@3:32 the boy whacks the elephant on the behind with the stick for no discernible reason and with no discernible positive outcome. Pointless, mindless violence.
If I'd been there, I'd have whacked him to see how he likes it!
The music is a Spiritual Song sung by an Indian Sadhu or Saint. The meaning of this song is that my soul, who has been bound up for a long time in this material world is now free...
this was just taken with a simple canon power shot, not even a video camera and no try pot. i am looking for any film clip of laksmipriya that other devotees took during the festival. She has become so attached to me that she rather walk with me than have her picture taken by me, which I don't mind. However it makes it difficult for me to record her development. she likes to grab my hand with her trunk while we walk together.
She is being trained right now for the Saturday processions. The boys sit on her during the procession, but she still does not carry the deities. i think within a few weeks she will be ready to start that service to the Lord. we do not want to force her, we rather let her take her time until she is completely ready. I will try to post a video later
Thank you for posting this video. She is obviously very well looked after and looks like she's enjoying herself immensely. Does she carry deities in those wonderful deity processions on the temple grounds that Mayapur is famous for?
There are some videos about elephant painters, and their rescue camps, they are actually not doing much for those elephants but exploiting them too, like the zoos, or any other organization that involves humans controlling animals. Thank you for letting us see what the real freedom means for an animal of this caliber.
Thank you, yes, I also believe that animals, that are being used just to make money, are being exploited of their freedom. Our Elephant has been recued from a poor man who had no money to even properly maintain himself, what to speak of feeding his Elephant. She had been neglected and starved. Now she is very happy here. I will try to take more video clips of her in the future. There are those rare moments that people do not get to see much otherwise.
I am working on it. ..She is doing well. When I saw Laksmipriya yesterday after being away for 1 month, she smelled me with her trunk all over and made very loud purring sounds. Her mahout commented that she has been missing me a lot.
