@joeeregulah "could you imagine not having one fear in the world im cool in the after life if am reading these chapters right." i swear to god i was just contemplating that line today and i heard this shit years ago.
@1Demoris And just think this was only a Freestyle. This was the sickest flow Jay EVER laid down. I am a big Jay-Z fan but out of all the body of work he has done, I can pull this one as his VERY BEST in my opinion. All though Blue Magic is a close second. But like I said that is just my opinion.
@wilnout6453 nigga the reasonable doubt album is by far the best shit jay ever came out with. he was battling nas at this time. this is the type of shit we need to hear more often.
@lubui2583 he battled nas during the blueprint CD homie. Like I said it is my opinion. I think reasonable doubt was his best CD and yes we need that type of hip hop now. But the flow on this is unlike any other he did. Every rapper knows there is a difference between a flow and an album. JUST MY OPINION.
If u dnt smoke light a incent or sumpthin fuck it lol truly the best rapper alive unlike any other hasnt let tha drugs or bullshit fuck up a single rhyme or flow , dudes rare kinda rapper a tru MC
this shit go hard. when i was younger i really dis liked jay because i was so into nas, now more mature and grown i find myself indulged in hovas music. a motivator to get through a days hustle...
jay is one of the most talented musician but to keep his career advancing in the music business you have to go along with these undergound freemason illuminati secret societys to get mass control for there agenda N.W.O
@spliffgame - I couldn't have said it any better and yet it's after the fact that he's continuously explains himself in songs like this and ppl still be talking...
@sschi you and me both... i haven't heard this in at least 6 years... it just popped into my head 2 minutes ago... i wish he would've parlayed this into an entire song...
this song was an answer to nas's song "your the man" if you put this song against that one, Take over against Nas's " H to the Omo" Nas only won one round. Ether against "Super Ugly"
@jrichb430 ether was all he needed. he cant battle with nas on that lyrical level. but he has put out more then enough classics for us. hes definately one of the best to do it.
@jrichb430 That's not how it worked. H to Omo was in response to the Summer Jam thing. Ether was in response to Takeover, Supa Ugly came. After that Last Real Nigga Alive was a response to Blueprint 2.
yeah this is classic jay its like he says things w/o saying them u gotta rewind n research wth he said ...if ur not intelligent u wont get it therefore u wont like it..thats y ppl hate on jay so much
jay said i dont have to sell another record in my life....wow.
i will be the first to say that Jay is my all time favorite. but i will never ever buy or financially support him again until our economy gets everyone able to really live with standard means..i'm talking about getting all the homeless folk somewhere to live and call there own and things of the sort...F supporting Willow Smith too!
Jigga killin this shit. Jay-Z sometimes gets on my nerves,, but his best songs is what makes him a legend. Plus the flow is hotttttt. It's cuz he don't write shit,, he has a huge advantage. Freestyling automatically has better flow that written.
The problem is, most people aren't educated enough to understand what Jay's talking about half the time. Half you dumb fucks wanna hear about hoes and cars n shit while Jay is spitting about real shit. Thats what makes hip-hop. Jay's lyrics, especially his metaphors and meanings within the songs go over a lot of people's heads. I'm lucky enough to understand a lot of what he means, thats why Jay-Z is my favorite rapper.
@spliffgame Real talk homie. These fuckers need to step their comprehension game up. That's why alot of them hate on Jay. They fear or dislike what they don't understand.
@spliffgame Yeah I would never proclaim to be any master historian of hip hop, but no one is even in this guys league. He really is the MJ or rhyming no one is really worth even mentioning in the same sentence. People just plain don't get it....whenever he gets in his metaphorical, double-entendre mode shit just starts flying over the average persons head.
@spliffgame yep, years later i catch a few things i missed previously-that's crazy. the ability to make it sound so easy, but be very complex at the same time.
I totally agree with you, back in the day when Mc's really ciphered such as Jay, the whole thing was following the rhyme and not the beat, it was only complimentary to the word layed down in rap form. Oh geez I'm probably already over half these cats heads, I hate to say this but we might have to open up a new lane for all this bullshit that these idiots are listening too.
@spliffgame Thanks for that comment. I feel the same way. People listen to bullshit nowadays and call it hip hop and its losing all of its intelligence. Thanks!
this is recycled lyrics from "the message" feat. dr. dre.. go listen lol..... same flow...your getting to big for your britches..... you got a few little bitches... u thinking you hell but you just ridiculous....
~I'm not saying that I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world -2pac
@moochis124 damn its a recyled flow huh? you named one bar and he only used one line that was the same n thats "your getting to big for your britches" then after that he switched it up completely.... shut the fu*k up
@moochis124 So you're saying Jigga wrote The Message??.... I thought Royce da 5'9'' wrote that?? I heard that's how Royce startin' beefin' with Em and Dre, because Dre didn't give Royce credit or some shit. Maybe Jigga wrote a verse and Royce wrote a verse or somethin'.... PS - "Breathing's a prevlige" sickkkk line
This was his respond to ether, but he refused to let it drop, real talk....after ether dropped, he let this leak n many didn't hear this record, clue n k slay played it but the public already said nas got the battle!!! The super ugly freestyle was deemed too far...who knew huh? lol...JAY is the greatest!
@comedicstuff - You know its serious when ya moms tell you that you went too far smh.....nas n jay moms pretty much had the beef squashed, they didn't want to see it go the route of Big n Pac.....truth be told Jay still got it on lock, look who shadow nas standin in now....n i still give nas his props tho!
Wow Oh my f'ing lord lol..........i cannot stand when ppl say stuff like "pieguy264" said "jay used a more simple flow" referring to his second album being "forgettable". Dude get it right...Vol. 1 in my lifetime you got "streets is watchin" which is sick; imaginary player; sunshine; friend or foe 2.......Hard knock life vol 2.........enough said (nigga what nigga who; money cash hoes; can i get a; a week ago; its alright).....nigga what nigga who had a flow too quick for nas to keep up with
Jays flow was at his best in his Reasonable Doubt era. Nas continued to build on his flow while Jay uses a more simple flow. Just because Jay-z put out an album every year doesnt make them good. His 2nd album was forgettable, Volume 2 and 3 are solid albums. The Dynasty is dope, Blueprint is classic, Blueprint 2 is wack, Black album is classic. Kingdom Come was ight American Gangster was good, BP3 was ight. Jay only has 3 classic albums out of 11!
@pieguy264 I tend to disagree with the flow statement because I would cite from 01-05 as his best years. Also, classic is such a subjective term, there isn't really a "right" answer for any artist you can think of.
I thought about that, but at the same time if someone makes an interesting point, it can get the ball rolling and lead to a fruitful discussion. As long as people don't get disrespectful or say something useless, I'll let it slide.
Yea theres nothing wrong with a little debating now and then. Im actually suprised rappers still tryna get at Jay. They should have done that while he was actually competing in his prime.
@pieguy264 bp2 was not wack i take that over black album anyday....and so what he has 3 classic joints out of 11. first of all,thats an opinion.2nd, mj had like 14 nba seasons and not all were classic seasons even the greats fall short homie.
everything go hard to you smh thats some stupid shit to post this shit goes hard no wonder hip hop is in a fucked up state because of retarded ass fans like that

Jay didnt come up with that dude, I know he's your favorite but everything doesnt revolve around him.

Kool G Rap, AZ, and Raekwon used that hustla persona & emotion before Jay did!!

I think most hip hop fans can agree which albums are classic tho. His Blueprint era was great but after 2003 Jay lyrically is just decent.

@BF33210
I think you should filter comments that have nothing to do with the video.

@YoungMalcomX1 Black album is way betta than BP2, theres so much filler on Bp2!! Jay is nice but he aint the MJ of rap!

@pieguy264 - I can divide! That's a "one hot album every 4 year average!"

@pieguy264
and who has more than that?
I think BP3 will go down as classic...to many good songs on there.

@jrman80 BP3 will go down as a classic when hell freezes over!!

@pieguy264 personally i think bp3 was also a classic, i loved his wordplay on that album and i love the beats he chose to use
