without government restrictions - something the liberal media never had to worry about. Obama is just mad because he didn't have the court, like Congress, on lockdown; but now he just lost the house too.

@Mikey77B I realize that, but be serious. Who are the ones going to have more influence and sway? The nonprofit organizations, or the huge forprofit ones? I think we know the answer. Any amount that smaller organizations can donate is going to be marginal and negligable compared to what the huge corps. can give. And those huge corps have their own self interests that are more often than not contrary to yours and mine. Has the recent bailout meant anything to you at all??

As for the bailouts; I personally, was against them. In the private sector, it's sink or swim; and, just because you're a major institution or corporation (such as the bank and car companies), doesn't mean Uncle Sam has to come and save you. The bottom line is, you're NEVER going to have any law(s) without pluses AND minuses.

Alito will not be there this year and I don't blame him. To be expected to just sit there with no reaction as the President basically calls you evil and destructive to your own country is a lot to expect. So Alito will follow in the path of former Justices who also did not attend these addresses.
Obama is wrong about the court ruling anyway. The ruling is all about congress revisiting the issue and making "constitutional" campaign financing laws; it is all within their power to do so.
